Come Hungry

“As for Mephibosheth,” said the king, “he shall eat at my table like one of the king’s sons.” — 2 Samuel 9:11b (NKJV) When King David was looking for one of Saul’s descendants to show the kindness of God to, Mephibosheth was hiding out in Lo Debar. After King David brought him to Jerusalem, Mephibosheth ate continually at the king’s table, like one of his sons. Are you trying to hide from the LORD? You are the son or daughter of the King. He continually knocks on the door of our hearts. He wants to come in and dine with us, that means close fellowship with the King of kings and the Lord of lords. What an honor and privilege!  That also means provision. The food He gives will sustain and nourish you. Come hungry and eat at His table today. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. (Revelation 3:20 NKJV)

Come & Eat

Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?”—knowing that it was the Lord. Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish. — John 21:12-13 (NKJV) This is now the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead (John 21:14 NKJV). This interaction Jesus has with His disciples really shows His heart for the sheep and His desire to fellowship with us. It exemplifies the concern and compassion He has for each and every one of us. Jesus cares about you and He wants to spend time with you. Revelation 3:20 says, He stands at the door and continually knocks. If you hear His voice and open the door, He will come in to you and dine with you and you with Him. Open the door of your heart and dwell among those who know Him. Don't Worry About It!

And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. — Luke 12:29 (NIV) “What I’m trying to do here is get you to relax, not be so preoccupied with getting so you can respond to God’s giving ” (Luke 12:29, MSG). Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom” (Luke 12:31-32, NLT). And His Kingdom is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17, NLT).

Eat What is Good!

Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.  — Isaiah 55:2 (NKJV) Let us feast upon the Word of God. Psalm 119:103 says, “How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” May we take in the Word of God and treasure it in our hearts, for His Word is life and it does satisfy!

Find Satisfaction

There is nothing better for people to do than to eat, drink, and find satisfaction in their work. I saw that even this comes from the hand of God. — Ecclesiastes 2:24 (GW) In Philippians 4:11-13, the Apostle Paul says “for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Let us learn to be content where we are, at this moment, and still strive to reach the goal God has assigned to each one of us. Instead of complaining and whining, focus on winning in every area of your life!

Dine with the King!

King David sent for him and had him continually eat at his table. In Revelation 3:20, Jesus said, “ Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. ” Are you hiding out, when you have been called to dine with the King of kings and the Lord of lords?

The Fruit of Your Mouth

 A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth;  From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.  Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:20-21 (NKJ) Keep negative talk far from your lips. Ephesians 4:29 says, do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. May the fruit of your mouth be sweet and life-producing for yourself as well as others. If you love life, speak rich and satisfying words and enjoy a good harvest.
