He Goes Before You

Image
Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”  — Deuteronomy 31:8 (NLT) Who are those who fear the LORD? He will show them the path they should choose. (Psalms 25:12 NLT) The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” (Psalms 32:8 NLT) Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left. (Isaiah 30:21 NLT) May we obey the LORD our God as He shows us the way in which we should walk and the thing we should do. Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. (Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT) “Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow.”  — Psalms 25:4 (NLT)

Light Shines

Image
“Light shines on the godly, and joy on those whose hearts are right. May all who are godly rejoice in the LORD and praise his holy name!” — Psalms 97:11-12 (NLT) In John 9:5, Yeshua said: “While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.” In Matthew 5:14, He told His disciples: “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;” Wherever your journey through life takes you, be the light . As children of God we are to live clean, innocent lives, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. (See Philippians 2:15 NLT) Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 NASB1995) “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of Yahweh has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and dense gloom the peoples; But Yahweh will rise upon you, and His glory will appear upon you.”  — Isaiah 60:1-2 (LSB)

Girded with Gladness

Image
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness, that my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever. — Psalms 30:11-12 (NASB1995) Light is sown for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart. Be glad in Yahweh, you righteous ones, and give thanks for the remembrance of His holy name. (Psalms 97:11-12 LSB)  For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning. (Psalms 30:5 NASB1995) Be glad that our great God is able to change situations and circumstances. He is the One who lifts your head. (See Psalm 3:3 NASB1995) Whatever you're going through, He will bring you out on the other side. He turns our darkness to light. Isaiah 9:2 (NLT) says: “The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.” For once you were f...

The Fear of the LORD

Image
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever. — Psalm 111:10 (NKJV) The fear of the LORD is to hate evil. (See Proverbs 8:13 NKJV) The [reverent] fear of the LORD [that leads to obedience and worship] is a fountain of life, so that one may avoid the snares of death. (Proverbs 14:27 AMP) Proverbs 19:23 (NKJV) says, he who has the fear of the LORD will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them. (Psalm 34:7 NASB1995) In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, and His children will have a place of refuge. (Proverbs 14:26 NKJV) Praise the LORD! How blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in His commandments. (Psalm 112:1 NASB1995) Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways. (Psalm 128:1 NKJV)  Let all the earth fear the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the wor...

Commit Completely

Image
Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. — Romans 6:13 (NLT) Our generous and gracious God sacrificed His only Son and has given us His Holy Spirit, as our Helper and Comforter. Let your heart therefore be loyal to the LORD our God, to walk in His statutes and keep His commandments… (See 1 Kings 8:61 NKJV) For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. (See 2 Chronicles 16:9 NKJV) Caleb and Joshua entered the promised land because they wholehearted followed the LORD. (See Numbers 32:12) Joshua 24:14 says, to fear the LORD and serve Him wholeheartedly. May we commit ourselves wholeheartedly to the LORD and His Word. Those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That i...

Don't Doubt

Image
For we are those he cares for, and he is the God we worship. So drop everything else and listen to his voice! For this is what he’s saying: “Today, when I speak, don’t even think about turning a deaf ear to me like they did when they tested me at Meribah and Massah, the place where they argued with me, their Creator. Your ancestors challenged me over and over with their complaining, even though I had convinced them of my power and love. They still doubted my care for them.” — Psalm 95:7-9 (TPT) Listen to the voice of the Lord and do everything without complaining and arguing. (See Philippians 2:14 NLT) And never doubt that God cares for you. You can give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. (See 1 Peter 5:7 NLT)

Better Days Ahead

Image
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” — 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NLT) … we are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18b AMP)  The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day. (Proverbs 4:18 NASB) In God, the best is yet to come. Don't give up. For from days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides You, Who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him. — Isaiah 64:4 (NASB)

Count it all Joy

Image
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, — James 1:2 (NASB) Instead of looking for perfect circumstances, look to the perfect One, Jesus. He said, “ Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart (be of good cheer), because I have overcome the world. ” (John 16:33) Instead of focusing on the problem, take comfort in His Presence and stand on His promises. Romans 8:28 (NASB) says, God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. — James 1:2-4 (MSG)

What are you saying?

Image
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words. — Proverbs 18:21 (AMP) Wisely choose the words you speak. The Amplified Bible reminds us that we bear the consequences of the words we speak. In Matthew 9:20-21, the woman who had suffered from a discharge of blood for twelve years came up behind Jesus and touched the fringe of his garment, for she said to herself , “If I only touch his garment, I will be made well.” She received her healing. What are you saying to yourself? In Luke 7:7, the centurion told Jesus, “I did not even consider myself worthy to come to You, but j ust say the word , and my servant will be healed.” In Luke 7:10, his servant was found in good health. Speak words of life, and lives will be changed. James 3:9-10 says, with our tongues we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; from the same mouth come both bl...

Choose the Good Part

Image
And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” — Luke 10:41-42 (NKJV) If you are worried and bothered about so many things, cast all your cares on the Lord. Psalm 68:19 (NIV) says, He daily bears our burdens. Instead of putting all your efforts into things that have no eternal value, choose that good part. Mary, seated herself at the Lord’s feet and was continually listening to His teaching. (Luke 10:39 AMP) When we stay close to Jesus and follow His teaching we experience fullness of joy and peace. We will live the abundant life and draw others into the loving arms of God. That changes the world in the eternal realm.

What a God!

Image
What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! — 1 Peter 1:3-4 (MSG) We are abundantly blessed because God is with us and He is for us. Thank God for the brand-new life we have in Christ. Praise Him for His breath of life in your lungs and the new mercies He poured out on you this morning. He has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. We can shed what is left of the old, dead life and embrace what God is doing in our lives today. What He has planned for us is much better than anything we could ever think or imagine.

Come Home!

Image
As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. — Ezekiel 34:12 (NIV) I will search for my lost ones who strayed away, and I will bring them safely home again. I will bandage the injured and strengthen the weak (Ezekiel 34:16a NLT). If you have lost your way in the storms of life and strayed away from our heavenly Father, just know, He is calling you to come back into fellowship with Him. We were created to dwell in His Presence and that is where we will thrive and grow whole, strong and healthy. He welcomes you to come home, today!

Surrounded & Secure!

Image
Those who trust in the LORD are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever. Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, both now and forever . — Psalm 125:1-2 (NLT) Whatever you go through today, remember, the LORD has you surrounded NOW and forever! He has you covered on every side. Psalm 5:12 (NLT) says, He blesses the godly and surrounds us  with His shield of love. He is our hiding place; He protects us from trouble and surrounds us with songs of victory (Psalm 32:7 NLT). In His care, we are surrounded and secure. Hallelujah & Amen!

Great is God's Goodness!

Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The goodness of God endures continually.  — Psalm 52:1 (NKJV) The LORD, the LORD God, is merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth (Exodus 34:6). He forgives all your iniquities, heals all your diseases, redeems your life from destruction, and crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies (Psalm 103:3-4). The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy (Psalm 103:8). Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for great is His goodness toward us!

Dine with the King

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” — Revelation 3:20 (NKJV) Inviting Jesus into your heart is not a one time event. We need to hunger and thirst for Jesus, the Living Word, on a daily basis. Keep the door of your heart open to Him everyday. Take time to fellowship with Him, feast on the Word, and listen to His voice. Out of all the voices you hear today, His voice is the most important one.

What's in Your Heart?

God does not see as humans see. Humans look at outward appearances, but the Lord looks into the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 (GW) People judge by outward appearance, but God looks into our hearts. First Chronicles 28:9 says, the LORD searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. Does our heavenly Father and His loving nature dwell in your heart? Do you love your enemies and forgive those who wrong you? Let us be men and women after God's own heart.

We are His

Give thanks to the Lord and pray to him. Tell the nations what he has done. Sing to him; sing praises to him. Tell about all his miracles. Be glad that you are his; let those who seek the Lord be happy. 1 Chronicles 16:8-10 (NCV) Let us be glad that we belong to the LORD. He chose us in Him before the creation of the world (Ephesians 1:4, NIV) and adopted us into His family. We received His Spirit of sonship and can cry out "Abba Father" (Romans 8:15, NIV). There is no better place for us, than in the hands of the One who formed us. He loves us and wants us close to Him. Look to the LORD and be happy. As long as you rely on Him, you will not be disappointed. It is in Him that we find complete satisfaction.

He Leads Us

Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 2 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJ) God leads us but we must choose to follow Him. As we abide in Christ and follow God we can be certain He will lead us into victory. With all wisdom, God sees the big picture and causes us to overcome obstacles and triumph through trials. Thank God for giving us sweet success. Love, Jackie
