Who is the man who fears the LORD [with awe-inspired reverence and worships Him with submissive wonder]? He will teach him [through His word] in the way he should choose. — Psalms 25:12 (AMP) Psalms 25:1 (NLT) says: “O LORD, I give my life to you.” If we want to know the way we should go, it starts by making a decision to devote our lives to Yahweh. We need to be about fulfilling His plan and purpose for our lives, instead of trying to push our own agenda. His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. (See Isaiah 55:9) Let us learn His ways, which lead to life. The LORD is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way. (Psalms 25:8-9 NLT) If we humble our hearts and open our minds to Yahweh and His Word, we will learn His ways and follow wherever He leads us because we trust Him with our very lives. Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow...

The LORD is my light and my salvation— Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the refuge and fortress of my life— Whom shall I dread? — Psalm 27:1 (AMP) Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!) Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who fears the LORD [with awe-inspired reverence and worships Him with obedience], who delights greatly in His commandments. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. Walk straight—live well and be saved; a devious life is a doomed life. — Proverbs 28:18 (MSG) In order to live well, we need to walk in the way of wisdom. Wisdom will add years to your life. You are the one who will profit if you have wisdom, and if you reject it, you are the one who will suffer. (Proverbs 9:11-12  GNT) To be wise you must first have reverence for the LORD. If you know the Holy One, you have understanding. (Proverbs 9:10 GNT) The [reverent] fear of the LORD [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of wisdom [its starting point and its essence], (Proverbs 9:10a AMP) Let us wisely choose to trust and follow the LORD.

And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. — Matthew 17:14-15 (NKJV) This father humbly came to Jesus on behalf of his son and the child was cured that very hour (Matthew 17:18). Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. (Psalm 95:6) May we humble ourselves and kneel before the LORD. Kneeling is a reminder of our position before Him. He is above all. He is our Maker, the One who created us. He is worthy of our worship. Kneeling is a sign of submission, reverence, respect and honor. “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6) Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, (1 Peter 5:6).

…as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. — 1 Corinthians 2:9 (AMP) Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits (Psalm 103:2). We have so much to thank God for. He redeems our lives from destruction. He heals all our diseases and forgives all our iniquities. (Psalm 103:3-4). He woke us up this morning and sustains us with His breath of life. Today and everyday, we can also gratefully recognize our Moms. Thank God for the woman who gave birth to you, and for all the women who served as “Mother” in your life. Happy Mother's Day to all the women who have loved, supported and encouraged others.

Grow a wise heart—you’ll do yourself a favor; keep a clear head—you’ll find a good life.  — Proverbs 19:8 (MSG) Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. Everyone who obeys His commandments will grow in wisdom (Psalm 111:10). The Message version says: The good life begins in the fear of God. When we have the fear of the Lord, we honor, respect, value and reverence Him above anything or anyone else. That respect and adoration will draw us to align our actions with God's will. As we obey our Heavenly Father we will experience continual growth in spiritual wisdom and insight.  That is where we find the good life! Amen.

But if one loves God truly [with affectionate reverence, prompt obedience, and grateful recognition of His blessing], he is known by God [recognized as worthy of His intimacy and love, and he is owned by Him]. — 1 Corinthians 8:3 (AMP) Gratefulness goes beyond perfection. We are to have a grateful heart even when circumstances are not perfect. Gratitude is an attitude of the heart that is able to recognize the good in every situation. Even though you didn’t get the promotion, you can be grateful to still have a job. Being grateful is simply a choice we make to either complain about what we don’t have or be grateful for what we do have.

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. — Hebrews 12:14 (NIV) The Word of God instructs us many times, to be holy because the LORD, our God is holy. May we perfect holiness in our lives, out of reverence for God (2 Corinthians 7:1). James 4:17 gives us a simple definition of sin. If anyone, knows what is right but doesn’t do it, it is sin for them. Therefore, let us offer ourselves as slaves to righteousness which leads to holiness (Romans 6:19). “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” Imitate Him.

Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace. The number of people increased as people lived in the fear of the Lord and the comfort of the Holy Spirit. — Acts 9:31 (GW) The early church had peace when the believers lived in the fear of the Lord and the comfort of the Holy Spirit. May we live with a deep sense of reverence and honor for God. And be encouraged by the Holy Spirit, who dwells within us. He is our Helper and comforter. Then you will live in peace.

A sinner may commit a hundred crimes and yet live a long life. Still, I know with certainty that it will go well for those who fear God, because they fear him. Ecclesiastes 8:12 (GW) The LORD says, “those who honor Me I will honor,” (1 Samuel 2:30). When we sincerely reverence the LORD, with hearts that are fully devoted to Him and put Him first in our lives, it will go well with our souls. Isaiah 3:10 says, tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds.

"Yes, God, your God, dried up the Jordan's waters for you until you had crossed, just as God, your God, did at the Red Sea, which had dried up before us until we had crossed. This was so that everybody on earth would recognize how strong God's rescuing hand is and so that you would hold God in solemn reverence always." Joshua 4:24 (The Message) God completely stopped the water flowing from upstream and the Israelites crossed from the east side of the Jordan River on dry ground. When all of God's people stepped onto dry land, the water of the Jordan returned to its seasonal flood level. The LORD did this so that everyone in the world would recognize the strength and mighty power of His rescuing hand. Revere the Lord your God every day of your life. Show Him respect, honor and admiration. Worthy, worthy, worthy, is the LORD God Almighty!

He will bless those who fear the Lord, both great and lowly. May the Lord richly bless both you and your children. May you be blessed by the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 115:13-15 (NLT) The LORD blesses those who reverently fear Him. May you and your children be richly blessed as you choose to follow the LORD. If you obey the Lord your God, blessings will come upon you and overtake you. You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed. The LORD will send a blessing on everything you put your hand to. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. (Deuteronomy 28:1-14). Amen.

Then he saw wisdom and evaluated it. He set it in place and examined it thoroughly. And this is what he says to all humanity: ‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.’ ” Job 28:27-28 (NLT) Reverence the LORD and avoid all evil. True wisdom comes from God alone. He always knows what to do. Fill your heart and mind with wisdom through His Holy Spirit who dwells in you. As we gain a deeper understanding of God and His ways, we are more equipped to fulfill the wonderful plans God designed for each one of us.
