Manna for Your Morning

Wisdom shouts in the streets. She cries out in the public square. She calls to the crowds along the main street, to those gathered in front of the city gate: “Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise. I called you so often, but you wouldn’t come. I reached out to you, but you paid no attention.” — Proverbs 1:20-21, 23-24 (NLT) “...wisdom’s song is not always heard in the halls of higher learning. But in the hustle and bustle of everyday life its lyrics can always be heard above the din of the crowd. You will hear wisdom’s warning as she preaches courageously to those who stop to listen:” (Proverbs 1:21 TPT) …listen to what wisdom says, and treasure her commands. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on gaining understanding. (See Proverbs 2:1-2 NLT) All who listen to wisdom will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm. (See Proverbs 1:33 NLT)

Thus says Yahweh, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “I am Yahweh your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.” — Isaiah 48:17-18 (LSB) Elohim, our Creator, didn’t form us in the womb of our mothers and forget all about us. He wants to be involved in the details of our lives, and will lead us step-by-step, in the way we should go. Sometimes we are too busy running our own agenda to stop and seek God's will. However, He created us with plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster. He has purposed it and He will also do it. Draw near to Him. Faithfully follow Him, and learn His ways. May we be like Mary, who seated herself at the Lord’s feet and was continually listening to His teaching. He who gives attention to the word will find good, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD. — Proverbs 16:20 (NASB1995) Every word of God proves true. (See Proverbs 30:5 NLT) Let us regularly turn our attention to the Word of God, and let it renew our minds from the programming of this world. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. (Hebrews 4:12 NLT) Don’t just listen to the Word, heed what it says. James 1:22 (AMP) says: But prove yourselves doers of the word [actively and continually obeying God’s precepts], and not merely listeners [who hear the word but fail to internalize its meaning], deluding yourselves [by unsound reasoning contrary to the truth]. In John 8:31 (AMP), Yeshua says:  “ If you abide in My word [continually obeying My teachings and living in accordance with them, then] you are truly My disciples. ”

But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, — 1 Timothy 4:1 (NASB1995) We must be very careful and discerning of who or what we choose to give our attention to. Proverbs 16:20 (NASB1995) says: He who gives attention to the word will find good, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD. May we be hearers and doers of the Word of God. In Proverbs 1:24-25 (NLT), Wisdom says: “I called you so often, but you wouldn’t come. I reached out to you, but you paid no attention. You ignored my advice and rejected the correction I offered.” We must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it. (See Hebrews 2:1 NASB1995) As we continually grow in our knowledge and application of the Word of God, we will be able to recognize what is not in alignment with the Holy Scriptures, and turn away from it. He who pays attention to the word [of God] will find good, and blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) is he who trusts [confidently] in the LORD. — Proverbs 16:20 (AMP) We find good when we give attention to God’s Word, daily and not just on Sunday morning. The Word of God is Good News (you can use). For every word God speaks is sure and every promise pure. His truth is tested, found to be flawless, and ever faithful. It’s as pure as silver refined seven times in a crucible of clay. (Psalm 12:6 TPT) You can trust our faithful God to fulfill every Word He has spoken. Not reading and applying the Word of God, on a daily basis, places you in a battle with no weapon. We are in a war and the devil takes no vacations. He roams about the earth seeking whom he may devour. Even Jesus overcame the the temptation of the devil by stating the Word: “ It is written… ” (Matthew 4:4, 6, 7 &10)

He who pays attention to the word [of God] will find good … Proverbs 16:20a (AMP) Don’t treat the Word of God, like a book of fairy tales. It’s not just another bedtime story. It is the truth that will set you free (John 8:32). It is life and power (Hebrews 4:12). It contains precious promises from God. Not one promise from God is empty of power ... (Luke 1:37a TPT). The Holy Bible is a love letter from our Heavenly Father, declaring His unfailing love for us. It’s a road map to navigate you through life successfully. Psalm 119:105 NLT says,  Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.  Have you ever tried to get somewhere you've never been before without using a guide? The Word is a weapon, the Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17). Jesus used it to triumph through His time of temptation (Luke 4:1-13), and we can too. Meditate on the Word. Let it renew your mind. Pay attention, come close now, listen carefully to my life-giving, life-nourishing words. I’m making a lasting covenant commitment with you, the same that I made with David: sure, solid, enduring love. ” — Isaiah 55:2-3 (MSG) Let us come close to the LORD and listen carefully to His life-giving, life-nourishing words. His Word brings healing and wholeness. It comforts, strengthens and encourages. His Word stands forever and lasts throughout all types of storms and battles. His Word gives us hope and preserves our lives. In His Word, our heavenly Father tells us of the sure, solid and enduring love, He has for us. May we feast on His Word.

... if you pay close attention to wisdom, and let your mind reach for understanding,  then you will understand the fear of the LORD and you will find the knowledge of God. The LORD gives wisdom. From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. — Proverbs 2:2, 5-6 (GW) Wisdom sings her song in the streets. In the public squares she raises her voice. He who pays attention to the word [of God] will find good, and blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) is he who trusts [confidently] in the LORD. — Proverbs 16:20 (AMP) Tired of the constantly negative news and posts? Tune into the Word of God and you will find the good and positive message that will revive you. When we wisely pay attention to His Word, we find good. His Word gives life. (Psalm 119:50) Through His precepts we get understanding. (Psalm 119:104). Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires (Psalm 37:3-4 NLT). Know that it is better to trust in the LORD than to put your confidence in man. (Psalm 118:8) Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalm 34:8)

“Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.” — Isaiah 55:3 (NLT) The Message Bible says, Listen to me, listen well: Eat only the best, fill yourself with only the finest. Pay attention, come close now, listen carefully to my life-giving, life-nourishing words . With all the extraneous noise and voices clamoring for our attention, let us keep an open ear to hear His still small voice. His words give life and nourishment to our souls. Draw near to our heavenly Father, with your ears wide open. The closer you are to Him the more likely you are to hear His voice.

Jesus said to him, No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back [to the things behind] is fit for the kingdom of God. — Luke 9:62 (AMP) “The reason you’re not living the life you want to live is because you’re not dying to the life you used to have.” —Pastor Jeff Osborne. Let us pay attention to what God is doing today. You have come to far to go back. In the Message version of Luke 9:62, Jesus says, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.” Press on! The righteous will move onward and forward, and those with pure hearts will become stronger and stronger (Job 17:9 NLT).

Listen, God! Please, pay attention! Can you make sense of these ramblings, my groans and cries? King-God, I need your help. Every morning you’ll hear me at it again. Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on your altar and watch for fire to descend. — Psalm 5:1-3 (MSG) God is our helper. May we look to Him, each and every day to give us wisdom and guidance. Let us look to Him every moment of the day to be our strength and joy. As we expose every area of our lives to His light and love, He will bring about the healing and restoration that is needed. At His alter is where things get altered —changed forever!
