He Calms the Storm

Image
“ LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor! ” — Psalms 107:28-30 (NLT) The LORD has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet. (See Nahum 1:3 NKJV) When you go through stormy times, He is with you and He will guide you through. Yahweh is a place of refuge, and a shelter from the storm. Eventually, the storm will be in your rear view. It will come to pass. Our heavenly Father is faithful to bring you safely into harbor. “Let us praise the LORD for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for us. Let us exalt him publicly before the congregation and before the leaders of the nation.” (See Psalms 107:31-32 NLT)  When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away, but the godly have a lasting foundation. — Proverbs 10:25 (NLT)

Learn to Rely on God

Image
“ We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us. ” — 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 (NLT) As a result of our challenges and troubles, may we learn to trust solely in Yahweh. He will not only rescue us from all of our troubles, He will comfort us and strengthen us in the midst of them as well. “We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NLT) For a righteous man may fall se...

A Very Present Help

Image
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. — Psalms 46:1 (NASB1995) We may have reservations about asking people for help, depending on the nature of the challenge and the type of relationship we have with that person. However, we need never fear going to our Heavenly Father. He is Jehovah Shammah, the God who is always with you. He is with us as an ever-present help. He is El Roi, the God Who Sees you. He knows the anguish of your soul and He has heard your affliction. Trust Yahweh with all your heart. Rely completely on Him, in every situation. In Hebrews 13:5-6 (NASB1995), He said: “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” so that we confidently say, “The LORD is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?” Nothing is too difficult for our great GOD. No fear, no pacing, no biting fingernails. When the earth spins out of control, we are sure and fearless. When mountains crumble and the waters run wild, we are sure and fearless. — P...

A Very Present Help

Image
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. — Psalms 46:1-3 (NASB1995) When we are in the midst of troubles, trials and temptations, Yahweh is with us. He never abandons us. Not only is He our constant Companion, He is always ready to help in times of trouble. He is also our strength, to bring us through. “Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.” (Psalms 34:5 NLT) The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. (Psalms 34:15-17 NKJV) The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, an...

Always Ready

Image
“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! Interlude” — Psalms 46:1-3 (NLT) Not only is Yahweh able, He is also ready and willing to help us. For I know that the LORD is great and that our Lord is above all gods. (Psalms 135:5 NASB1995) I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? My help comes from Yahweh, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to stumble; He who keeps you will not slumber. (Psalms 121:1-3 LSB) “He does what he pleases with unlimited power and authority, extending his greatness throughout the entire universe!” (Psalms 135:6 TPT) “The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. Interlude” (Psalms 46:7 NLT) He is faithful to deliver us from our troubles, each and every one. Praise Yah, for Yahweh is good; S...

He will bring you through the darkness, into the light of day. When you are burdened excessively, don't despair. Cast all your cares on our heavenly Father, Who cares for you. And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called ...

Cry Out

Image
Then they cry out to the LORD in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet; So He guides them to their desired haven. Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! — Psalms 107:28-31 (NKJV) Even though the Israelites rebelled against the words of God, and despised the counsel of the Most High (See Psalms 107:11), His ear was open to hear their cries. When they turned to the Yahweh for help, He always had compassion and came to their rescue. He delivered them from all their troubles. (See Psalms 107:6, 13 & 19) When you are faced with troubles of any kind, cry out to Yahweh. He will hear your voice and He is faithful to deliver His people. Whoever is wise will observe these things, and they will understand the lovingkindness of the LORD. (Psalms 107:43 NASB1995) Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For...

Our Hiding Place

Image
You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah. — Psalms 32:7 (NASB1995) He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust!” (Psalm 91:1-2 NASB1995) Be gracious to me, O God, be gracious and merciful to me, for my soul finds shelter and safety in You, and in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge and be confidently secure until destruction passes by. (Psalms 57:1 AMP) How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the sons of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. (Psalms 36:7 LSB) Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. (Psalms 63:7 NKJV)

Our Refuge & Stronghold

Image
The LORD also will be a refuge and a stronghold for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble; And those who know Your name [who have experienced Your precious mercy] will put their confident trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not abandoned those who seek You. — Psalms 9:9-10 (AMP) Yahweh is our refuge, a shelter Who keeps us safe from danger. He is our stronghold, a place that has been fortified so as to protect those within it against attack. When the enemy attempts to bombard your mind with lies, you can protect your mind by renewing it with the Word of God. When you keep your mind stayed on God, He will keep you in perfect peace, because you trust in Him. (See Isaiah 26:3 NKJV) He who abides in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to Yahweh, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the destructive pestilence. (Psalms 91:1-3 LSB) In peace [and with a tran...

Rely Only On God

Image
We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. — 2 Corinthians 1:8-9 (NLT) We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. (2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NLT) No matter what troubles and trials come our way, may we learn to rely only on Elohim, the all-powerful One, Creator of the universe. He has the power to bring the dead back to life. He rescued us from so great a threat of death, and will continue to rescue us. On Him we have set our hope. And He will again rescue us [from danger and draw us near], (2 Corinthians 1:10 AMP)

One Day at a Time

Image
“Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.” — Matthew 6:34 (TPT) Refuse to fret about tomorrow. Each day has enough trouble of its own. And every minute we spend focused on tomorrow’s issues, we are allowing the enemy to steal precious moments and energy from the present. We are empowered today to deal with the troubles we face today. Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. (Philippians 4:6 AMP) And know that the peace of God (a peace that is beyond any and all of our human understanding) will stand watch over your hearts and minds in Jesus, the Anointed One. (Philippians 4:7 VOICE) “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with what...

Trust God

Image
For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, — 2 Corinthians 1:8-9 (NKJV) In the midst of trouble and any affliction, may we learn to trust in God. He will keep you in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Him, because you trust in Yahweh. (See Isaiah 26:3 NKJV) “Every word of God is tested and refined [like silver]; He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him.” (Proverbs 30:5 AMP) Trust in God. The storms will come and go but our mighty God is forever.

Rely on God

— 2 Corinthians 1:8-9 (NLT) In the midst of whatever challenges and hardships we experience in this life, may we learn to rely only on our mighty God, and trust Him at all times. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” (Romans 10:11 NASB1995) Keep pressing on, knowing that with God all things are possible. Take care, brothers and sisters, that there not be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart [which refuses to trust and rely on the Lord, a heart] that turns away from the living God. (Hebrews 3:12 AMP)

Lean on The Lord

Image
“ I have told you these things so that you will be whole and at peace. In this world, you will be plagued with times of trouble, but you need not fear; I have triumphed over this corrupt world order. ” — John 16:33 (VOICE) Don’t be surprised at the corruption that is rampant in the culture of this world. Know that Jesus has already overcome this world and shared His victory with us. The words Jesus spoke to His disciples is for all believers. They are encouraging words of truth, meant to keep us in peace. When you are plagued by trials, troubles and sorrows, turn to Jesus. Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. (Proverbs 3:5 AMPC) Be confident that He will show you the way through it all, and help you triumph, in the midst of your troubles. He gives you strength to endure the struggles. Amen.

He Restores

Image
You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth. — Psalm 71:20 (NLT) Yahweh is a God of restoration. For our momentary, light affliction, this passing trouble, is producing for us an eternal weight of glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! (See 2 Corinthians 4:17) The Message Bible says: These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. (2 Corinthians 4:17)  Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. (James 1:2-4 MSG) After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, conf...

It's Passing

Image
For our momentary, light distress [this passing trouble] is producing for us an eternal weight of glory [a fullness] beyond all measure [surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent splendor and an endless blessedness]! — 2 Corinthians 4:17 (AMP) The thing to remember about any trouble you may be going through is that it is passing. It is not here to stay. In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened; he saved me from all my troubles. (Psalm 34:6 NLT) Cast all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on the LORD, for He cares about you with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully. (See 1 Peter 5:7 AMP) Our heavenly Father hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. (Psalm 34:17 NLT) Amen.

Pour Out

Image
Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you. — 1 Peter 5:7 (TPT) Pour out all you cares, concerns and anxiety upon the LORD. Empty your mind of any anxiety-producing and stressful thoughts. Let the LORD fill you with His love, joy and peace. Since God cares for you, let Him carry all your burdens and worries. (1 Peter 5:7 VOICE) Jesus said, “And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!” (John 16:33 TPT) His victory is abiding. Amen.

A Safe & Powerful Place

Image
God, you’re such a safe and powerful place to find refuge! You’re a proven help in time of trouble— more than enough and always available whenever I need you. So we will never fear even if every structure of support were to crumble away. We will not fear even when the earth quakes and shakes, moving mountains and casting them into the sea. — Psalm 46:1-2 (TPT) ‘Do not yield to fear, for I am always near. Never turn your gaze from me, for I am your faithful God. I will infuse you with my strength and help you in every situation. I will hold you firmly with my victorious right hand.’ (Isaiah 41:10 TPT) We need God every moment of every day. Look to Him always. God is your helper and the sustainer of your soul. (Psalm 54:4) He will accomplish what concerns you. His lovingkindness is everlasting. (See Psalm 138:8)

EMBRACED!

Image
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. — Romans 8:35-36 (NLT) None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us. (Romans 8:38-39 MSG) …nothing in the universe has the power to diminish his love toward us. Troubles, pressures, and problems are unable to come between us and heaven’s love. (Romans 8:35 TPT)

A Very Present Help

Image
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. — Psalm 46:1 (NASB) The LORD is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him. (Nahum 1:7 NLT) Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Jesus. (John 14:1) He is our Savior, Redeemer and the Solid Rock. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and our Good Shepherd. He is King of kings and Lord of lords, the Alpha and the Omega. And He says: “ I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age. ” (Matthew 28:20 AMP) Amen. I have set the LORD continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. — Psalm 16:8 (NASB)
