Shine Bright

Image
Do everything without murmuring or questioning [the providence of God], so that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish in the midst of a [morally] crooked and [spiritually] perverted generation, among whom you are seen as bright lights [beacons shining out clearly] in the world [of darkness], — Philippians 2:14-15 (AMP) “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; But the LORD will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you.” (Isaiah 60:1-2 NASB1995) No matter what you are going through let His light within you continue to shine. No grumbling or complaining.

No Complaining.

Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. — Philippians 2:14-15 (NLT) Instead of winning, complaining and grumbling, believers are to praise and give thanks to God at all times. Complaining dims the light in us and takes us down a dark path of looking at what is wrong, missing or lacking. Rather, keep your eyes on Jesus, the Champion who initiates and perfects our faith. (See Hebrews 12:2 NLT). Complaining is an indication that we do not have the right perspective of a situation. Remember, if you are in Christ, you are above your circumstances, not beneath them. When things seem to be going awry, trust YAHWEH. If we love God and are called according to His purpose, we can be confident that He will work everything together for good. (See Romans 8:28) If you are called according to His purpose, know that He’s got you. Nothing t...

Shine as Lights

Image
Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, — Philippians 2:14-15 (NASB) May there be no grumbling, whining or complaining, as we run the race the Lord has given us to run. Do not compare your course to your neighbor’s route. Instead, strip off every weight that slows you down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And run with endurance the race God has set before you. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. (See Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT) … press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. — Philippians 3:14 (NLT)

Be Content

Image
And we must not embrace their ways by complaining—grumbling with discontent … — 1 Corinthians 10:10 (TPT) Don’t whine, complain and grumble. Instead be content and trust God. Seek His wisdom and follow the leading of His Holy Spirit in all situations. Not that I speak from [any personal] need, for I have learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances. (Philippians 4:11 AMP) Do everything without murmuring or questioning [the providence of God], — Philippians 2:14 (AMP)

Keep Praying & Praising God

Image
After they had severely flogged them, they threw them in jail, ordering the jailer to guard them carefully. Receiving such an order, he put them into the inner prison and secured their feet in the stocks. — Acts 16:23-24 (CSB) About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. (Acts 16:25 CSB) Even after being severely beaten and thrown in jail, Paul and Silas were praying and praising God. They were not whining and complaining about how “ hard ” it was to serve God. They were not having a pity party or playing the victim role. What an example for us. Don’t let the troubles and hardships get you down. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the jail were shaken, and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s chains came loose. (Acts 16:26 CSB) Keep praying and praising God and He will loosen chais and open the doors that need to be opened for you.  Amen. The Father sent Jesus...

No Turning Back

Image
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. — Hebrews 12:1 (NLT) In order to run our race with endurance, we have to strip off the things that weigh us down. Strip off resentment, bitterness and offense. Lay aside strife, fault-finding and verbal abuse. Make a clean break away from whining and complaining. Proverbs 4:25-27 (TPT) says: Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions. Watch where you’re going! Stick to the path of truth, and the road will be safe and smooth before you. Don’t allow yourself to be sidetracked for even a moment or take the detour that leads to darkness. I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondro...

Praise & be Raised

Image
Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. — Philippians 2:14-15 (NLT) In her book, Battlefield of the Mind, Joyce Meyer states: “ The Israelites complained and remained in the wilderness. Jesus praised and was raised from the dead. ” Let us be like Jesus, continually praise and be raised. Philippians 4:6 instructs us not to be anxious or worry about anything, but in every circumstance to pray with thanksgiving. Complaining, murmuring and faultfinding, will hinder you. Prayer and praise is the way to go. Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. — Psalm 147:1 (NKJV)

Shine!

Image
Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, — Philippians 2:14-15 (NKJV) As children of God, may we be a reflection of His glory. We were all created to shine and let the glory of God in us, illuminate the world around us. Just as each star is unique, we all have our own way to shine and release the glory of God on the earth. Let us passionately pursue God's plan and purpose for our lives, without murmuring or questioning the providence of God.  The ways of right-living people glow with light; the longer they live, the brighter they shine. (Proverbs 4:18 MSG) Jesus said, “ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. ” (Matthew 5:16 NKJV)

Praise & be Raised

Image
Do all things without complaining and disputing, — Philippians 2:14 (NKJV) Numbers 11:1 says, when the people complained, it displeased the LORD. May we not grumble or complain. The Amplified Bible says, do everything without murmuring or questioning [the providence of God], (Philippians 2:14). Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! (Philippians 2:14 MSG) When we complain we remain, when we praise, we get raised (Joyce Meyer). May His praise continually flow from our lips, in all situations.

Wait Quietly

Image
Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. — Psalm 62:5-6 (NLT) Let us wait quietly for God to work all things together for good in our lives. Philippians 2:14 (NKJV) instructs us to do all things without complaining and disputing. The Amplified Bible says: do everything without murmuring or questioning [the providence of God].  Wait with expectation and confidence. Our God is faithful. He will fulfill every promise He has made. His word does not return to Him empty, without accomplishing what He desires, and without succeeding in the matter for which He sent it. (Isaiah 55:11 NASB) So wait quietly, your hope in God will not be disappointed.

Shine!

Image
Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. — Philippians 2:14-15 (NLT) Instead of whining, complaining and grumbling, let us speak positive, life-giving words, that encourage and build others up. In every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18 AMP). Be thankful for where you are today and trust God for your tomorrow.

“I will Rejoice”

Image
Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls— Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.  — Habakkuk 3:17-18 (NKJV) I would sum up this passage of scripture like this: Though circumstances are not perfect, I will rejoice in the LORD, my God. Instead of complaining and finding fault, let us continually give thanks and praise to our Mighty God. Colossians 3:15 (NLT) reminds us that we are to always be thankful.  We can rejoice and be thankful at all times because our heavenly Father is our provider and no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. (Psalm 84:11) I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. (Psalm 9:2 NKJV)

Rejoice & Be Glad

Image
This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. — Psalm 118:24 (NASB) This is the day the LORD has made. Let us do all things without complaining and disputing or grumbling (Philippians 2:14). May we live in grateful appreciation for all that God is doing in our lives. Every day of your life was recorded in His book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. (Psalm 139:16). Whatever you are facing today, God has a plan and what a wonderful, glorious plan it is! He will work it all together for good —the good, the bad and the ugly. Continually offer to God the sacrifice of praise from a grateful heart. And give thanks no matter what the circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

No Doubt

Image
“…Stop doubting and believe.” — John 20:27 (NIV) In Exodus 15:1-21, the Israelites were dancing and singing praises to God because He led them through the sea on dry ground and drowned their enemies. In Exodus 15:24, just three days into the wilderness they were complaining, then in Exodus 17:7 (NKJV) the children of Israel were saying, “ Is the LORD among us or not? ” Wow! How quickly can we see God do a mighty work in one situation and then when faced with another difficulty retreat back to a place of little faith? May we never doubt. It is a tool of the enemy. Doubt is deadly. It is a slow leak in the balloon of hope. With doubt, dreams die and hope fades away. Doubt paralyzes faith. James 1:6 (NIV) says, the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. If you are constantly blown and tossed by the wind, it will be difficult to reach your desired destination. Know that God is with you and He is for you. He intentionally knit you together in your mot...

This is The Day!

Image
This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. — Psalm 118:24 (NASB) When we let go of the regrets of yesterday and the worries about tomorrow, we are free to enjoy the present moment God has for us today. This is the day He has made. Every day of your life was recorded in His book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. (Psalm 139:16). So, do all things without complaining and disputing, (Philippians 2:14). Instead rejoice and be glad for the new mercies and compassions, the LORD poured out on you this morning. He has packed this day full of purpose and power just for you. Amen.

All His Will

Image
...He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’ — Acts 13:22 (NKJV) God said David was a man after His own heart, who will do all His will. Do you follow God wholeheartedly, doing ALL His will, or do you pick and choose what part of the Word, you will follow? My response to God this morning was, “Ouch!” Are we following Philippians 2:14, do all things without complaining and disputing? Do we cast all our cares on the Lord? Are we forgiving and letting no root of bitterness grow, in our garden of unconditional love? When challenged to do all His will, let us remember this: God was ALL in, when He gave His only Son as a sacrifice to save our souls from eternal damnation. Let’s be sold out for Jesus and be about the Father’s business 100%.

Love Suffers Long

Image
Love suffers long and is kind; — 1 Corinthians 13:4 (NKJV) God put these 3 words on my heart this morning: love suffers long. Then He added, do all things without complaining (Philippians 2:14). We do not like to suffer, but it’s a part of life. And we have the comfort of knowing that God will cause ALL things to work together for good. Like childbirth, we must go through the pain of delivery to enjoy holding a beautiful baby in our arms. How long must we suffer? As long as we need to. Labor times vary in duration. Tell yourself, “I will until!” Continue until what is in you has been birthed into reality. We live in a microwave, disposable society. We want everything quick and when something no longer works for us, we throw it away. Our God us above and beyond a crock pot, He is doing in us, a work of perfection, not to be rushed or taken lightly.

Shine!

Image
Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, — Philippians 2:14-15 (NKJV) It’s a matter of choice whether to continually complain or fill our mouths with thanksgiving to God, at all times. Instead of complaining about traffic, I thank God for waking me up this morning. I thank Him for the job I get to go to and the properly functioning car that gets me there. I appreciate the beautiful sunrise that God paints for me, on my way to work. Decide today to lay aside the fault finding and complaining and focus on all of the wonderful blessings God showers upon you, every moment of the day!

Watch Your Words

Image
And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?” — Luke 24:17 (NKJV) These two disciples were sad because they were discussing how Jesus had been condemned to death, and crucified. Our words will effect our moods. Acts 2:26 (NKJV) says, my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope. A glad tongue speaks of the good things God is doing and then the flesh can rest and be full of hope. Let us be mindful of the words we speak. Philippians 2:14-15 (NKJV) says, do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world. The Israelite people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the LORD, and when he heard them his anger was aroused (Numbers 11:1a NIV). Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with sa...

A Different Spirt

Image
But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it. — Numbers 14:24 (NKJV) In the school of ministry, we learned that “different” means next. While the other Israelites were ready to turn around and go back to the land of their captivity, Caleb was courageous and ready to conquer the enemies living in the promised land. Do you have a what’s next spirit or a what could have been spirit? Let us not have a critical, whining or complaining spirit like those who perished in the desert. The eyes of the LORD are constantly searching the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him (2 Chronicles 16:9). Even though circumstances don’t appear the way you thought they should, always be ready to move on and ask God “what’s next?”
