…in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. — Ephesians 6:16 (NASB) In addition to all the other weapons of our warfare, let us hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. No matter what the enemy brings your way, remember that He who resides in you, is greater than the one in the world. For we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]— (2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP) Jesus has already overcome the world. “ If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. ” (Mark 9:23) “ Do not be afraid any longer, only believe. ” (Mark 5:36 NASB)

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. — Ephesians 6:10-11 (NIV) In order to stand up to everything the devil throws our way, we must clothe ourselves in the full armor of God, and use our weapon (the Word). Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. For we live by faith, not by sight. — 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV) Let's live our lives by believing God and His Word. As the Message Bible says, It’s what we trust in but don’t yet see that keeps us going. Do you suppose a few ruts in the road or rocks in the path are going to stop us? (2 Corinthians 5:7). We are to hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. (Ephesians 6:16 NLT). Circumstances may say “not enough,” but the Word of God says He will supply all of our needs (Philippians 4:19). He is the God of “more than enough!” Let us lay aside every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up, and run with endurance the race God has set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12).
