As Saul turned and started to leave, God gave him a new heart, and all Samuel’s signs were fulfilled that day. — 1 Samuel 10:9 (NLT) After the LORD appointed Saul to be ruler over Israel, God gave him a new heart. First Samuel 10:10 says, the Spirit of God came powerfully upon Saul. In addition, Saul was changed into a different person. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.” Respond to the LORD today. “From here on, worshiping the Father will not be a matter of the right place but with the right heart. For God is a Spirit, and he longs to have sincere worshipers who worship and adore him in the realm of the Spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24 TPT)

If you have a stony heart, let the gentle hands of our heavenly Father remove it and replace it with a heart of flesh. The heart of stone is cold and hard, nothing can get into it and nothing can get out. It is prideful and stubborn (wants its own way). It holds on to grudges and offense. A stony heart does not know God and turns away from Him. The heart of flesh has the blood of Jesus running through it, constantly giving it newness of life. As members of God’s family, we are to have soft, healthy hearts, that are sensitive and responsive to the touch of God. Instead of cold, hard hearts infested with jealousy, envy and bitterness, our hearts of flesh are to be full of love, compassion and empathy, more concerned about the needs of those around us than your own.
