Wisdom from Above

Image
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. — James 3:17 (NLT) Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil. ( Proverbs 3:7 NASB1995) What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever. (Isaiah 5:21 NLT) If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. (James 1:5-6 NLT) First Corinthians 3:19 (NASB1995) says, the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. Let us seek the wisdom from above, coming down to us from the Father of lights.

Invite Him In

Image
Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah — Psalms 24:7-10 (NKJV) In Revelation 3:20 (NKJV) Yeshua says: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” His call is to anyone and everyone. Do you hear His voice? Respond to His call by opening the door of your heart and inviting Him to come in. He will not force His way in. Set your affections on Him and develop a deep and intimate relationship with our Savior and Redeemer, the King of kings and Lord of lords. He is Immanuel (God with us). (See Isaiah 7:14 AMP)

Cast Your Cares

Image
casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. — 1 Peter 5:7 (AMP) I appreciate that the Word says to “ cast ” our cares. When we throw something, we increase the distance between what is thrown and ourselves, versus just laying it down. And the very act of casting something requires us to let it go. Therefore, cast every care, every concern and all your anxious thoughts on God, and leave them there. Why? Because He tenderly cares for you. So, do not fret, and have no fear. He continually watches over you. Here’s what Yahweh says to you: “I know all about the marvelous destiny I have in store for you, a future planned out in detail. My intention is not to harm you but to surround you with peace and prosperity and to give you a beautiful future, glistening with hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 TPT) Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and a...

The Called & Chosen

Image
“These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.” — Revelation 17:14 (NASB1995) In his kindness, the God of all grace, called us to His eternal glory in Christ. (See 1 Peter 5:10) He called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light. We are a chosen generation. (See 1 Peter 2:9) Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. (Ephesians 1:4 NLT) Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance. (Psalm 33:12 NKJV)  We are the called and chosen, may we be faithful to Yahweh and obey His Word. Let us be faithful followers of Christ, all of our days. Ensure that He is always your first love. In Revelation 2:10 (NASB1995), Jesus said: “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Now thanks be to God who always leads us in ...

He Bears Our Burdens

Image
Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul, and all that is [deep] within me, bless His holy name. Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul, and do not forget any of His benefits; — Psalm 103:1-2 (AMP) One of God’s many wonderful benefits is that He bears our burdens, every day . Psalm 68:19 (NASB 1995) says, “ Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation. Selah. ” So, I ask, if God is bearing our burdens, why are we so determined to hold onto them? Each and every day cast all your cares, concerns and anxieties unto Him and do not pick them back up again. Every time you start to worry about something, just thank God that He has already worked that situation out.

Complete

Image
For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. — Colossians 2:9-10 (NLT) It is our union with Christ that completes us. In Him, nothing is missing and nothing is broken. He fulfills every need, and brings healing and wholeness. The Passion Translation says we are completely filled with God as Christ’s fullness overflows within us. (Colossians 2:10) Keep your hearts, minds, and ears open to God and He will fill you. The Message Bible says: Everything of God gets expressed in him (Christ), so you can see and hear him clearly. You don’t need a telescope, a microscope, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything. (Colossians 2:9-10) Come to Him today.

Long for the LORD

Image
Seek and deeply long for the LORD and His strength [His power, His might]; Seek and deeply long for His face and His presence continually. — Psalm 105:4 (AMP) In Ezekiel 36:26 (NLT) the Sovereign LORD says: “And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.” Respond to the LORD today. “From here on, worshiping the Father will not be a matter of the right place but with the right heart. For God is a Spirit, and he longs to have sincere worshipers who worship and adore him in the realm of the Spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24 TPT)

Favor for Life!

Image
For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him with favor as with a shield. — Psalm 5:12 (NASB) For His anger is but for a moment,  His favor is for a lifetime;  Weeping may last for the night, b ut a shout of joy comes in the morning.  — Psalm 30:5 (NASB) The righteous are surrounded by God’s favor and His favor is not just momentary, it lasts for a lifetime. Amen! The Voice Bible says, He lays all good things in the laps of the right-hearted. His blessings surround them like a shield. (Psalm 5:12 VOICE). His favor is not something we have to struggle and fight for, we just have to receive it. His favor will open doors for you that no man can shut. Praise God for His favor! For the LORD God is a sun and shield. The LORD grants favor and honor; he does not withhold the good from those who live with integrity. — Psalm 84:11 (CSB)

Trust God

Image
Commit your works to the LORD [submit and trust them to Him], and your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance]. — Proverbs 16:3 (AMP) We plan the way we want to live, but only God makes us able to live it. (Proverbs 16:9 MSG) Let us respond to God’s will and do things His way, then we will experience good success. Once you have done your part, be patient, and let the power of God work in your situation. Things may not always make sense to us. that is why Proverbs 3:5 tells us to trust in the LORD with all our heart, and lean not on our own understanding. Circumstances may not be favorable or fair, but we have the Most High God working on our behalf. It pays to take life seriously; things work out when you trust in God. — Proverbs 16:20 (MSG)

Stay Fresh & Flourishing

Image
Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing, — Psalm 92:13-14 (NKJV) We are to be planted in the house of the LORD. And Colossians 2:7 (NLT) says, “Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Jesus is the vine, we are the branches. He who abides in Jesus, bears much fruit; for without Him we can do nothing. (John 15:5) As we are planted and rooted in Him, we will stay fresh, we will flourish and be fruitful. The righteous will flourish like the date palm [long-lived, upright and useful]; They will grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic and stable]. (Psalm 92:12 AMP)

Hands Up!

Image
As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. — Exodus 17:11 (NIV) The Israelites defeated their enemies because Moses continually held his hands up to God. We will win our battles as we continually lift our hands up, in surrender to God and in praise of Him. Lifted hands are a sign of surrender, letting go and giving our cares to God. Raised hands indicate a submission to God, His Word and His ways. We also lift our hands to worship and praise our Heavenly Father. So get your hands up and start praising God for your victory! “The LORD will fight for you while you [only need to] keep silent and remain calm.” (Exodus 14:14 AMP)

Fix Your Eyes on God

Image
Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? Fix my eyes on God— soon I’ll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face. He’s my God. — Psalm 42:5 (MSG) When we feel depressed and overwhelmed, we have taken our eyes off of God and His promises and fixed them on our problems. However, the LORD’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love. (Psalm 147:11 NLT). Fix your eyes on God and He will lift you out of the pit of despair and set your feet on solid ground. The LORD is our helper. May your hope rest on His unfailing love.

Be Still & Know

Image
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! — Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) Take a long, loving look at God. For the LORD Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth (Psalm 47:2). Recognize and understand that He is above your circumstances. He is above everything! Know that He is greater than our enemies who work against us. We are of God and have already overcome them, because the one who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Amen!

Keep Coming

And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” — Luke 18:7-8 (NKJV) Jesus tells a parable about an unjust judge and a widow who kept coming to him, to show that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, (Luke 18:1). Jesus ends this parable by asking if He will find faith when He comes. I believe He asks this question because it takes faith to keep persistently praying and standing on the Word when everything we see with our eyes and hear with our ears says otherwise. Remember, this is the temporary stuff that will pass away. God's Word however, stands forever and God cannot lie. Sometimes, speedily doesn't come quick enough, on our time clock, but we have to exercise our faith and believe God. He will bring about justice for His people, who cry out to him day and night. Always pray and neve...

Be Still!

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. — Psalm 46:10-11 (NIV) Be still! Still your mind. Stop meditating on every thought that races through your mind, constantly trying to figure everything out. That is emotionally draining. Trust God to give you wisdom and guide you through His Holy Spirit, who dwells within you. First Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all our cares on Him. In the God's Word Translation Psalm 46:10 says, “ Let go of your concerns! Then you will know that I am God. ” It's only when we let go and let God work, that He can show us how truly amazing He really is.

Be Transformed!

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 (NLT) Instead of conforming to this world, let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. As we renew our minds with the Word of God, and let it take root in our hearts, we are transformed. We are changed from the inside out, to be more like our heavenly Father. When we get God's Word in us, He brings the best out of us and we have a positive influence on the world around us. Amen.

Our Refuge

My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:7-8 (NLT) In God, we are victorious. He is our place of protection and a safe shelter against those who want to harm us. Fully trust in the LORD at all times. No matter how doomed a particular situation may appear, we can be confident that God will work all things together for good.

Unfailing Love

"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed." says the LORD, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10 (NIV ) You may go through the furnace of affliction but the LORD's unfailing love for you will not be shaken. You may experience winds of adversity and stormy seas but His covenant of peace will not be removed. When all else fails you, know that you have God's unfailing love and His everlasting peace. No one can take it away.  Love, Jackie
