He Will Answer

Image
“ I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray. Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways. By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies. ” — Psalms 17:6-7 (NLT) Give ear, O Yahweh, to my prayer; And give heed to the voice of my supplications! In the day of my distress I shall call upon You, for You will answer me. (Psalms 86:6-7 LSB) For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth. (Psalms 108:4-5 NLT) “Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy.” (Psalms 63:3-5 NLT)

Be An Active Doer

Image
“But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.” — James 1:22-24 (NLT) In Luke 11:28 (AMP), Yeshua said, “…blessed (happy, favored by God) are those who hear the word of God and continually observe it.” …he who looks carefully into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and faithfully abides by it, not having become a [careless] listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he will be blessed and favored by God in what he does [in his life of obedience]. (James 1:25 AMP)

Passing Through

Image
Hear my prayer, O LORD! Listen to my cries for help! Don’t ignore my tears. For I am your guest— a traveler passing through, as my ancestors were before me. — Psalms 39:12 (NLT) “LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered— how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.” Interlude (Psalms 39:4-5 NLT) So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. (2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT) Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the ear...

Don't Drift

Image
“So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it.” — Hebrews 2:1 (NLT) Don’t drift away from the truth, God’s Word. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 NKJV) And never doubt, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. (See James 1:6) Be faithful to our heavenly Father, and His Son, Yeshua the Christ to the end. For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. (Hebrews 3:14 NLT) “ Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceit...

Be Willing to Listen

Image
“But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.” — Luke 6:27-28 (NLT) Yeshua repeats this command. It is no mistake. “Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.” (Luke 6:35-36 NLT) May we be willing to listen and eager to obey the teaching of Yeshua, our Savior and Lord. In Luke 6:46 (NASB1995), Yeshua asks: “ Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? ”

The Benefits of Wisdom

Image
“I call to you, to all of you! I raise my voice to all people. Listen to me! For I have important things to tell you. Everything I say is right, for I speak the truth and detest every kind of deception.” — Proverbs 8:1, 6-7 (NLT) Wisdom says to all people: “Choose my instruction rather than silver, and knowledge rather than pure gold. For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies. Nothing you desire can compare with it. (Proverbs 8:10-11 NLT) I love those who love me; And those who seek me early and diligently will find me. Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness (right standing with God). (Proverbs 8:17-18 AMP) Listen to my instruction and be wise. Don’t ignore it. Joyful are those who listen to me, watching for me daily at my gates, waiting for me outside my home! For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the LORD. (Proverbs 8:33-35 NLT) Leave your simple ways behind, and begin to live; learn to use good judgment.” (Proverbs 9:6 NLT)  Wisdom w...

He Hears AND He Cares

Image
“But it is wrong to say God doesn’t listen, to say the Almighty isn’t concerned.” — Job 35:13 (NLT) In the midst of affliction and adversity, it may seem like God has abandoned you, or that your cries for help are falling on deaf ears. However, Psalms 34:15 (LSB) says: The eyes of Yahweh are toward the righteous and His ears are open to their cry for help. You can be assured that our Heavenly Father is always listening to the pleas of His children, and He will answer. In addition, 1 Peter 5:7 (AMP) says to cast all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].  From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. — Psalms 61:2 (NKJV)

Listen & Obey

Image
But this thing I did command them: ‘Listen to and obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people; and you will walk in all the way which I command you, so that it may be well with you.’ — Jeremiah 7:23 (AMP) The plans and thoughts God has toward us are good. He wants us to prosper in every area of our lives, to be healed, whole, growing and fruitful. First Timothy 6:17 (NKJV) tells us not to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. For Yahweh God is a sun and shield; Yahweh gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk blamelessly. (Psalms 84:11 LSB) However, Jeremiah 5:28 says, our sins have withheld good from us. “Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.” (...

Come

Image
“Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and delight yourself in abundance. Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, according to the faithful mercies shown to David.” — Isaiah 55:2-3 (NASB1995) Yahweh is continually calling us to come to Him. How are we to come? Humbly, with an open heart, ready to let His unfailing love wash away anything that is not of Him - bitterness, unforgiveness, pride, selfishness, etc. Come with open hands, ready to receive all that He so generously gives. Come with an open, teachable mind so it can be renewed with the Word of God. Come with ears that are open to hear His still small voice. We may come wounded and broken but He heals and restores and makes us whole. “Seek Yahweh while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thought...

Listen to His Voice

Image
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. — John 10:27 (NLT) In Jeremiah 44:3-4, the people provoked the anger of the LORD with all their wickedness. Again and again He sent His servants, the prophets, to plead with them ‘Don’t do these horrible things that I hate so much.’ In Jeremiah 44:16, the people responded: “We will not listen to your messages from the LORD! We will do whatever we want…” Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart, as they did.   With the plethora of news channels and social media outlets, there are so many voices, a continual stream of counselors, coaches, experts, etc. giving their opinions, facts and findings. Let us not be too concerned with what people think. The Word of God is tried and true and it stands forever. It is the truth that will set you free. (See John 8:32) If the voice doesn’t line up with the Word of God, we must reject it. May we keep our ears tuned in to listen to the voice of the LORD our God, that we may...

He Cares For You

Image
For we are those he cares for, and he is the God we worship. So drop everything else and listen to his voice! For this is what he’s saying: “Today, when I speak, don’t even think about turning a deaf ear to me like they did when they tested me at Meribah and Massah, the place where they argued with me, their Creator. Your ancestors challenged me over and over with their complaining, even though I had convinced them of my power and love. They still doubted my care for them. — Psalms 95:7-9 (TPT) Never doubt Yahweh’s care for you. He is a faithful Father who always takes care of His children. His thoughts about you outnumber the grains of sand. (See Psalm 139:17-18) Turn a deaf ear to the voices of this world and tune into His still small voice as He leads you and guides you through this day. Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as...

Listen & Follow

Image
Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today! — Psalm 95:6-7 (NLT) The God Most High, is a good, good Father Who continually watches over His people. He cares for us and provides all of our needs. May we worship Him and Him alone. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear and will trust in the LORD. (Psalm 40:2-3 NASB1995) Yeshua is our good Shepherd, Who gave His life for us. (See John 10:11) In John 10:14 (NASB1995), Jesus said: “… I know My own and My own know Me, ” Yeshua calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. The sheep follow Him because they know His voice. (See John 10:3-4) A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do ...

But the Lord replied to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered and anxious about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part [that which is to her advantage], which will not be taken away from her.” — Luke 10:41-42 (AMP) There are many voices in the world today. Listening to the wrong voices can have us running around doing many things, even some good things, but they may not be the right things at the right time. Paying attention to the wrong voices can detour us away from God's will and cause us to fall in a ditch. It is to our advantage and well-being to always listen to the voice of the Lord. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. (See John 14:6) Luke 10:39 (AMP) says: Mary seated herself at the Lord’s feet and was continually listening to His teaching. May we be like Mary and take time to sit at the feet of Jesus and listen to His voice. May we have ears to hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit within us leading,...

Be Engaged

Image
This is why it is so crucial that we be all the more engaged and attentive to the truths that we have heard so that we do not drift off course. — Hebrews 2:1 (TPT) Let us listen very carefully and pay much closer attention to the truth we have heard so that we do not, in any way, drift away from the truth and suffer shipwreck in regard to our faith. Now in these final days, God has spoken to us through his Son, Jesus, the Living Word. (See Hebrews 1:1, John 1:1,14 NLT) Be actively engaged in listening to the Word of God and actually doing what He says. Listen, my son, and be wise, and direct your heart in the way [of the LORD]. (Proverbs 23:19 AMP) When we direct our heart toward the LORD, He will guide us along on the correct course, and bring us safely to our glorious destination.

But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” — Luke 10:41-42 (ESV) Are you anxious and troubled about many things? Instead of worrying about the ever changing events of this world, be like Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to His teaching. (See Luke 10:39) Listen for the still small voice of your Shepherd. Seek Him and His will first and foremost. Let His voice be the first voice you listen to in the morning. He will lead you forth in peace. The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” (Psalm 32:8 NLT)

Listen to Wisdom

Image
Make your ear attentive to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding; — Proverbs 2:2 (NASB) Proverbs 1:20 says, Wisdom shouts in the street. There are many voices clogging the air waves, but let us incline our ears to listen to Wisdom.   “…he who listens to wisdom shall live securely and will be at ease from the dread of evil.” (Proverbs 1:33) For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 2:6 NASB) He becomes your personal bodyguard as you follow his ways, protecting and guarding you as you choose what is right. (Proverbs 2:8 TPT) …the one who always listens to wisdom will live undisturbed in a heavenly peace. Free from fear, confident and courageous, you will rest unafraid and sheltered from the storms of life. — Proverbs 1:33 (TPT)

Come Back

Image
But even there, if you seek God, your God, you’ll be able to find him if you’re serious, looking for him with your whole heart and soul. When troubles come and all these awful things happen to you, in future days you will come back to God, your God, and listen obediently to what he says. God, your God, is above all a compassionate God. In the end he will not abandon you, he won’t bring you to ruin, he won’t forget the covenant with your ancestors which he swore to them. — Deuteronomy 4:29-31 (MSG) Come back to God and listen to what He says. Wholeheartedly seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness. Strive after His heart and character, more than His hand and He will give you everything you need.

Be Spirit-Led

Image
So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.  — Galatians 5:16 (NLT) For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, (Romans 8:5-6 NASB) When we are habitually led by the Holy Spirit, we live a more abundant life and we have peace that surpasses understanding. Listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit. He is our Helper and our Guide. Always be responsive to His guidance. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. (Romans 8:14 NLT)

Trust God

Image
The LORD is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him. — Nahum 1:7 (NLT) Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life! (Proverbs 3:5-8 MSG) Do not rely on your own understanding, nor the opinions of our current culture. Totally Trust in the Lord. He is our Helper, our Healer, our Provider our Protector, etc.

Listen for God's Voice

Image
Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. — Proverbs 3:5-6 (MSG) Ecclesiastes 3:1 (MSG) says, “There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth…” Instead of cluttering up today with worry about tomorrow or regrets of the past, listen for God’s voice and follow His guidance for today. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:34b) “ I have told you these things so that you will be whole and at peace. In this world, you will be plagued with times of trouble, but you need not fear; I have triumphed over this corrupt world order. ” — John 16:33 (VOICE)
