Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.” So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. — Matthew 15:34-36 (NKJV) When everyone was full and satisfied, they gathered up the leftovers. And from what was once seven loaves and a few fish, they filled seven baskets! There were four thousand men who ate the food Jesus multiplied, and even more including the women and children!  — Matthew 15:37-38 (TPT) When we are grateful and give thanks to God for what He has already provided, the windows of heaven are open to pour out more than enough, to meet the need. However, this miracle feeding of over 4,000 people began in the heart of Jesus, when He had compassion. “Yet even now,” declares the LORD,  “Return to Me with all your heart,  and with fasting, weeping and mourning; And rend your heart and not your garments.” Now return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness and relenting of evil. — Joel 2:12-13  (NASB) Instead of coming to our heavenly Father with external signs or customs, come to Him with a sincere and humble heart. Open your heart to Him, so His grace, mercy, and love can infiltrate it and transform your life. He will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten. “ You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall never be put to shame. ” (Joel 2:26 NKJV)

Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men! — Psalm 31:19  (NKJV) The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD. (Psalm 33:5b) Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! (Psalm 107:21) The goodness of God endures continually. (Psalm 52:1) I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13) “My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the LORD.” (Jeremiah 31:14) The LORD is good to all (Psalm 145:9). Surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life; and you will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (Psalm 23:6) Let us proclaim, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth…” (Exodus 34:6 NKJV).

O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. — Psalm 63:1 (NKJV) When we hunger and thirst for God, we shall be satisfied. Seek Him early, before you get caught up in the spiral of daily events. The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail (Isaiah 58:11 NIV). As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. (Psalm 42:1-2a NKJV)

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? — Psalm 42:1-2 (NKJV) Thirst for the living God and you shall be satisfied. In John 7:37, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.”  Drink in His grace, His goodness and His tender mercy. Sip on His mighty strength, His unfailing love, and His constant peace that surpassing all understanding. Consume His compassions, which are brand new every morning. When will you appear before God? He is waiting for you.

For I will [fully] satisfy the weary soul, and I will replenish every languishing and sorrowful person. — Jeremiah 31:25 (AMP) As we abide in His Presence, our heavenly Father fully satisfies our weary souls. His Holy Spirit dwelling in us, empowers us with everything we need to successfully navigate our way through each moment of the day. He gives us strength for every struggle. Put your hand in His and let Him be your guide. He alone is the source of our peace, and joy and only in His Presence will we be fully satisfied and fulfilled.

But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign LORD my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do. — Psalm 73:28 (NLT) Let let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings (Hebrews 10:22, NIV). Psalm 73:28 in The Message says, I’m in the very presence of God—oh, how refreshing it is! Our weary souls are revived in the Presence of the LORD. In His presence is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). There is no greater delight on earth, or in heaven than the joy of daily abiding in His Presence all of our days! We are abundantly satisfied with His goodness, when we make the LORD our shelter. Come close to God, and God will come close to you (James 4:8, NLT)

Just as Death and Destruction are never satisfied,  so human desire is never satisfied. — Proverbs 27:20 (NLT) Now that the anticipation and excitement of Christmas Day 2013 has come and gone, we may look back and say, “if only...” The natural inclination of human desire is to want more. Let us be thankful and appreciative for the time we shared, the gifts that were exchanged, etc. In Philippians 4:11, the Apostle Paul says, he learned to be content in whatever state. May we do likewise.

Then His disciples answered Him, “How can one satisfy these people with bread here in the wilderness?” He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?”  — Mark 8:4-5 (NKJV) What appeared to be lack to the disciples, fed four thousand people. They ate and were satisfied and the disciples took up seven large baskets of leftover fragments (Mark 8:8). We serve a God of more than enough. If you have been asking God "how?" look at the skills, talents and resources He has already given you. Thank God for them and start using them! He will provide whatever is lacking.

Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, thanked God for them, and broke them into pieces. He gave them to the disciples, who distributed the food to the crowd. — Matthew 15:36 (NLT) After Jesus gave thanks for the seven loaves of bread and a few fish, four thousand men, besides women and children all ate and were satisfied. Then, the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. (Matthew 15:37-38). May we always give thanks to God for all that He has provided. If we remain faithful with the little, in the face of apparent lack, we will be satisfied. We serve a God of more than enough. Amen!

What the chewing locust left, the swarming locust has eaten; What the swarming locust left, the crawling locust has eaten; And what the crawling locust left, the consuming locust has eaten.  — Joel 1:4 (NKJV) Have you ever felt like the fruit of your work has been chewed up by crawling locusts or maybe your seed/money is consumed by the swarming locusts? Just keep trusting and walking in obedience with the LORD. He says, “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust,” (Joel 2:25). You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And His people shall never be put to shame (Joel 2:26).

You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance. — Psalm 65:11 (NKJV) God has wrapped His goodness around this year. The LORD abounds in goodness and truth, mercy and grace. And His goodness endures continually (Psalm 52:1). Believe that you will see the goodness of the LORD, in the land of the living. The LORD says, “My people shall be satisfied with My goodness,” (Jeremiah 31:14). For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with great goodness (Psalm 107:9). Surely His blessings of goodness and mercy shall fall upon you in abundance, as you follow the steps of the LORD, on the path of life. Let us proclaim 2013 as the year of God’s bounty. The year of abundant goodness and grace. A year that we are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of His house (Psalm 36:8). That we may have an abundance for every good work God has given us to do (2 Corinthians 9:8). Amen!

I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. I spread out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah  — Psalm 143:5-6 (NIV) Are you journeying through a dry land? When your soul thirsts for the Lord, it shall be satisfied. He is the Living Water. Jesus says, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink,” (John 7:37). He is the spring of living water. Let him who thirsts come and drink!

How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. — Psalm 36:7-8 (NKJV) God crowns us with His precious lovingkindness and tender mercies (Psalm 102:4). Praise the LORD for His lovingkindness which He pours upon us in abundance, each and every day. It is better than life! (Psalm 63:3) He loves us with an everlasting love that never fails. While others may run out on you, His love remains, unshakeable and unchanging.

 A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth;  From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.  Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:20-21 (NKJ) Keep negative talk far from your lips. Ephesians 4:29 says, do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. May the fruit of your mouth be sweet and life-producing for yourself as well as others. If you love life, speak rich and satisfying words and enjoy a good harvest.

How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light. Psalm 36:7-9 (NKJ) No price can be put on the precious love we have in God. His love never fails. Let us abide under the shadow of His wings. When we take up residence in God, we are abundantly satisfied. He is the fountain of true and eternal life. Drink from the river of His delights. In His light we can clearly see.

Then Jesus took the five loaves of bread and two fish, and looking up to heaven, he thanked God for the food. Then he divided the food and gave it to the followers to give to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and what was left over was gathered up, filling twelve baskets. Luke 9:16-17 (NCV) Jesus fed 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and two fish. While our resources may seem scarce, we can still share our blessings with others. When we look up to our heavenly Father with a grateful heart and thank Him for what He has given us, we find true contentment and lasting satisfaction.

Jesus told the people to sit on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves, gave thanks to God, and divided the bread. He gave the pieces to his followers to give to the people, and they did so. The followers also had a few small fish. After Jesus gave thanks for the fish, he told his followers to give them to the people also. All the people ate and were satisfied. Then his followers filled seven baskets with the leftover pieces of food. Mark 8:6-8 (NCV) Jesus thanked God for the seven loaves of bread and few small fish they had and they fed more than 4,000 people. These people didn't just have a little snack. They ate until they were fully satisfied and the disciples filled seven baskets with the leftovers. This is a good lesson in focusing on what you do have instead of what you are lacking, and relying on God no matter how the circumstances appear. Let us thank God for the little we have, and He will provide more than enough.
