Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. Let the whole world bless our God and loudly sing his praises. Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling. …We went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance. — Psalm 65:8-9,12 (NLT) Just as He was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the fiery furnace, the God Most High will be with you. (See Daniel 3:24-26) The fire had not touched them. Not a hair on their heads was singed, and their clothing was not scorched. They didn’t even smell of smoke! (See Daniel 3:27) In Isaiah 43:2 (NLT), the LORD says: “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” Hallelujah!  The two main points are that Yahweh is with you, and He will bring you through. So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him. — Isaiah 59:19 (NKJV) When the enemy comes in like a flood, remember, God is on our side and there are more with us than with the enemy. The battle belongs to the LORD, and He has given us the victory! “ Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him. With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah. (2 Chronicles 32:7-8 NKJV) Be strengthened by His Word today.

And I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News. — Philippians 1:12 (NLT) Just as in the Apostle Paul’s life, everything that has happened to us can serve to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and all that He has done in our lives. No matter what you have gone through, the greatest testimony of God’s faithfulness is that you are still here! He has not allowed the enemy to take you out. Whether it was a fire or a flood, He brought you through it! When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. (Isaiah 43:2 NLT)

Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. — 1 Kings 19:11-12 (NKJV) When there is a ripping, and a breaking in your life, remember that God is not in the earthquake, the fire, or the flood. Don’t let the noise of earthly events drown out the sound of His still small voice. After the fire, listen for the sound of a gentle whisper saying, “I love you. I’m going to take care of you. Trust Me, I got you.” He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Look to Jesus, whom the wind and the sea obey. (Mark 4:39-41) Call on the name of the LORD.  Who but God goes up to heaven and comes back down? Who holds the wind in his fists? Who wraps up the oceans in his cloak? Who has created the whole wide world? What is his name—and his son’s name? Tell me if you know! (Proverbs 30:4 NLT) What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31 NKJV) Amen!

“And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest?” — Luke 12:25-26 (NASB) When tempted to worry here are three things to remember. 1) God is with you. In the fiery furnace or in the flood, in stormy times and in times of trouble, His Presence is with you and He will bring you through. 2) The battle belongs to the LORD. Do not fret or be anxious. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He will do it (Psalm 37:5). Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him (Psalm 37:7). 3) He has already won the victory. In John 19:30 when Jesus declared, “It is finished!” the victory was accomplished. In Him we are more than conquerors. Just as He overcame, we overcome!

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. — 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand (Isaiah 41:10 NLT). We can be confident in our great God, that He will be with us in the flood and in the fire. He will lead is through all our troubles. Amen!

But I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more. — Psalm 71:14 (NKJV) No matter life brings your way, always have hope, in God. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us (Romans 5:5). Let His praises continually flow from your mouth. The very Presence of God inhabits the praises of His people. When the enemy comes in like a flood, turn up the volume on your praise. Never doubt the goodness of God. Our God is good, all the time, and He is working for your good!

If God hadn’t been for us —all together now, Israel, sing out! —If God hadn’t been for us when everyone went against us, we would have been swallowed alive by their violent anger, swept away by the flood of rage, drowned in the torrent; We would have lost our lives in the wild, raging water. — Psalm 124:1-5 (MSG) With God on our side, who can stand against us? No weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory (Deuteronomy 20:4, NIV). Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ (2 Corinthians 2:14, NKJV)!

Jesus said, “ Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock ” ( Luke 6:47-48, NKJV ). But everyone who hears the words of Jesus and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on sinking sand. If you are building on sinking sand, the moment floodwaters rise, what you have built will collapse into a heap of ruins. However, if you build on the solid Rock, what you’re building will not be shaken, when the storms of life hit.  For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? — Psalm 18:31 (NLT)

Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, — 2 Corinthians 1:9-10 (NIV) Don't rely on yourself and what you can do in your human strength, rely on God and what He can do in the supernatural. Only He can bring the dead back to life. What we can learn in all of our suffering and troubles is to trust God. He has delivered us and He will continue to deliver us again and again! When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD lifts up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19). Amen!

Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand. You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. — Psalm 73:23-24 (NKJV) The word, “nevertheless” speaks volumes. It says, in spite of anything and everything that comes our way, come hell or high water, we are still with the Lord. All our earthly possessions can be destroyed by fire or flood waters, but nothing can disrupt the wonderful relationship we have with our heavenly Father. Always seek to develop a deeper level of intimacy with Him. It is good for us to draw near to the Lord GOD for we are continually with Him.

If the LORD had not been on our side     when people attacked us, they would have swallowed us alive     when their anger flared against us; the flood would have engulfed us,     the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters     would have swept us away. Praise be to the LORD,     who has not let us be torn by their teeth. We have escaped like a bird     from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken,     and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the LORD,     the Maker of heaven and earth.  — Psalm 124:2-8 (NIV) Praise God that He is on our side! If the LORD be for us, who can stand against us? Call on the name of the LORD, that is where our help comes from. He has not brought you this far, to leave you now. Hallelujah!

The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever.  — Psalm 29:10 (NIV) No matter what storms come, our everlasting God is greater and bigger. He is above any trial, trouble or natural disaster that comes into our lives. In Isaiah 43:2 (NLT) God says, “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” Our heavenly Father is with us through it all and He will outlast all of the temporary circumstances of this world. My prayers go out to the families who have endured the fury of hurricane Isaac. May they know the LORD, that He is with them and that He is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. Amen.

For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You in a time when You may be found;  Surely in a flood of great waters they shall not come near him.  You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble;  You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.   Selah  — Psalm 32:6-7 (NKJV) When troubles comes flooding in, one wave after another, pray to the LORD. He is our hiding place. He protects and preserves us in the midst of trouble. Abba Father is a shelter in the storm, abide in Him.

The LORD then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood. — Genesis 7:1,7 (NIV) Because of Noah's faithfulness to the LORD, God provided a place of protection for him and his family while the floodwaters destroyed every living creature on the earth. Let us be found righteous in this generation. Second Chronicles 16:9 says, the eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.
