Manna for Your Morning

Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”  — John 11:40 (NKJV) When Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was. (John 11:6). Mary and Martha may have thought Jesus forgot about them or that He didn’t care, but it was all for the glory of God. What seems to us like a delay, may be a prelude for the glory of God to be shown. Don’t get down in the dumps during the delays. Instead keep believing and watching with expectation for a mighty move of God! Instead of another healing, John 11:43-44 records Jesus calling a man who had been dead for four days out of the grave. That relationship or situation that appears lifeless in your eyes, can be resurrected and given new life, all for the glory of God. As a result of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead, many of the Jews who saw what Jesus did, believed in Him. (John 11:45) As God’s glory is revealed in your life, many will see and belie...

Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, — Psalm 103:1-3 (NKJV) Whenever we’re sick and in bed, God becomes our nurse, nurses us back to health. (Psalm 41:3 MSG)  Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. (Psalm 34:19) We may have many hardships and afflictions, but praise the LORD, He will deliver us each and every time.

...behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live.” — Matthew 9:18 (NKJV) When Jesus went in and took the ruler’s daughter by the hand, the girl arose. (Matthew 9:25)  When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” And their eyes were opened… (Matthew 9:27, 29-30) In Matthew 8:14-15, Jesus saw Peter’s mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them. A touch from Jesus makes dead things, come alive again. Those with blind eyes are able to see again, after a touch of His hand. His touch brings healing, strength and restoration. What or who in your life needs to be touched by Jesus? He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.” — Luke 9:20 (NKJV) Who do you say Jesus is? If you are lost, He is the good shepherd, who gives His life for the sheep. (John 10:11) He will lead you, guide you and protect you from the enemy. If you are sick, He is the great physician. If you hunger for more, He is the bread of life. (John 6:35) Jesus says: “ Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. ” (John 6:47) Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “ I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. ” (John 8:12) Jesus is everything we need Him to be and He draws all peoples to Himself (John 12:32) No matter who you are or what you have done, Jesus calls us to come. May we know Him as our Lord and Savior.

“And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.”  — Matthew‬ ‭14:14‬ ‭(NKJV‬) “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬). He is still moved with compassion. It is in the heart of Jesus to be compassionate. While the disciples wanted to send the crowd away, Jesus wanted to take care of their needs. He is the great Physician who heals the sick. He feeds the hungry and clothes the naked. He is the good Shepherd who watches over the sheep and guides them along the path of life. He gives light to those who dwell in darkness. To the prisoners of life circumstances, He provides liberty. He lifts up the heads of those bowed down and fills our minds with peace and joy.

Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.” — John 4:42 (NKJV) At first many of the Samaritans believed in Jesus because of the word of the woman who testified about Him. After they came to Him, and heard Him, they got to know Him for themselves. In order to believe in Him and totally trust Him, you have to know Him. You have to know that He is with you, and develop a personal relationship with Him. Know that He is a God who will never fail you. Two co-workers told me about Jesus, then I had my own experience with Him and continue to pursue a deeper more intimate relationship. When I was believing the lies of the enemy, He opened my eyes and showed me truth. When I was down, and turned to the Living Word, He lifted me up out of that pit of depression. When I get overwhelmed, He is my peace. When I was on my sick bed, feeling like I was going to die...

And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick. — Matthew 14:14 (NKJV) The compassion of Jesus moved Him to take action. In compassion, Jesus gave sight to the blind, healed the sick and cleansed the lepers. Jesus made the deaf, able to hear and brought the dead back to life. Our Savior saw humanity dying in sin and moved with compassion, Jesus gave His life on the cross, and reconciled us back into an eternal fellowship with our heavenly Father. His compassions never fail. As children of God, let us be a people who are moved with compassion. May we add the light of life, to the darkness of this world, wherever we go.

Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. — Jeremiah 32:17  (NKJV) In 2 Kings 20:5 (NKJV), King Hezekiah was sick and near death and the prophet Isaiah said to him, “Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: ‘I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you…’ ” God extended his life for fifteen years and defended his city from their enemies. What are you believing God for today? He has heard your prayer and He has seen your tears. Lay your requests before Him and wait expectantly (Psalm 5:3 NIV). Nothing is too difficult for our great God!
