Listen & Live

Image
“ Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your earnings for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight in abundance. ” — Isaiah 55:2 (AMP) In Isaiah 55:3 (NLT), the LORD says: “Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.” Incline your ear to hear the Word of Yahweh, more than the negative news of this world. His Word gives life. (See Psalms 119:50 NKJV) His Word is a source of hope. The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul… (See Psalms 19:7 NLT). Open your eyes to see the wonderful truths in His instructions. And may you hide his word in your heart that you may not sin against Him. (See Psalms 119:18 & 11 NLT)

Fear the LORD

Image
Praise the LORD! How joyful are those who fear the LORD and delight in obeying his commands. Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed. They themselves will be wealthy, and their good deeds will last forever. Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous. — Psalms 112:1-4 (NLT) Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil. (Proverbs 3:7 NKJV) Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor. (Psalms 112:6-9 NLT) Who is among you that fears Yahweh, that listens to the voice of His Servant, that walks in darkness and has no light? Let him t...

He Calms Our Fears

Image
“For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” — Zephaniah 3:17 (NLT) …God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV) And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. (1 John 4:17-18 NLT) Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For YAH, the LORD, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’ Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” — Isaiah 12:2-3 (NKJV)

Rejoice Always?

Image
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! — Philippians 4:4 (NKJV) How can we maintain a continually joyful attitude? By practicing Philippians 2:14 (NKJV): ...do all things without complaining and disputing. And by abiding in our Lord and Savior, King Yeshua. He says: “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” He will never leave us nor forsake us. Ecclesiastes 11:8 (NASB1995) says: Indeed, if a man should live many years, let him rejoice in them all, and let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many. Even when we are walking through those dark valleys, we can be joyful that Yeshua is with us, and He has already overcome the world. Psalms 5:11 (AMP) says: let all who take refuge and put their trust in the LORD rejoice, let them ever sing for joy; because He covers and shelters us, let those who love His name be joyful and exult in Him. May we worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. (See Philippians ...

Rejoice!

Image
Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice! — Philippians 4:4 (AMP) James 1:2-4 (NLT) says: “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” Our joy is not to be based on the fluctuating circumstances of our lives. We experience fullness of joy in the Presence of Yahweh and He is always with us. No matter what season of life you are going through, have continual and contagious joy. Let your joy overflow and spill out onto those around you. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!” (See Nehemiah 8:10 NLT) We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always...

Come

Image
“Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and delight yourself in abundance. Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, according to the faithful mercies shown to David.” — Isaiah 55:2-3 (NASB1995) Yahweh is continually calling us to come to Him. How are we to come? Humbly, with an open heart, ready to let His unfailing love wash away anything that is not of Him - bitterness, unforgiveness, pride, selfishness, etc. Come with open hands, ready to receive all that He so generously gives. Come with an open, teachable mind so it can be renewed with the Word of God. Come with ears that are open to hear His still small voice. We may come wounded and broken but He heals and restores and makes us whole. “Seek Yahweh while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thought...

Delight in the LORD

Image
Now the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the former ways of his father David; he did not seek the Baals, but sought the God of his father, and walked in His commandments and not according to the acts of Israel. — 2 Chronicles 17:3-4 (NKJV) Second Chronicles 17:6 says: Jehoshaphat’s heart took delight in the ways of the LORD; moreover he removed the high places and wooden images from Judah. He had the Levites and the priests go throughout all the cities of Judah, with the Book of the Law of the LORD and they taught the people. (See 2 Chronicles 17:7-9) Yahweh is faithful to His Word, and He greatly blessed Jehoshaphat. Yahweh established the kingdom in his hand, and all Judah brought presents to Jehoshaphat, and he had great riches and honor. (See 2 Chronicles 17:5 LSB) And the fear of the LORD fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they did not make war against Jehoshaphat. (2 Chronicles 17:10 NKJV)  Delight yourself also in the LORD, a...

Brought Near

Image
But now [at this very moment] in Christ Jesus you who once were [so very] far away [from God] have been brought near by the blood of Christ. — Ephesians 2:13 (AMP) Delight in the nearness of God. Don’t let the distractions of this world cause you to drift away from your Heavenly Father. It is good for us to draw near to God; Make the Lord GOD your refuge and place your trust in Him, that you may tell of all His works. (See Psalm 73:28 AMP) In Matthew 15:7-8, Jesus said: “You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from Me.’” Let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. (Hebrews 10:22 NASB1995)

Delight in the LORD

Image
Delight yourself in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart. — Psalm 37:4 (NASB1995) When we delight ourselves in the LORD, the greatest desire of our hearts is for more of Him. One thing I have asked of the LORD, and that I will seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD [in His presence] all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. (See Psalm 27:4 AMP/NLT) As I read in a devotion this morning, instead of seeking perfection in this fallen world, let us pour our energy into seeking God, the Perfect One. He is much less interested in right circumstances than in right responses to whatever comes our way. O taste and see that the LORD [our God] is good; How blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who takes refuge in Him. — Psalm 34:8 (AMP)

Mighty Savior!

Image
“ For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs. ” — Zephaniah 3:17 (NLT) Our God is Immanuel. He is alive and He lives among His people. He is a mighty Savior. Jesus saves us from the penalty of our sins. The LORD is a good Father, Who delights over His children with gladness. His perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). Be strong, and courageous, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). “I, even I, am the LORD, and there is no savior besides Me.” — Isaiah 43:11 (NASB)

Be Joyful

Image
Rejoice always and delight in your faith; — 1 Thessalonians 5:16 (AMP) “Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!” (Nehemiah 8:10b NLT) James 1:2 (NASB) says: Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials. Why be joyful? It is your strength to fight the good fight of faith and fulfill the purposes and plans God has for you. Joy gives you strength to resist the devil and live a victorious life. We can be joyful because we have the love and Presence of our everlasting Father. We can rejoice because we know He will make a way. We can be joyful because with our great God, all things are possible. Nothing can stand against our awesome God. Amen. Let joy be your continual feast. — 1 Thessalonians 5:16 (TPT)

Good Success

Image
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD,  and in His law he meditates day and night. — Psalm 1:1-2 (NKJV) When we meditate on the Word of God, our thoughts are elevated from our ways to His way and we can see things from His, much higher perspective. Let His Word permeate your mind and hide it in your heart, and you will be blessed and have good success, when you follow it. Joshua 1:8 says: This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (NKJV) How well God must like you— you don’t hang out at Sin Saloon, you don’t slink along Dead-End Road, you don’t go to Smart-Mouth College. Instead you thrill to God’s Word, you chew on Scripture day and ni...

Eternal Pleasures

Image
You reveal the path of life to me; in your presence is abundant joy; at your right hand are eternal pleasures. — Psalm 16:11 (CSB) Zephaniah 3:17 (NLT) says: “For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Just as our heavenly Father delights in us, let us be filled with joy in His Presence, and know that He lives among us. Our culture values the freedom to pursue happiness, and we can only experience true joy as we continually abide in His Presence. It's in His Presence alone, that we are above every circumstance and situation. Amen. I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; I have no good besides You.” (Psalm 16:2 AMP) … You direct me on the path that leads to a beautiful life. As I walk with You, the pleasures are never-ending, and I know true joy and contentment. — Psalm 16:11 (VOICE)

Delight Yourself in the LORD

Image
Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. — Psalm 37:4 (NASB) May our heart's desire be for more of our Heavenly Father. Only God can satisfy the deep longing of your soul. Delight yourself in Him, in His Presence and in His Word. He will show you the path of life; In His presence is fullness of joy; At His right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11)  In His Presence we have the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding. It will stand guard over your heart and mind through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7) In Him, we have a constant Companion. We are precious in His sight and His thoughts of us outnumber the grains of sand! (Psalm 139:18) May we think of Him as often as He thinks of us.

It’s Your Choice to Rejoice

Image
Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice! — Philippians 4:4 (AMP) Make a daily decision to delight yourself in the Lord. Because we always have the LORD, our God, with us, we always have reason to rejoice. You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever. (Psalm 16:11 NASB) As we abide in the Presence of the LORD, we can experience fullness of joy. Today, choose JOY! Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! ( Philippians 4:4 MSG) So the ransomed of the LORD will return and come with joyful shouting to Zion, and everlasting joy will be on their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. — Isaiah 51:11 (NASB)

Abundant Joy & Peace

Image
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. — Romans 15:13 (NLT) “ Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance. ” (Isaiah 55:2 NKJV) Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalm 34:8) Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55:6) The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does (Psalm 145:13b NLT). He satisfies the desire of every living thing. (Psalm 145:16 NKJV) May you go out with everlasting joy and be led forth with perfect peace, as you trust in our great and mighty God.

Commit Your Way

Image
Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. — Psalm 37:4-5  (NKJV) Proverbs 28:26 (NLT) says, those who trust their own insight are foolish, but anyone who walks in wisdom is safe. It is wise for us to commit our way to the LORD. As you make your plans for the new year, do not rely on your own insight or understanding. Commit your works to the LORD [submit and trust them to Him], and your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance]. (Proverbs 16:3 AMP) You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail. (Proverbs 19:21 NLT) Submit to His will and His way and you will experience the good plans He has in store for you. Amen.

Be Still & Wait

Image
Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. — Psalm 37:7 (NLT) For evildoers will be cut off, but those who wait for the LORD, they will inherit the land. — Psalm 37:9 (NASB) Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.  (Psalm 37:1-6 NKJV)

Be Thankful

Image
Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. — 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (AMP) Our heavenly Father woke us up this morning, so we have something to be thankful for. May I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. (Psalm 103:2-5 NLT) Let us be thankful and always remember the good things our heavenly Father does for us. Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name. (Hebrews 13:15 NASB)

Stay with God!

Image
The one thing I ask of the LORD— the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. — Psalm 27:4-5 (NLT) Our heavenly Father is not a dead beat dad. He is alive. He is willing and He is able to handle all of your concerns. He is the ultimate source of all we need, want and desire. While others may cast you aside, the LORD adopts you as His child. Psalm 27:10 (MSG) says, “ My father and mother walked out and left me, but God took me in. ” Don’t despair when people mistreat you. Abide in peace, because we have God’s protection, His provision and most important of all, His Presence. Circumstances may not always be perfect, but our heavenly Father is, and He has a good plan for your life, to give you a future and a hope. I’m sure now I’ll see God’s goodness ...
