“Light shines on the godly, and joy on those whose hearts are right. May all who are godly rejoice in the LORD and praise his holy name!” — Psalms 97:11-12 (NLT) In John 9:5, Yeshua said: “While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.” In Matthew 5:14, He told His disciples: “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;” Wherever your journey through life takes you, be the light . As children of God we are to live clean, innocent lives, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. (See Philippians 2:15 NLT) Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 NASB1995) “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of Yahweh has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and dense gloom the peoples; But Yahweh will rise upon you, and His glory will appear upon you.”  — Isaiah 60:1-2 (LSB)

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “ I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life. ” — John 8:12 (NASB) In John 12:46, Jesus said: “ I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. ” Everyone who believes in Jesus is to depart from darkness and be light. You are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14 NASB). We are to let His Light shine through us and pierce the darkness. May we continually bear His Light in dark circumstances, the Light of life, the Light of hope and peace, and the Light of God’s grace and unfailing love. “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world.
