Manna for Your Morning

This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it. — Isaiah 30:15 (NLT) Return to the LORD, with all your heart, mind and soul. Prioritize Him with your time. Stop the busyness of all the thoughts racing in your head. Be still and acknowledge that the LORD is God. Stand in awe of His magnificence. We are not to rely on ourselves, but on our heavenly Father. The Message Bible says: … stop your silly efforts to save yourselves. Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on me— The very thing you’ve been unwilling to do . (Isaiah 30:15)

(Isaiah 41:13 NLT) Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left. (Isaiah 30:21 NLT) Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD. (Psalm 27:14 NLT)

But you would have none of it.” — Isaiah 30:15 (NLT) With today’s multi-tasking, always-on-the-go lifestyle, we are constantly caught up in a flurry of activities, that will serve as distractions and cause us to drift away from the LORD. May we remember to unplug and unwind. Return to Him and rest in quietness and in confident expectation, that He will enable you to do all that He has called you to do. Settle down in complete dependence on Him. “Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at me, your High God, above politics, above everything.” — Psalm 46:10 (MSG)

But you would have none of it.” — Isaiah 30:15 (NLT) Sometimes we wrestle with God for the steering wheel of our lives. We want to be in the driver’s seat and God wants us to rest in the passenger seat and enjoy the companionship of His presence as we journey together. At other times we want to put our feet on the accelerator and speed up the process, instead of patiently waiting and trusting God’s timing. Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on Him… (Isaiah 30:15b MSG). Let us return to the LORD, rest in Him and rely on Him, knowing that He is faithful to fulfill every promise and provide for every need.

…the people of Judah were victorious because they relied on the LORD, the God of their ancestors. — 2 Chronicles 13:18 (NIV) Because the people of Judah sought the LORD, He gave them rest on every side. So they built and prospered (2 Chronicles 14:7). Truly rely on the LORD. You will prevail over your enemies and prosper in the work of your hands. When we fully rely on God, He keeps us in perfect peace. Only in returning to the LORD and resting in Him will you be saved. In quietness and confidence (trust) in God, is your strength (Isaiah 30:15).
