Clear Away the Clutter

Image
Now set your heart and your soul to seek (inquire of, require as your vital necessity) the LORD your God. — 1 Chronicles 22:19a  (AMP) Hallelujah! I give thanks to God with everything I’ve got— Wherever good people gather, and in the congregation. God’s works are so great, worth a lifetime of study—endless enjoyment! Splendor and beauty mark his craft; His generosity never gives out. (Psalm 111:1-3 MSG) The LORD is full of grace and mercy. He is a God of love and compassion. The happiness we seek is found in Him. Psalm 16:11 says: “In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.” We have the peace we long for, when we fix our thoughts upon Him. (Isaiah 26:3 NLT) May we keep our minds and lives clear of clutter, so we can worship the LORD with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. Wholehearted devotion, with no distractions or detours. Amen.

Open Invitation

And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. — Revelation 22:17 (NKJV) Just as Adam and Eve did in the garden of eden, we often try to hide from God. However, we have an open invitation. Jesus always beckons us to come to Him. Let us remove the clutter from our lives and tear down the walls that keep us from drawing closer to our heavenly Father. May we come to Jesus with our hearts open wide and let the continual flow of His love flood our hearts and change our lives. Jesus said, “ All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. ” (John 6:37 NKJV)

He Must Increase!

He must increase, but I must decrease. — John 3:30 (NKJV) This is the first Scripture God put on my heart in the new year and I'm making it my ultimate goal for 2014. It goes along with the series Pastor Matthew Pollock has been preaching about making room for Jesus. In order for Him to increase in our lives, we have to make room for Him. Let us get rid of the clutter in our lives, close our ears to the cries of our flesh and open all the doors and windows of our hearts to Jesus. May we allow Him to increase in our hearts, minds and lives. May we allow His Presence to increase in our homes, on our jobs, in the market place and everywhere we go. Amen!

Run Your Race

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. — Hebrews 12:1 (NLT) Endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:3). Indeed we count them blessed who endure (James 5:11). Someone is always watching, your children, co-workers, etc. We don't know who may be encouraged as they see our faith and perseverance. De-clutter your life and run the race that lies before you. Never give up!

Open the Door!

“Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I’ll come right in and sit down to supper with you.  — Revelation 3:20 (The Message) Jesus wants to occupy your whole heart, but He doesn't force His way. We must open the door and invite Him in. Don’t just open the door, let's roll out the red carpet and invite Him into every room. He will help us remove the clutter and clean out those areas that are not quite right. So answer the call of Jesus and let Him rule and reign in your heart!
