Manna for Your Morning

Don’t be obsessed with money but live content with what you have, for you always have God’s presence. For hasn’t he promised you, “I will never leave you alone, never! And I will not loosen my grip on your life!” So we can say with great confidence: “I know the Lord is for me and I will never be afraid of what people may do to me!” — Hebrews 13:5-6 (TPT) God is for you. And with Him on your side, who can stand against you? (See Romans 8:31) What can come against you? “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD. (Isaiah 54:17 NASB)

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” — Jeremiah 29:11  (NLT) So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you. — 1 Peter 5:6-7 (MSG) “Friend, don't become so discouraged in the delays that you give up on the pursuit of your purpose.” (From Tony Evans Bible Study on You Version) No matter where we are in the process of becoming all God designed us to be, remember that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28) Whether on a detour or headed straight toward our destiny, the Holy Spirit of God dwells within us and as we follow Him, He will lead us to our desired destiny.

Actually, I don’t have a sense of needing anything personally. I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am. — Philippians 4:11-13 (MSG) Let us be content regardless of the circumstances. Don't be moved or disturbed in difficult situations. Instead, trust God that He is able to bring you through whatever comes your way. He has equipped us for victory. We are more likely to live a fulfilling life when we seek our heavenly Father first, while passionately pursuing the purposes for which we were created. We are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of His house… (Psalm 36:8).

This is the kind of life you’ve been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step. He never did one thing wrong, Not once said anything amiss. They called him every name in the book and he said nothing back. He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right.  — 1 Peter 2:21-23 (MSG) When others do us wrong, our inclination is defend ourselves or strike back, instead may we be content to let God set things right in our lives. May we love God and put our time and attention into fulfilling the purpose to which He has called us.  And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. In Philippians 4:11, the Apostle Paul said he learned to be content. May we learn to be content with what we have and who we are. Comparing ourselves to others will only lead to discontent (being disturbed or uneasy), with what God has provided or with the way God made us. Each one of us is a unique creation of our heavenly Father, and He has given each one of us what we need to fulfill His purpose for us, on this earth. We don’t have to pretend to be something we are not. We are instructed to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Love and accept yourself, then you can love your neighbor. Now godliness with contentment is great gain. (1 Timothy 6:6 NKJV)

No matter how hopeless our current circumstances appear, we have God’s Presence, His promises and His mighty power, which is at work in us. Know that He has a purpose and a plan for your life that is good. Glory to God!

The Apostle Paul said, “I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation” (Philippians 4:12 NKJV). Part of being content is the art of surrendering to God’s perfect timing. God uses every situation we go through, and the pain and suffering we experience, to refine us and help prepare us for what’s next, as we go from glory to glory. It will all come together at just the right time, God’s appointed time. May we find contentment in every circumstance, knowing that God is working for our good.

Just as Death and Destruction are never satisfied,  so human desire is never satisfied. — Proverbs 27:20 (NLT) Now that the anticipation and excitement of Christmas Day 2013 has come and gone, we may look back and say, “if only...” The natural inclination of human desire is to want more. Let us be thankful and appreciative for the time we shared, the gifts that were exchanged, etc. In Philippians 4:11, the Apostle Paul says, he learned to be content in whatever state. May we do likewise.

There is nothing better for people to do than to eat, drink, and find satisfaction in their work. I saw that even this comes from the hand of God. — Ecclesiastes 2:24 (GW) In Philippians 4:11-13, the Apostle Paul says “for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Let us learn to be content where we are, at this moment, and still strive to reach the goal God has assigned to each one of us. Instead of complaining and whining, focus on winning in every area of your life!

I’ve learned to be content in whatever situation I’m in. I know how to live in poverty or prosperity. No matter what the situation, I’ve learned the secret of how to live when I’m full or when I’m hungry, when I have too much or when I have too little. I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:11-13 (GW) Learn the secret of how to be content in your inner being regardless of the external circumstances. This will lead to a peaceful attitude of appreciation and thankfulness to our heavenly Father for all that He provides. Whatever we have and wherever we are, we can make it through anything as long as we abide in Christ and follow Him wherever He leads.
