The God Who Sees Me

Image
Thereafter, Hagar used another name to refer to the LORD, who had spoken to her. She said, “You are the God who sees me.” She also said, “Have I truly seen the One who sees me?” — Genesis 16:13 (NLT) Sarai treated Hagar so harshly that she finally ran away. However, the angel of the LORD found Hagar beside a spring of water in the wilderness... (See Genesis 16:6-7 NLT) Wherever we go, we can never escape from the Spirit of Yahweh. We can never get away from His Presence. (See Psalms 139:7) Psalms 139:9-10 says: “If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.” When it seems as though you are wandering in the wilderness, remember that He is “the God Who Sees me.” (El Roi) He is with you and is aware of your circumstances. Yahweh will instruct you and guide you along the right path. Psalms 16:11 says, He will show you the way of life, granting you the joy of His presence and the pleasures of li...

Our Mediator

Image
If only there were a mediator between us, someone who could bring us together. — Job 9:33 (NLT) …there is [only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and mankind, the Man Christ Jesus, (See 1 Timothy 2:5 AMP). He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. (See Hebrews 8:6 NKJV) We have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. (See 1 John 2:1) The accuser of the brethren, accuses us before our God day and night. (See Revelation 12:10) But we have Yeshua, our Redeemer. He is mighty and He pleads our case. For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth; — Job 19:25 (NKJV)

Hope in His Word

Image
At least I can take comfort in this: Despite the pain, I have not denied the words of the Holy One. — Job 6:10 (NLT) In spite of the sorrows and pain we endure in this life, may we never deny the words of the Holy One. The entirety of His word is truth, and every one of His righteous judgments endures forever. (See Psalm 119:160) He watches over His Word to perform it and His word that goes forth from His mouth does not return to Him void. (See Isaiah 55:11) This is our comfort in our affliction, that His word has revived us. (See Psalm 119:50 NASB1995) H old firmly to the word of life; (Philippians 2:16a NLT) Yahweh is our hiding place and our shield. May we hope in His word. (See Psalm 119:114)  Trouble and anguish have come upon me, yet Your commandments are my delight. — Psalm 119:143 (NASB1995)

Stay Alert!

Image
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. The LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Satan answered the LORD and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” — Job 1:6-7 NASB) Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8 NLT) In Matthew 26:41 (NASB), Yeshua says: “Keep watching and praying, so that you do not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” We need to remain diligent and recognize the sign of the times. Our enemy is always looking to steal and kill and destroy. (See John 10:10a) In order to combat his lies, we need to know the truth and continually renew our minds with the Word of God. …put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. (Ephesians 6:13 NLT)...

He Calms & He Cheers

Image
When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. — Psalm 94:19 (ESV) When your heart is burdened by many cares, cast them upon the Lord because He cares for you. (See 1 Peter 5:7) And let the peace of God rule in your heart and in your mind. He has given us His Holy Spirit as our Helper and Comforter. Trust in the LORD forever, for in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength. (Isaiah 26:4 NKJV) If God hadn’t been there for me, I never would have made it. The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,” your love, God, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up. — Psalm 94:17-19 (MSG)

Follow His Example

Image
L ive a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. — Ephesians 5:2 (NLT) Follow the example of Jesus and live a life of extravagant, sacrificial love. The Amplified Bible says, walk continually in love [that is, value one another—practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others]… (Ephesians 5:2a). For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (Romans 8:29 NLT) “ For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps .” — 1 Peter 2:21 (NLT)

Don’t Hide

Image
They heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. — Genesis 3:8 (NASB) Like Adam and Eve, we have a tendency to try and hide from God when we have sinned, strayed away from His Word, or missed the mark. But it is the work of the enemy to condemn you and separate you from our gracious God. However, when we come into the Light of His Presence, we can receive forgiveness, cleansing and healing. Nothing can separate us from His love. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) ...if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7 NASB) I will sing and greatly rejoice in Yahweh! My whole being vibrates with shouts of joy in my God! For he has dressed me ...

Live in the Light

Image
In the past you were full of darkness, but now you are full of light in the Lord. So live like children who belong to the light. Light brings every kind of goodness, right living, and truth. — Ephesians 5:8-9 (NCV) With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. (Ephesians 4:17 NLT) Let us live as children of light. Do not be bitter or angry or mad. Never shout angrily or say things to hurt others. Never do anything evil. Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ. (Ephesians 4:31-32 NCV) In Luke 6:35-36 (NCV), Jesus said: “ But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without hoping to get anything back. Then you will have a great reward, and you will be children of the Most High God, because he is kind even to people who are ungrateful and full of sin. Show mercy, just as your Father shows mercy. ” As we live our lives in the light and love of Jesus, we will dr...

Boast in His Name

Image
Some boast in chariots and some in horses, but we will boast in the name of the LORD, our God. — Psalm 20:7 (NASB) If you are going to boast about anything, boast in the name of the LORD. Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. (Psalm 124:8) His name is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. (Proverbs 18:10) Trust in the mighty name of the LORD, our God. Whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. (Romans 10:13) O God, we give glory to you all day long and constantly praise your name. Interlude (Psalm 44:8 NLT) I don’t want to hear any of you bragging about yourself or anyone else. Everything is already yours as a gift—Paul, Apollos, Peter, the world, life, death, the present, the future—all of it is yours, and you are privileged to be in union with Christ, who is in union with God. (1 Corinthians 3:21-23 MSG)

Worship God

Image
“ But the time is coming—it has, in fact, come—when what you’re called will not matter and where you go to worship will not matter. It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration. ” — John 4:23-24 (MSG We don’t need to pretend before our heavenly Father. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace and present ourselves as living sacrifices, being real, open and honest, and available for Him to use. We worship God as we become the person He created us to be and live in the light of His grace, truth and love.

What Keeps Us Going

Image
That’s why we live with such good cheer. You won’t see us drooping our heads or dragging our feet! Cramped conditions here don’t get us down. They only remind us of the spacious living conditions ahead. It’s what we trust in but don’t yet see that keeps us going. Do you suppose a few ruts in the road or rocks in the path are going to stop us? — 2 Corinthians 5:6-7 (MSG) Our complete trust in the goodness of God will keep our heads lifted high, as we look to Him. Remembering that the LORD hears his people when they call to him for help and rescues them from all their troubles. (Psalm 34:17-18 NLT), is what will keep us going. Being confident that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13), will keep us from dragging our feet.

He is In Our Midst!

The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior [Who saves]! He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His love He will be silent and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them]; He will exult over you with singing. — Zephaniah 3:17 (AMP) The LORD our God is in our midst. He is mighty to save. He takes great delight in His people. Once we confess our sins, He removes our transgressions from us, as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). His perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). He rejoices over us with joyful songs. Let us draw near to Him and delight in His Presence!

Redeemed from the Battle!

He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me, for there were many against me.  — Psalm 55:18 (NKJV) God will redeem you from whatever battles rage in your soul. Whether it is an addiction, or a battle against discouragement and depression, the battle is the LORD’s! Call upon God, morning, noon and night, and the LORD shall save you. Pray and cry aloud and He will hear your voice (Psalm 55:16-17). Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all (Psalm 34:19). Through our God we gain the victory because He tramples down our adversaries (Psalm 60:12)!

Fulfill Your Promise!

Turn my eyes away from worthless things;  preserve my life according to your word.  Fulfill your promise to your servant,  so that you may be feared. Psalm 119:37-38 (NIV) May all of God's wonderful promises be fulfilled in you. May He give you new life, an abundant and fruitful life, according to His Word. Cast not your eyes on worthless things, but fix them on the Lord JESUS, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Amen!

Daily Renewal

That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 2 Corinthians 4:16-17 (NLT) Our inner beings are renewed every day. So don't give up. Take each day as it comes. The Word says our troubles are light and momentary, and they produce for us an eternal glory that excessively outweighs our afflictions. The things we see now will soon be gone, but our glorious future will last forever. Praise the Lord!

Too Hard?

Then the Lord said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, 'I am too old to have a baby'? Is anything too hard for the Lord? No! I will return to you at the right time a year from now, and Sarah will have a son." Genesis 18:13-14 (NCV) Is anything too hard for the Lord? The answer is a resounding, "NO!" He created the earth and put the sun, moon and stars in place. He split the sea and held it open for His people to walk through on dry land. The Lord takes what is barren and makes it fertile. Sarah gave birth to a son in her nineties, just as the Lord said. At the right time what the Lord has promised you, will also come to pass. Nothing is too difficult for our great God. Enjoy the Journey, Love, Jackie

"I will be with him"

"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him" Psalm 91:14-15 (NIV) God doesn't tell us we won't go through any trouble but that He will be with us in it and He will deliver us out of it. In 1 Peter 4:12, the Apostle Peter tells us not to be surprised at the painful trials we suffer. Psalm 34:19 says, a righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all. When you are in the midst of a fiery trial remember, the LORD is faithful and He will get you through it. Love, Jackie
