Manna for Your Morning

The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. — Romans 13:12 (NKJV) So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. (Romans 13:12 NLT) But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! (Romans 13:11-12 MSG) Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about! (Romans 13:14 MSG) Light shines in the darkness for the godly.  They are generous, compassionate, and righteous.  — Psalm 112:4 (NLT)

God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. — 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 (MSG) In Jesus, we have a fresh start, not just for ourselves, we are to invite others to journey with Jesus and live in the light. The night [this present evil age] is almost gone and the day [of Christ’s return] is almost here. So let us fling away the works of darkness and put on the [full] armor of light. (Romans 13:12 AMP) May the children of God drop their differences and enter into God’s work, being representatives of Christ on earth. Let us light up the darkness of this world with the light of God’s love, grace, peace and truth.

Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; When I fall, I will arise; When I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me. — Micah 7:8 (NKJV) A righteous man may fall seven times and rise again (Proverbs 24:16a). We may be struck down, but we are not destroyed. Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. (Psalm 112:4) Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. (Isaiah 60:1) The night is far spent, the day is at hand. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. — Galatians 3:27 (NLT) The one question most of us ask ourselves almost everyday is, “what am I going to wear?” Then we intentionally pick out an outfit and get dressed. Similarly, in the spiritual realm, we must purposefully choose how we clothe ourselves. We can choose to wear the garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:3, NKJV). Romans 13:12 (NKJV) instructs us to cast off the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light. Colossians 3:12 (NIV) says, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony (Colossians 3:14, NLT).

Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your tabernacle.  — Psalm 43:3 (NKJV) May we be led by the light of the LORD. God is light and in Him is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). He has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light. Let us cast off the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light (Romans 13:12). His light will always guide us to a place of unconditional love, forgiveness, grace and mercy. Consistently following the Light of this world, Jesus Christ, will lead us to wholeness, healing and an abundant, eternal life. Amen!
