Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:  — Romans 8:35-36  (MSG) Despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. (Romans 8:37 NLT) None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us. No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by the Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people. — Romans 2:29 (NLT) When we open our hearts to Jesus, we need to lay on His surgery table and let Him cut away anything that is not of Him. While the cutting may involve some pain, it is pain with a glorious purpose. Let Him cut away the areas of your heart that have grown cold and hard, areas infested with unforgiveness, bitterness, and hatred. If we stay on the table of His grace and mercy, He will cut away pride, and give us a humble and grateful heart, that seeks praise from God and Him alone. So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? (Romans 8:31MSG). None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us.
