And King David longed to go to Absalom. For he had been comforted concerning Amnon, because he was dead. — 2 Samuel 13:39 (NKJV) Absalom had his brother Amnon killed for raping his sister Tamar, but King David still longed to go to his son, Absalom. In Acts 13:22, God referred to David as a man after His own heart. Don’t let the enemy condemn you and cause you to run away from God. The mistakes of yesterday, should never keep you from pursuing His Presence today. When we repent and confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive us. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:12) Our heavenly Father loves you and longs to be close to you. Isaiah 40:11 (NIV) says, He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young. It is good for us to draw near to God (Psalm 73:28) and delight ourselves in Him (Psalm 37:4).

He Quiets Us with His Love

Image
The LORD your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”  — Zephaniah 3:17 (NKJV)  When we pause for a moment and really tap into the depth and width of the tremendous love God has for us, all our worries and fears are calmed. His perfect love, casts out fear (1 John 4:18). Awareness of God’s love for us, will silence the voices of doom that lead to doubt and confusion and bring remembrance of God’s faithfulness, that He is with us and causes us to triumph over the troubles of this world. Be comforted with the knowledge that nothing in this world can separate us from the great love our heavenly Father has for us.

Arise & Shine!

See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. — Isaiah 60:2 (NIV) Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you (Isaiah 60:1). May we allow the glorious light of God to shine through us and illuminate the world around us, that others may be touched by His love, comforted with His peace and drawn into His family. Shine ever brighter as a beacon of light in the earth.

In the Day of Trouble

Image
I cried out to God with my voice— to God with my voice; And He gave ear to me. In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; My hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing; My soul refused to be comforted. — Psalm 77:1-2 (NKJV) When troubles come cry out to God. He will hear you. Remember that He is good and He does good (Psalm 119:68). Recall the works of the LORD; Surely remember His wonders of old. Also meditate on all His work, and talk of His deeds (Psalm 77:11-12). When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles (Psalm 34:17, AMP).
