Finish with Joy!

But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. — Acts 20:24 (NKJV) Don’t be moved by the events that take place here on earth. They are here for a moment in time. God has given us a firm place to stand —on His Word, with all of His precious promises. His Word is truth and it lasts forever. Aim to finish your race and do it with joy. As we complete our course, He is with us and in His presence is fullness of joy. We can also rejoice in the fact that Jesus has already given us the victory. Amen!

May we never be moved by the events and external circumstances of this world. The way we live our lives is the loudest message we preach. May our lives, words and actions tell of the glory of our faithful God. In The Message version of Acts 20:24, the Apostle Paul says, “What matters most to me is to finish what God started: the job the Master Jesus gave me of letting everyone I meet know all about this incredibly extravagant generosity of God.” Never lose sight of the finish line! However, he was not moved. May we make it our aim to finish our race with joy. Don’t be moved by the light and momentary hardships we experience in this world. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NIV).
