Why, Come?

Image
“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” — Matthew 2:1-2 (NASB) Jesus is always beckoning us to come to Him. Let us be like the wise men and come to bow down and worship King Jesus. Come to receive rest. In Matthew 11:28 (NASB), Jesus said,  “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Come to cast your cares upon Him for He cares for you. Come to receive salvation and be made whole. Let us be like the one leper in Luke 11:15-16, who was healed, and came back glorifying God and fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Jesus.

Speak or be Silent?

Image
There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven—  ....a time to be silent and a time to speak. — Ecclesiastes 3:1, 3:7b (NASB) Sometimes silence speaks louder than words. We have to discern when to speak and when to be silent. In Mark 15:2 (NKJV), Pilate asked Jesus, “Are You the King of the Jews?” He answered and said to him, “It is as you say.” Then in Mark 15:3 when the chief priests accused Him of many things, Jesus answered nothing. In Mark 15:4-5, they testified many things against Him, but Jesus still answered nothing. The only question Jesus gave validity to was about Him being King. Jesus did not defend Himself regarding false accusations. People may accuse you and testify against you, but hold your peace and let God fight your battles. Our God is King of kings and Lord of lords. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. (Psalm 37:6 NLT) My soul, wai...

COME TO WORSHIP

Image
“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” — Matthew 2:2 (NASB) When we come to Jesus, let us come to worship and adore Him. May our coming to Him not just be about giving Him our list of petitions, to get what we have asked of Him. Let us come with our ears open, to hear what He would speak to us. May we become more intimately acquainted with Him and continually grow in our relationship with Him. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, (Revelation 1:8). He is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6) Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand… (Psalm 95:6-7). Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom. We adore...

Give it All!

Image
“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” — Matthew 2:2 (NKJV) When the wise men saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. (Matthew 2:10-11 NLT). May we follow in the steps of the wise men. Let us be filled with joy as we gaze upon Jesus, the Bright and Morning Star. (Revelation 22:16). Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. (Psalm 95:6). And may our worship lead us to open the treasure chests of our hearts and give Him our all: our time, our talents and all that we hold dear.

Be Wise

Image
Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.” — Matthew 2:1-2 (NLT) After Jesus was born, the wise men saw His star, left their homeland, and made the journey to worship Him. He became a priority in their lives. No matter where we live, may our eyes be open to see the Light of the Lord and follow Him. As wise men and women, may we seek Him first in all that we do, and leave everything that concerns us in His mighty capable hands.

Worship the King!

“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” — Matthew 2:2 (NAS)  When the wise men saw Jesus, they fell down and worshiped Him (Matthew 2:11). Does Jesus sit on the throne of your heart as King? Is He the ruling authority in your life? Let us be sure to worship Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords (Revelation 17:14). He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, He who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty (Revelation 1:8). Glory Hallelujah!

The Ultimate Question

So Pilate again asked them, “Then what should I do with the king of the Jews?” — Mark 15:12 (GW) The question each of us must ask ourselves everyday is, “What am I going to do with Jesus?” The soldiers, chief priests and scribes made fun of Him. Pilate handed Him over to be crucified. Others rejected Jesus, while others bowed down and worshiped Him. The disciples accepted Jesus as the Son of God, their Lord and their Savior and affected the whole world with their faithfulness. What are you going to do with Jesus? The answer to this question marks your final destination for all of eternity as heaven or hell. When you choose to follow Jesus Christ, you choose life!

Wise Men Still Seek Him

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” Matthew 2:1-2 (NKJV) When the wise men set out to seek Jesus, they had to go on a journey. Even though they didn't get there in a day, they were determined to go and worship Jesus Christ, the King of kings. For months they stayed focused on their goal, despite any storms that may have come. And the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was (Luke 2:9). Today we can worship the Lord, right where we are. May we persistent in seeking to worship the Lord, in spirit and in truth. He is the Lord of lords! For unto us a Child is born. Unto us a Son is given; And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Princ...
