Listen to Wisdom

Image
Make your ear attentive to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding; — Proverbs 2:2 (NASB) Proverbs 1:20 says, Wisdom shouts in the street. There are many voices clogging the air waves, but let us incline our ears to listen to Wisdom.   “…he who listens to wisdom shall live securely and will be at ease from the dread of evil.” (Proverbs 1:33) For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 2:6 NASB) He becomes your personal bodyguard as you follow his ways, protecting and guarding you as you choose what is right. (Proverbs 2:8 TPT) …the one who always listens to wisdom will live undisturbed in a heavenly peace. Free from fear, confident and courageous, you will rest unafraid and sheltered from the storms of life. — Proverbs 1:33 (TPT)

Listen for God's Voice

Image
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. — Proverbs 3:6 (MSG) There are many voices clamoring for your attention, but make sure you listen for God’s voice and follow it. Listening to the wrong voices will cause you take detours off of the path of life and you will end up on a dead end road. Paying attention to God's voice will keep you on the right track. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. (Proverbs 3:6  NLT) Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. (Proverbs 3:5 TPT)

Hear Him

Image
While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” — Matthew 17:5 (NKJV) There are many voices that go out into the world today. There is the voice of the medical professional with the bad report, but hear the Word, by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus is the great Physician. There is the voice of Scribes and Pharisees (religious people) who focus on rules and regulations instead of a personal relationship with the lord of Lord and the King of kings. There are the voices of the the news reporters, who speak gloom and doom, but in the Kingdom of God we have the Good News. May we have ears to hear Jesus, the Living Word. Jesus said: “ These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. ” (John 16:33 NKJV) Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and h...

Listen for His Voice

Image
He who has ears to hear, let him hear and heed My words. — Matthew 11:15 (AMP) God has given us ears to hear and eyes to see. (Proverb 20:12) In the course of a day, we are bombarded with so many voices. In order to hear God's voice we need to turn a deaf ear to the voices of the world and tune our ears to His still small voice. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty. (Psalm 29:4) Let the voice of the LORD override all the other voices you allow to fill your head. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. (Proverbs 3:6 MSG) … for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today! (Psalm 95:7 NLT)

Come Close

Image
“Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.” — Isaiah 55:3 (NLT) The Message Bible says, Listen to me, listen well: Eat only the best, fill yourself with only the finest. Pay attention, come close now, listen carefully to my life-giving, life-nourishing words . With all the extraneous noise and voices clamoring for our attention, let us keep an open ear to hear His still small voice. His words give life and nourishment to our souls. Draw near to our heavenly Father, with your ears wide open. The closer you are to Him the more likely you are to hear His voice.

In God We Trust

Image
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. — Proverbs 3:5 (NLT) Do not rely on your own insight or understanding. We have a limited vision, we know in part. And sometimes we get carried away by our emotions or led astray by listening to the wrong voices. Instead, rely on God, who wrote the Book and sees the whole picture. Let us trust in the LORD, He has a lasting legacy of fulfilling all His promises. As you seek His will, He will show you which path to take, where to turn and when to keep straight. He will see you through each and every one of life events and circumstances.

Shout Even More!

Image
When he heard that Jesus from Nazareth was walking by, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many people warned the blind man to be quiet, but he shouted even more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” — Mark 10:47-48 (NCV) The crowd tried to silence Blind Bartimaeus, but he cried out all the more and received his sight. Had he listened to those around him, Bartimaeus, would have remained blind. It's important for us to know which voices to listen to and which ones to ignore. Don’t let the enemy of your soul, silence you from calling out to God and cause you to miss out on your blessing. Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV), tells us to call to the LORD, and He will answer us, and show us great and mighty things, which we do not know.

Hear What God Speaks

Image
I will hear what God the LORD will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to folly. — Psalm 85:8 (NKJV) Listen carefully to what the LORD speaks. Turn a deaf ear to the noise of other voices. The enemy speaks lies, but our God is full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth (Psalm 86:15). He speaks peace and love to His people. He will rejoice over you with singing (Zephaniah 3:14). He will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go (Psalm 32:8). Listen to Him!
