Gain New Strength

Image
But those who wait for the LORD [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired. — Isaiah 40:31 (AMP) We gain new strength as we put our hope and expectation in God and stay close to Him. Trying to force situations to go a certain way in the strength of our flesh leads to frustration, weariness and disappointment. Pray and ask God to reveal His will. As we wait on the LORD for His direction, He gives us new strength to continue on, in spite of the challenges we face. As we wait for the LORD to give us the insight, to provide the answer, and to show us the way, we will run and not become weary and we will walk and not grow tired.

Take it by Force

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. — Matthew 11:12 (NKJV) I often wondered about these violent people who take the kingdom by force. I’m sure one of them was the woman in Mark 5:25-30, who suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. This woman has always intrigued me, more than the other people Jesus healed. The people who take the kingdom by force, probably gave everything to the world, at one ti...

Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand. You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. — Psalm 73:23-24 (NKJV) The Message Bible says: “ You wisely and tenderly lead me, and then you bless me. ” (Psalm 73:24). God does not force us against our will. He is gentle and compassionate. He speaks to us and patiently waits for us to listen and follow His wise counsel. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left (Isaiah 30:21). My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. (John 10:27). When we sync our steps with the LORD, we can walk in peace and confidence, knowing that He will never lead us astray.
