Walk in the Light

Image
but if we [really] walk in the Light [that is, live each and every day in conformity with the precepts of God], as He Himself is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another [He with us, and we with Him], and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin [by erasing the stain of sin, keeping us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations]. — 1 John 1:7 (AMP) Turn away from the deeds of darkness, and enjoy true unbroken fellowship with Yahweh, by following the Light of life we have within us. In John 8:12 (NASB1995) Jesus said: “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” He gives light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (See Luke 1:79 NKJV) The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. ( Romans 13:12 NKJV) For you were once darkness, but ...

Seek & Rely on Yahweh

Image
Thus the children of Israel were subdued at that time; and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied on the LORD God of their fathers.  — 2 Chronicles 13:18 (NKJV) King Abijah and the children of Judah conquered Israel because they relied on the LORD, the God of their fathers. In 2 Chronicles 13:10, Abijah said: “But as for us, Yahweh is our God, and we have not forsaken Him…” After Abijah, Asa his son reigned in his place and he did what was good and right in the sight of Yahweh his God… (See 2 Chronicles 14:1-2) In 2 Chronicles 14:7, King Asa said to Judah, “Let us build these cities and make walls around them, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us, because we have sought the LORD our God; we have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered. May we always seek the LORD and rely on Him. “For the eyes of Yahweh move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is wholly devoted ...

The God Who Sees

Image
Thereafter, Hagar used another name to refer to the LORD, who had spoken to her. She said, “You are the God who sees me.” She also said, “Have I truly seen the One who sees me?” — Genesis 16:13 (NLT) Never think that God has forgotten about you. When Sarai treated Hagar harshly, she fled from her presence into the wilderness and God met her there. (See Genesis 16:6) Whatever you’re going through today, He sees you. He knows your struggle and your pain. And He is your help, your comfort and your strength. Look to Him and He will show you the way. Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, on those who hope for His lovingkindness, to deliver their soul from death and to keep them alive in famine. — Psalm 33:18-19 (NASB1995)

Half Dead?

Image
Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. — Luke 10: 30 (NKJV) Have you ever felt deserted on the roadside of life, half dead? A certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where this man was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. Today, we have Jesus. He meets us wherever we are, and has compassion on us. Hallelujah!  The Samaritan went to the man, soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged him up. Then he set him on his own donkey, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. (See Luke 10:33-34) Our awesome God heals our wounds, brings us into His house and takes care of us. Praise the Lord for His great grace, lovingkindness and mercy! May we too, have compassion for our neighbors. Let us share the light and love of God with everyone He puts on our path. Amen.

Proclaim His Greatness

Image
Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness. Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles. Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; I will proclaim your greatness. — Psalm 145:3-6 (NLT) Yahweh, our Sovereign God, your glory streams from the heavens above, filling the earth with the majesty of your name! People everywhere see your splendor! (Psalm 8:9 TPT) Keep me in this glory. Let me live continually under your splendor-shadow, hiding my life in you forever. Pause in his presence (Psalm 61:4 TPT)

Blessed be the Lord

Image
Blessed be the Lord— day after day he carries us along. He’s our Savior, our God, oh yes! He’s God-for-us, he’s God-who-saves-us. Lord God knows all death’s ins and outs. — Psalm 68:19-20 (MSG) Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden. He is God-for-us. Our God is a mighty God who saves us over and over! For the Lord, Yahweh, rescues us from the ways of death many times. (Psalm 68:20 TPT) …praise the name of God with song and magnify Him with thanksgiving. (Psalm 69:30 NASB) “ All the earth will worship You, and will sing praises to You; They will sing praises to Your name. ” Selah. — Psalm 66:4 (NASB)

Never Quit!

Image
Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. — Hebrews 12:1-2 (MSG) Even though it’s a long distance race, may we continually run with passion and determination. Let us stay focused on Jesus, who designed and perfected our faith. And never lose sight of where you’re headed. Amen.

Run Your Race

Image
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. — Hebrews 12:1-2a (NLT) Let us lay aside every weight, anything that slows us down, and run our race with endurance. Instead of telling your neighbor how to run their race, keep your eyes on Jesus and press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. (Philippians 3:14 NLT) ...he who endures to the end shall be saved. (Matthew 24:13 NKJV)

Guard Your Heart

Image
My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer. — Psalm 45:1 (NKJV) What is your heart overflowing with today? Is your heart troubled, full of fear and anxiety? Or does it overflow with a good theme? May our hearts be full of God’s unconditional love, His mercy and grace, His kindness and compassion.  Let us guard our hearts and only let in what is good. Jesus says, in John 14:1 (NLT), “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.” When we trust in the Lord, our hearts are strengthened and we can have peace. When our hearts overflow with the truth, God’s Word, our hope is alive and we thrive. Let your heart overflow with a good theme. Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life. (Proverbs 4:23 NASB)

Blessed to Be a Blessing

Image
Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.” — Genesis 12:1-2 (NKJV) Abram was 75 years old when God told him to go. No matter what your age, if you have the breath of life in your lungs, then God still has a plan for you. Like Abram, we have to be willing to leave what is familiar and comfortable to go to the new place God is calling us to. That will involve giving up those things He is telling us to let go of, whether its fear or some unhealthy relationship, etc. We can be confident that as we faithfully walk with Him and fulfill His call and purpose, the blessings will come. Instead of hoarding them for ourselves, may we let the blessings flow through our hands and touch the lives of others. He overflows our cup (Psalm 23:5) so we have more than enough to share with others. The ble...

Every Step You Take

Image
“And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed. Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.” —Joshua 1:8-9 MSG As we meditate on the Word of God, we gain strength and wisdom to do what He has called us to do. And we will have good success. “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT). Let every step you take toward your goals and dreams, be a step of faith knowing that He is with you!

Faithfully Serve God!

Image
Only fear the LORD, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you. — 1 Samuel 12:24 (NKJV) Fear the LORD only. With the LORD on your side, what can man do to you? Let us faithfully serve God with all our hearts. May we be like Jesus, focused on the Father’s business, not giving attention to what others think of us, but fulfilling the mission He has given to us. And always remember what great things the LORD has done for you!

Give God the Praise!

I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving. This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bull, which has horns and hooves. The humble shall see this and be glad; and you who seek God, your hearts shall live.  — Psalm 69:30-32 (NKJV) The very essence of our lives is to sing the praises of our God and honor Him with thanksgiving. A humble heart giving glory to God, pleases Him more than anything we could give as a sacrifice. May your heart be encouraged and strengthened as you trust in and rely on God.

My Strength & My Song!

The LORD is my strength and my song. He is my Savior. This is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will honor him. The LORD is a warrior! The LORD is his name.  — Exodus 15:2-3 (GW) The sovereign LORD is the endless source of our strength. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). Draw all that you need from Him. Let the LORD be the song that you sing, His love the melody of your heart. Honor God as your Lord and Savior, in all that you do. Sing His praises every day He gives you breath!

Free as a Bird!

Oh, blessed be God! He didn't go off and leave us. He didn't abandon us defenseless, helpless as a rabbit in a pack of snarling dogs. We've flown free from their fangs, free of their traps, free as a bird. Their grip is broken; we're free as a bird in flight. God's strong name is our help, the same God who made heaven and earth. Psalm 124:6-8 (The Message) The enemy has no power over us. Everyone born of God overcomes the world because the One who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world. No weapon formed against us will succeed (Isaiah 54:17). Jesus set the captives free and if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed (John 8:36). Every yoke is broken. Live as free people and don't fall for the snares of the enemy. You, my brothers and sisters, are called to be free (Galatians 5:13)! Spread your wings and soar like an eagle toward your God-given destiny.

RELIEF

He told them to celebrate these days with feasting and gladness and by giving gifts of food to each other and presents to the poor. This would commemorate a time when the Jews gained relief from their enemies, when their sorrow was turned into gladness and their mourning into joy. Esther 9:22 (NLT) Haman, an enemy of the Jewish people, issued letters with orders to destroy, kill and completely wipe out all the Jewish people. However, with God's favor on His people, the King gave the Jewish people the right to protect themselves, to destroy, kill and completely wipe out those who attacked them. On the day that was set for their destruction, the Jewish people defeated all their enemies, killing and destroying them. God gave them relief from their enemies and turned their sorrow into gladness, their mourning into joy. This is how God works on behalf of His people. All things are possible when you are on God's side. Things are never as bad as your enemy would have you believe. God ...

A Strong Tower

The name of the LORD is a strong tower;  the righteous run to it and are safe.  Proverbs 18:10 (NIV)    Whatever obstacles stand before you, call on the mighty name of the LORD. There is wonder-working power in His name to withstand every challenge you face. He is a strong tower and a safe refuge. When we run to Him we are safe. He draws us to His side and protects us from the enemy forces. Run into the strong tower of the LORD. Love, Jackie
