Keep the Faith

Image
And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” — Luke 22:31-32 (NKJV) Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though something strange were happening to you; (1 Peter 4:12 NASB) Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8 NASB) May your faith not fail in times of trials, troubles, and temptations. Continue to fight the good fight, finish the course, and keep the faith. (See 2 Timothy 4:7 NASB)

Learn The Secret

Image
I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need. — Philippians 4:12 (AMP) Like the Apostle Paul, may we learn the secret of not just surviving but thriving in whatever kind of situation or circumstance that comes our way. In Philippians 4:4, he also instructs us to rejoice in the Lord always. So, no matter what set of circumstances you face today, don’t let the enemy steal your joy. Let us put more time and energy into trusting God and drawing near to Him than we do in trying to control our circumstances or manipulate people. The closer we are to Him the more likely we will see the situation from His perspective, a higher viewpoint.  Learn to be content and wait with expectation for God to lead you and guide you in the best course of action. And be confid...

Keep Watch & Pray

Image
“Keep watching and praying that you may not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” — Mark 14:38 (NASB1995) Let us keep watch and pray without ceasing. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12) First Peter 5:8 (NLT) says: Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. (2 Corinthians 10:3-4 NLT) Believers ought to always pray and not lose heart. (See Luke 18:1)

It's Your Choice to Rejoice

Image
This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. — Psalm 118:24 (NLT) Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, though the yield of the olive fails and the fields produce no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the LORD; I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation! (Habakkuk 3:17-18 AMP) Habakkuk is saying that regardless of how dire the external circumstances appear, we can still choose to rejoice in the LORD. Despite the state of affairs, personally, politically, socially, economically, etc. YAHWEH still reigns. Our great God is with us and He is the Source of all we need. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!” (See Nehemiah 8:10 NLT) Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice! — Philippians 4:4 (AMP)

Realize the Brevity of Life

Image
Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty. But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they disappear, and we fly away. Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom. — Psalm 90:10, 12 (NLT) Every day of your life was recorded in His book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. (See Psalm 139:16 NLT)  James 4:14 (NLT) says: Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. Since all of our days on earth are numbered, let us make the most of our time. Be very careful how you live, not being like those with no understanding, but live honorably with true wisdom, for we are living in evil times. Take full advantage of every day as you spend your life for his purposes. (See Ephesians 5:15-16 TPT) When all has been heard, the end of the matter is: fear God [worship Him with awe-filled reverence, knowing that He is almighty God] and keep His commandments, for this applies to every ...
