Believe in the One

Image
Then they asked Him, “What are we to do, so that we may habitually be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered, “This is the work of God: that you believe [adhere to, trust in, rely on, and have faith] in the One whom He has sent.” — John 6:28-29 (AMP) Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. (John 6:47 NASB 1995) Yeshua came that we may have life, and that we may have it more abundantly. (See John 10:10 NKJV) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:16, 18 NKJV) The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for a...

Cling to Your Faith

Image
Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked. — 1 Timothy 1:19 (NLT) Make sure your faith is in Christ, the chief cornerstone. Always strive to have a clear conscience before God and before men, that you may avoid having your faith shipwrecked. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession... (See 1 Timothy 6:11-12 NASB1995)  I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; — 2 Timothy 4:7 (NASB1995)

Don't be Surprised

Image
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which is taking place to test you [that is, to test the quality of your faith], as though something strange or unusual were happening to you. — 1 Peter 4:12 (AMP) Jesus told His disciples that in this world we would have tribulation, distress and suffering. However, He says to be courageous and filled with joy. In Him, we may have perfect peace because He has overcome the world. (See John 16:33 AMP) Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. (Romans 8:37 AMP) May we consider our difficulties, troubles and trials as an opportunity to trust God. For we walk by faith, not by sight. (See 2 Corinthians 5:7) Let us lift up the shield of faith with which we will be able to extinguish all the fiery darts of the wicked one. (See Ephesians 6:16) Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, but the LORD rescues him from them all....

Avoid Shipwreck

Image
Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked. — 1 Timothy 1:19 (NLT) Cling to your faith in Christ and do not doubt nor waver. Lean completely on God with absolute trust and confidence in His guidance (see 1 Timothy 1:19 AMP). James 1:6 says, the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. (See James 1:8) Be anchored in Christ, our Savior, and avoid shipwreck. …we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; (Ephesians 4:14 NASB1995) Instead, let us speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. (See Ephesians 4:15 NLT) Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everythi...

Have Faith to Follow

Image
Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. — Matthew 14:28-29 (NASB1995) Peter got out of the boat when Jesus commanded him to come. As we listen for and follow the commands of our Lord and Savior, we will have our own walking on water experiences. However, we have to be willing to get out of the boat, our comfort zone and all that is familiar. No excuses. If He calls us to go out into the deep, may we carry out His instruction. When Peter saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”(See Matthew 14:30-31 NLT) When we look around at external circumstances, we get overwhelmed, anxious and begin to doubt. This will cause us to start sinking. So let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the Autho...

Trust God

Image
I know that I will live to see the LORD's goodness in this present life. Trust in the LORD. Have faith, do not despair. Trust in the LORD. — Psalm 27:13-14 (GNT) Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalm 34:8 NKJV) Instead of believing the lies of the enemy, set your mind on the Word of God and His goodness. His Word and truth are dependable as ever; (Psalm 119:90 MSG) If it feels like you're down in a pit and don't see a way out or imprisoned by the enemy’s lies, don’t despair. God is good. When you know the truth, the truth will set you free. Joseph had to go through the pit and the prison, but eventually God placed him in the palace. Have faith and trust God as you persevere the pit and the prison. And know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28 NLT)

Have Faith!

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.” — John 14:1 (NLT) In John 14:27 (NKJV), Jesus gives us another reminder: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” If Jesus, the Prince of Peace, is our Lord, why do we get so upset and distressed when troubles come our way? Jesus said He gave us His peace. Do we believe the world more than we believe the Word of God? While the disciples thought they were perishing, Jesus was able to sleep in the midst of the storm because He trusted in our heavenly Father. (Mark 4:37-38). “Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid, cowardly). Believe [confidently] in God and trust in Him, [have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and] believe also in Me. (John 14:1 AMP) [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.] (John 14:27 AMP excerpt)
