Manna for Your Morning

Then His disciples answered Him, “How can one satisfy these people with bread here in the wilderness?” He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?”  — Mark 8:4-5 (NKJV) What appeared to be lack to the disciples, fed four thousand people. They ate and were satisfied and the disciples took up seven large baskets of leftover fragments (Mark 8:8). We serve a God of more than enough. If you have been asking God "how?" look at the skills, talents and resources He has already given you. Thank God for them and start using them! He will provide whatever is lacking.

Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, thanked God for them, and broke them into pieces. He gave them to the disciples, who distributed the food to the crowd. — Matthew 15:36 (NLT) After Jesus gave thanks for the seven loaves of bread and a few fish, four thousand men, besides women and children all ate and were satisfied. Then, the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. (Matthew 15:37-38). May we always give thanks to God for all that He has provided. If we remain faithful with the little, in the face of apparent lack, we will be satisfied. We serve a God of more than enough. Amen!

The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing. — Psalm 34:10 (NKJV) Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance (Isaiah 55:2). They who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord [by right of their need and on the authority of His Word], none of them shall lack any beneficial thing (Psalm 34:10 AMP). We serve a God of more than enough. Let us desire His Presence more than the promises, and we shall lack no good thing.

After he took the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and blessed the food. He broke the loaves apart and kept giving them to the disciples to give to the people.  — Mark 6:41 (GW) Jesus fed more than five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish. All of them ate as much as they wanted and the leftover pieces, filled twelve baskets. Instead of looking at where you seem to be lacking, take what you DO have and look to Almighty God. Thank Him for what He has given you and ask Him to bless it. Our heavenly Father is the God of more than enough. The enemy would like you to believe you don't have enough, but God will show you His abundant supply. Keep looking up!

“For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There will always be flour and olive oil left in your containers until the time when the Lord sends rain and the crops grow again!” 1 Kings 17:14 (NLT) During a time of drought, the Lord sent the prophet, Elijah to a widow who only had a handful of flour and a little oil. She expected to eat her last meal and then die from hunger. But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son," (1 Kings 17:13). She did as Elijah said, and she, Elijah and her son ate for many days. There was always enough flour and olive oil left in the containers, just as the Lord had promised through Elijah, (1 Kings 17:15-16). Just a reminder: When hard times come, do not fear. The Lord is near. No matter how dire the circumstances appear, God will provide for all our needs. Amen.
