Excellent in Guidance

Image
“This also comes from the LORD of hosts, Who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance.” — Isaiah 28:29 (NKJV) Listen, O my people, to Yahweh’s instruction. Incline your ears to the words of His mouth. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30:21 NKJV) Where there is no [wise, intelligent] guidance, the people fall [and go off course like a ship without a helm], (Proverbs 11:14a AMP). Instead of wandering aimlessly through life, stay on the correct course, the proper path. Make your plans and prepare accordingly, in consistent consultation with Yahweh. He is faithful to show us the best way to go, the way that leads to a more abundant life, and He also gives us strength for the journey. The path of life leads upward for the wise; they leave the grave behind. — Proverbs 15:24 (NLT)

How Excellent is His Name!

Image
O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! — Psalm 8:1 (NKJV) Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the LORD our God (Psalm 20:7). Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth (Psalm 124:8). The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10). Your name, O LORD, endures forever, Your fame, O LORD, throughout all generations (Psalm 135:13). And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You (Psalm 9:10). Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together! (Psalm 34:3)

You were Chosen

However, you are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, people who belong to God. You were chosen to tell about the excellent qualities of God, who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. — 1 Peter 2:9 (GW) God chose you. He called you by name and brought you out of darkness and into His marvelous light. He took you out of the world and made you part of His royal family. While others may have rejected us, our heavenly Father accepted us, just the way we were. Declare His praises! Display His virtues. Tell others about the difference God has made in your life.

Think About These Things

Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Philippians 4:8 (The Message) Instead of dwelling on gossip and rumor, let us meditate on what is true, honorable and right. Fill your minds with the good, not the bad; the best and not the worst. We'll do best by elevating our thoughts to things that are worthy of praise. Love, Jackie
