In The Shadow of His Wings

Image
Be gracious to me, O God, be gracious and merciful to me, for my soul finds shelter and safety in You, and in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge and be confidently secure until destruction passes by. — Psalms 57:1 (AMP) “O God, how extravagant is your cherishing love! All mankind can find a hiding place under the shadow of your wings.” (Psalms 36:7 TPT) Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely. (Psalms 63:7-8 NLT) Guard me as you would guard your own eyes. Hide me in the shadow of your wings. (Psalms 17:8 NLT) Let me live forever in your sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of your wings! Interlude (Psalms 61:4 NLT)

He Speaks

Image
Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind and said, — Job 38:1 (LSB) When the storms of life come, continue to trust the God Most High and listen intently for His voice. Your ears will hear sweet words behind you: “Go this way. There is your path; this is how you should go” whenever you must decide whether to turn to the right or the left. (Isaiah 30:21 VOICE) In 1 Kings 19:11-12 (NKJV), the LORD instructed Elijah to, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. In 1 Kings 19:15-16, the LORD gave Elijah directions on where to go and what to do when he arrived. “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the re...

Rejoice

Image
This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. — Psalm 118:24 (NASB1995) Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. (Psalm 100:1-3) Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God and a great King above all gods, (Psalm 95:2-3). Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. (Psalm 95:6)

Choose Life

Image
Before every person lies a road that seems to be right, but the end of that road is death and destruction. — Proverbs 14:12 (VOICE) Set before each person is life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants. (See Deuteronomy 30:19) To choose life is to enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it. (See Matthew 7:13-14 NASB1995) In each and every situation, consistently choose to take the higher road, that leads to a more intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father. Turn away from any idols and false gods, and choose to serve YAHWEH, the Living God in sincerity and truth. You can rationalize it all you want and justify the path of error you have chosen, but you’ll find out in the end that you took the road to destruction. — Proverbs ...

Worship the LORD

Image
Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. — Psalm 29:2 (NKJV) O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker [in reverent praise and prayer]. (Psalm 95:6 AMP) May His praise continually flow from our lips, in any and all circumstances. He is above whatever challenges you face today. Worship the LORD and serve Him with awe-inspired fear and submissive wonder; Rejoice yet do so with trembling. (See Psalm 2:11 AMP) Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, LORD. (Psalm 89:15 NLT)  Let all the earth fear and worship the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. — Psalm 33:8 (AMP)

He’s on Your Side

Image
Out of my distress I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me free. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can [mere] man do to me? — Psalm 118:5-6 (AMP) Far better to take refuge in God than trust in people; Far better to take refuge in God than trust in celebrities. (Psalm 118:8-9 MSG) God’s my strength, he’s also my song, and now he’s my salvation. Hear the shouts, hear the triumph songs in the camp of the saved? “The hand of God has turned the tide! The hand of God is raised in victory! The hand of God has turned the tide!” (Psalm 118:14-16 MSG) With God on your side, who can stand against you?

He Rescues!

Image
The LORD is near to the heartbroken and He saves those who are crushed in spirit (contrite in heart, truly sorry for their sin). Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, but the LORD rescues him from them all. — Psalm 34:18-19 (AMP) When we are brokenhearted, we can be sure the LORD is close and He comforts us. And when we face trouble of any kind, we can be certain that He will deliver us. In the midst of perplexing situations, we can fix our gaze upon our Heavenly Father and experience the pleasure of His Presence, and persevere until He gives us direction. Instead of worry, we can worship our great God. ‘ Do not yield to fear, for I am always near. Never turn your gaze from me, for I am your faithful God. I will infuse you with my strength and help you in every situation. I will hold you firmly with my victorious right hand. ’ — Isaiah 41:10 (TPT)

CHOSEN

Image
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; — 1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV) We are a chosen generation! God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. (Ephesians 1:4) We are chosen to show others the goodness of God, to tell about the wonderful works of our awesome God. We are chosen to be a holy people, God’s very own possession. We are chosen and called children of Almighty God, and co-heirs with Christ. In the past you had never received mercy, but now you have received God’s mercy. (1 Peter 2:10) We are chosen to receive God’s grace and mercy. Chosen to live in His marvelous light, and walk in His love. We are chosen with a purpose to execute His perfect will and plan on the earth. Let us be about our Father's business. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, ...

In the Shadow of His Wings

Image
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light. — Psalm 36:7-9 (NKJV) Be captivated by the unfailing love the LORD has for us. What a privilege and a pleasure to have the precious love of God bestowed upon us! To abide in the shadow of His wings we have to draw close to our heavenly Father. In the shadow of His wings, we have plenty of provision, for there is no lack. We also find perfect peace and protection from the enemy, as we dwell in the shadow of His wings. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by. (Psalm 57:1 NKJV) Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will...

Got Joy?

Image
“ …Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength! ” — Nehemiah 8:10 (NLT) As we fight the good fight of faith, we need strength to overcome the obstacles that come our way. Staying filled with the joy of the LORD is our greatest strength. Don’t let the enemy steal your joy. If you are running low on joy, you can be made exceedingly glad with His presence. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful shout to the LORD. In His Presence our hearts are filled with joy. You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11 NKJV)

Our Living Hope

Image
Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad; for he had desired for a long time to see Him, because he had heard many things about Him, and he hoped to see some miracle done by Him. — Luke 23:8 (NKJV) Don’t seek Jesus for a sign or for what you can get from Him. Seek Him for who He is: the Savior of the world, the Son of God, Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, and Mighty God. Jesus is the good Shepherd, who cares for the sheep. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Don’t settle for what you have heard about Him. Get to know Him for yourself. Delight yourself in His Presence. However, be fully expectant that He will do something spectacular in you, in your life, and in the lives of those around you. Keep your hope in Him alive!

He is with You!

Image
Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me. — Psalm 23:4 (AMP) No matter what dark valley you go through, no one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For He will be with you as He was with Moses. He will not fail you or abandon you (Joshua 1:5 NLT). This is His command—“be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9 NLT). The LORD is our loving shepherd; He is our protection and our guide. And best of all, He is with you!

Purpose in YOUR Heart

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. — Daniel 1:8 (NKJV) Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the king’s delicacies and God’s favor was upon him. In 2 Corinthians 6:17, the Lord calls believers to come out from among the world and be separate. 2 Corinthians 6:14 asks, what communion has light with darkness? May we determine in our minds and hearts to follow the ways our our heavenly Father and draw near to Him. Let us not defile ourselves with the delicacies of this world. If what you have been doing has not brought you closer to God, it's time for a change. Amen.

By the Blood

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. — Ephesians 2:13 (NKJV) At one time, we lived in this world without God and without hope (Ephesians 2:12), but now we have been brought near to the throne of God, by the blood of Christ. We have been redeemed with the precious blood of Christ. Jesus, loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood (Revelation 1:5). Because of the blood of Jesus, God has adopted us into His family. What great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! Now we can boldly enter the Most Holy Place and fellowship with our heavenly Father, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Hallelujah!

Run to the LORD!

Return to the LORD your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. Joel 2:13 (NLT) When you don't know what to do or where to go, run to the LORD our God. He is full of grace and mercy, always ready to forgive. He crowns us with love and compassion (Psalm 103:4) and His compassions never fail. They are brand new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). Our God is extremely patient and extravagant in love. And nothing can separate us from His great love. Amen!

My Helper

The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? The LORD is with me; he is my helper. I will look in triumph on my enemies. Psalm 118:6-7 (NIV) It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man (Psalm 118:8). The LORD is with you to help you. With God on our side we cannot lose. He always leads us in victory because of Christ (2 Corinthians 2:14). Amen!

Find New Strength

He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the weak. Even youths will become exhausted, and young men will give up. But those who wait on the LORD will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:29-31 (NLT) God prepares us to face our challenges and He gives us what we need day by day. The LORD is our source, and when we stay tapped into Him our spirits are revived, our souls are refreshed and our energy is renewed. When you are tired and worn out, find new strength as you trust and wait on the LORD. Love, Jackie

Under His Care

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Psalm 95:6-7 (NIV) We are under the care of Almighty God. We can be in no greater hands. His hand is more mighty than cancer. His hand is more powerful than this world economy. His hand reaches beyond the mountain that stands before you. Nothing is too difficult for Him. The LORD our Maker knit us together in our mother's womb. We are His people and He is interested in whatever concerns us. Let us bow down and worship our great God. Love, Jackie
