Thus says the LORD, Who makes a way through the sea and a path through the mighty waters, “Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” — Isaiah 43:16, 18-19 (NASB1995) YAHWEH knows how to rescue His people. He brought the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, by opening the waters and making a dry path through the sea. He drowned all of their enemies. (See Isaiah 43:17) God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him. (See 2 Peter 2:7 NLT) So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment. I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” — Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV) Many of us seek security in doing things the way we have always done them, but God is doing a new thing. Instead of trying to keep Him in the box of what He did yesterday, let God be the Lord of our lives and expect Him to do a new thing, something we have never seen before. We don't need to figure everything out on our own, we just need to walk in the way the LORD directs us to. Even though you don’t see the whole journey mapped out before you, be confident that God is making a way to get you from where you are today to the land He promised you.
