Manna for Your Morning

“ Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. ” — Revelation 3:20 (NASB) In Matthew 28:20, Jesus promises His disciples that He is with them always, to the end of the age. As believers, let us make sure we are with Him,  at all times. In Revelation 3:20, He invites the church (believers) to open the door and dine with Him. That is an intimate one-on-one time of fellowship, with the King of kings and the Lord of lords. May you keep the door of your heart open to Him, and invite Him into every area of your life. Open your mind to His Word, and let it continually transform you and change the way you think. Open your heart to receive His love and compassion, so you can share it with others. He is the good Shepherd, continually seek His guidance and follow Him wherever He leads. Amen.

“Don’t be afraid!” David said. “I intend to show kindness to you because of my promise to your father, Jonathan. I will give you all the property that once belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will eat here with me at the king’s table!” — 2 Samuel 9:7 (NLT) King David had Mephibosheth, Saul’s grandson, brought from Lo-debar. And Mephibosheth, who was crippled in both feet, lived in Jerusalem and ate regularly at the king’s table. (2 Samuel 9:13 NLT) Our heavenly Father sent His Son, to bring us out of the low valleys, deep pits, and dark places. Immanuel has drawn us, with lovingkindness, into His marvelous light. He summons us to come close to Him. In Revelation 3:20, He invites us to dine with Him daily.  He says: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” Abba Father prepares a table before you in the presence of your enemies. The king said, “Is there not yet anyone of the house of Saul to whom I may show the kindness of God?” And Ziba said to the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan who is crippled in both feet.” — 2 Samuel 9:3 (NASB1995) Mephibosheth was hiding out in Lo-debar but he was brought to King David. David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show kindness to you for the sake of your father Jonathan, and will restore to you all the land of your grandfather Saul; and you shall eat at my table regularly.” So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, for he ate at the king’s table regularly. (See 2 Samuel 9:7,13 NASB1995) We too have a King who wants to show us the kindness of God. He wants to restore us. Don’t try to hide from God, when we have been invited to dine daily with the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Accept the invitation and let Him in. Behold, I stand at the door [of the church] and continually knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him ...

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. — Revelation 3:20 (NASB) Jesus is continually knocking. Pay attention and have ears to hear His call. Open the door of your heart and invite Him in. Dine with the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He wants to bring healing and wholeness to every part of our hearts and every area of our lives. May we partake of the living Bread. In John 6:48 (AMP), Jesus said: “I am the Bread of Life [the Living Bread which gives and sustains life].” Let the Living Water satisfy your soul. In John 7:37 (NLT) Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!” “Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” (John 7:38 NLT) You spread out a table before me, provisions in the midst of attack from my enemies; You care for all my needs, anointing my h...

Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.” — Matthew 28:5-6 (NLT) Who do you look for? Seek Jesus, the Messiah, our Risen Savior, the One who touches and transforms lives. Look for Christ, the One who conquered sin, death and the grave. Matthew 28:1 (NLT) says:  Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb.  May we seek Jesus early. Don’t get started on your day until you spend some time with the Lord, dine with Him, feed on His Word and seek His will. Engage with Him,  not just early, but continually throughout your day. Luke 24:1, says the women came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. Today, let us bring our hearts to Him. May we prepare our hearts to receive our King. Let Him fill your heart with the sweet fragra...

We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. — Romans 6:6-9 (NLT)  We were set free from the power of sin, to live with Christ. Let us live with Jesus and not just visit Him on Sunday morning. Abide in Him 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; continually talk to Him. Dine with Him daily. When we open the door, of our heart, He will come in to us and dine with us. (Revelation 3:20) We are no longer at sin’s every beck and call! (Romans 6:6 MSG) Let us live for the glory of God! When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.  — Revelation 3:20 (NKJV) First, we need to have our ears open to hear His voice. Then, we can respond by opening the door of our hearts. How? By opening our mouths and asking Jesus to come in. By having the attitude, that He is welcome to stay, and enter each room. Let His marvelous light flood the dark crevices of your heart. Once He comes in, then let us take the time to dine with Him. May we feast on His Presence. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good. (Psalm 34:8a) He has a banquet already prepared for us. Instead of fear and anxiety, there is a platter of perfect peace. There are bowls of joy. In exchange for bitterness and unforgiveness, there is sweet compassion, and amazing grace. Instead of resentment, we have contentment in His Presence, as we dine with the King of kings.

Jesus followed up. “Yes. For there was once a man who threw a great dinner party and invited many. When it was time for dinner, he sent out his servant to the invited guests, saying, ‘Come on in; the food’s on the table.’ “Then they all began to beg off, one after another making excuses… — Luke 14:16-18 (MSG) In Luke 14:21-23 (NLT), the servant is sent out a second time. He went into the streets and alleys of the town and invited the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame. There was still room for more, so the servant was told to go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone he could find to come, so that his master's house would be full. Whether you are on the city streets or the country roads, the invitation goes out to you today. Jesus says to “Come!” Daily, we are invited to open the door of our hearts to Jesus. “As for Mephibosheth,” said the king, “he shall eat at my table like one of the king’s sons.” — 2 Samuel 9:11b (NKJV) When King David was looking for one of Saul’s descendants to show the kindness of God to, Mephibosheth was hiding out in Lo Debar. After King David brought him to Jerusalem, Mephibosheth ate continually at the king’s table, like one of his sons. Are you trying to hide from the LORD? You are the son or daughter of the King. He continually knocks on the door of our hearts. He wants to come in and dine with us, that means close fellowship with the King of kings and the Lord of lords. What an honor and privilege!  That also means provision. The food He gives will sustain and nourish you. Come hungry and eat at His table today. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. (Revelation 3:20 NKJV)

Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?”—knowing that it was the Lord. Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish. — John 21:12-13 (NKJV) This is now the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead (John 21:14 NKJV). This interaction Jesus has with His disciples really shows His heart for the sheep and His desire to fellowship with us. It exemplifies the concern and compassion He has for each and every one of us. Jesus cares about you and He wants to spend time with you. Revelation 3:20 says, He stands at the door and continually knocks. If you hear His voice and open the door, He will come in to you and dine with you and you with Him. Open the door of your heart and dwell among those who know Him. He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come. — Matthew 22:3 (NIV) Jesus tells a parable about a king who is having a weeding feast for his son. But those who were invited made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. (Matthew 22:5 NKJV). They were too busy doing their own thing, to partake of what the king had for them. In Revelation 3:20 (NKJV), Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Jesus is trying to get something to you. He has prepared the banquet table. Don’t make light of the privilege and honor to fellowship with the King of kings. Open the door of your heart.

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews?” — Matthew 2:1-2a (NKJV) The wise men were looking for Jesus. Who or what are you searching for today? Is your heart longing for more of Jesus? In Jeremiah 29:13, the LORD says, “you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” If you are seeking Jesus, take comfort in knowing that Jesus is near. In Revelation 3:20, He says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Come, dine with the King!

King David sent for him and had him continually eat at his table. In Revelation 3:20, Jesus said, “ Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. ” Are you hiding out, when you have been called to dine with the King of kings and the Lord of lords?

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” — Revelation 3:20 (NKJV) Inviting Jesus into your heart is not a one time event. We need to hunger and thirst for Jesus, the Living Word, on a daily basis. Keep the door of your heart open to Him everyday. Take time to fellowship with Him, feast on the Word, and listen to His voice. Out of all the voices you hear today, His voice is the most important one.

That warm, cozy feeling we get when come together and worship often dissipates before we make it out of the parking lot. There are 10,080 minutes in a week. What can be said in a 60-minute service that will sustain you for the rest of the 10,020 minutes? We must dine daily with the King of kings to get the strength we need to stand victorious in the trials and temptations we face. Sit at His feet, like Mary, and feast on His Word everyday.
