Manna for Your Morning

Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime. Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” — John 4:6-7 (NLT) In Jeremiah 2:13, the LORD says: “ For my people have done two evil things: They have abandoned me— the fountain of living water. And they have dug for themselves cracked cisterns that can hold no water at all! ” Which wells do you draw from as your source? The well of your career or business? Do you go to the well of people-pleasing, trying to get your fill on the approval of others? Do you rely on the well of money or the well of sensual pleasures? These wells will never satisfy our thirst. Jesus is the only source that can satisfy. Just like the woman at the well, He knows everything you ever did and He still loves you. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. — Joel 3:14 (NKJV) In spite of how you perceive yourself (your talents, your skills, and your abilities), you are a mighty in God. And no matter what career or profession you occupy, you have a call and purpose to fulfill in God. If we want to see God's wonderful plan manifest in our lives, we have to listen for His voice, and then we must respond with action. Don't waffle too long in the valley of decision. Make a dedicated decision to keep following God, wherever He leads, no matter what adverse conditions arise.
