Faithful to Forgive

Image
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.  — 1 John 1:9-10 (NKJV) Yahweh is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, and He has not rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Psalms 103:8, 10-12 LSB) Therefore repent and return to Yahweh, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; (See Acts 3:19)

“Father, Forgive Them”

Image
When they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left. But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves. — Luke 23:33-34 (NASB1995) Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions. (Mark 11:25 NASB1995) In Exodus 34:7, the LORD proclaims that He keeps lovingkindness for thousands, and forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished...  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 NASB1995)  Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32) In Matthew 6:14-15, Jesus said: “For if you forgive oth...

“How Often Should I Forgive?”

Image
Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!” — Matthew 18:21-22 (NLT) Yeshua says, the second greatest commandment is equally important as the first: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].” (See Matthew 22:39 NLT & AMP) Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. (1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NLT) May you forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart, and keep no account of a wrong suffered. First Corinthians 13:5 (VOICE) simply says: Love doesn’t tally wrongs. “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. — Matthew 6:14-15 (NLT)

“if My people...”

Image
“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) If children of God (those who are called by His name), want Yahweh to heal and restore our land, we need to do our part. First, we are to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God (See 1 Peter 5:6). Second, we are to persistently pray to our Heavenly Father, instead of complaining, criticizing, or worrying. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. (See James 5:16 NLT)  Third, the Word says to seek His face. This is a posture of the heart.  Psalms 27:8 (NASB1995) says: When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O LORD, I shall seek.” The affections of our hearts are to be set on Yahweh, more than anything else this world has to offer. And the fourth thing we are instructed to do...

Rich in Mercy

Image
Now the LORD had told Samuel the previous day, “About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him to be the leader of my people, Israel. He will rescue them from the Philistines, for I have looked down on my people in mercy and have heard their cry.” — 1 Samuel 9:15-16 (NLT) Our heavenly Father looks upon His people in mercy, and He hears our cries. Mercy is when we don’t get what we deserve. When we repent and confess our sins He is faithful to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (See 1 John 1:9) For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Psalms 103:11-12 NKJV) I reiterate the words of Samuel as he reassured the people: “Don’t be afraid. You have certainly done wrong, but make sure now that you worship the LORD with all your heart, and don’t turn your back on him. Don’t go back to wors...

Release Forgiveness

Image
“Forgive us the wrongs we have done as we ourselves release forgiveness to those who have wronged us.” — Matthew 6:12 (TPT) May we not harbor any unforgiveness or bitterness in our hearts toward those who have hurt us. Psalms 86:5 (NKJV) says the Lord is good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon Him. However, Matthew 6:15 (NASB1995) says, if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. So let us continually release forgiveness and the sweet fragrance of love. First Corinthians 13:5 says, love keeps no record of being wronged, and the second greatest commandment in Mark 12:31 says: ’You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ We may not be able to forget the wrongs we have suffered, but we can stop intentionally recalling them and rehearsing them over and over again in our minds, or repeatedly reminding the person who did the wrong. And forgiving someone does not mean we are to remain in abusive and unhealthy relatio...

Always Good

Image
For YAHWEH is always good and ready to receive you. He’s so loving that it will amaze you— so kind that it will astound you! And he is famous for his faithfulness toward all. Everyone knows our God can be trusted, for he keeps his promises to every generation! — Psalms 100:5 (TPT) The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works. (Psalms 145:9)  God is good and He does not change. (See Malachi 3:6) Like the father of the prodigal son, His arms are always open to receive you and draw you closer to Him. Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations. (See Psalms 100:5 & 118:1 NKJV) He is good and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon Him. (See Psalms 86:5) Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalms 34:8) Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! (Psalm...

Repent & Return

Image
So repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins] and return [to God—seek His purpose for your life], so that your sins may be wiped away [blotted out, completely erased], so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord [restoring you like a cool wind on a hot day]; and that He may send [to you] Jesus, the Christ, who has been appointed for you, — Acts 3:19-20 (AMP) Jesus bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. (See 1 Peter 2:24) Repent and return to God. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 NASB1995) Amen.

God is Good

Image
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You. — Psalm 86:5 (NASB) For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. (Psalm 84:11 NASB) O LORD of hosts, How blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You [believing in You, relying on You, and committing himself to You with confident hope and expectation]. (Psalm 84:12 AMP) Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God. — 3 John 1:11 (NASB)

Seek the LORD

Image
You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.  — Jeremiah 29:13 (NASB) The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. (Psalm 145:18 NASB) Seek the LORD while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the LORD that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously. (Isaiah 55:6-7 NLT)  ...they who seek the LORD will not lack any good thing. — Psalm 34:10b (AMP)

Keep Watching

Image
Nevertheless, keep watching! I will restore this city and heal the wounds of My people. I will lavish them with peace and stability. — Jeremiah 33:6 (VOICE) “But now take another look. I’m going to give this city a thorough renovation, working a true healing inside and out. I’m going to show them life whole, life brimming with blessings. I’ll restore everything that was lost to Judah and Jerusalem. I’ll build everything back as good as new. I’ll scrub them clean from the dirt they’ve done against me. I’ll forgive everything they’ve done wrong, forgive all their rebellions. (Jeremiah 33:6-8 MSG) Our heavenly Father is a God of restoration and renewal. He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Love Covers

Image
Hatred keeps old quarrels alive, but love draws a veil over every insult and finds a way to make sin disappear. — Proverbs 10:12  (TPT) In God’s great love for us, He removes our transgressions from us, as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). May we love love others, the way our heavenly Father loves us. Those who forgive faults foster love, but those who repeatedly recall them ruin relationships. (Proverbs 17:9 VOICE) Above all, have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins [it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others]. (1 Peter 4:8 AMP) Hold on to loyal love and don’t let go, and be faithful to all that you’ve been taught… — Proverbs 3:3a (TPT)

Follow His Example

Image
Therefore become imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]; — Ephesians 5:1 (AMP) As well-beloved children of God, may we follow His example. Abba Father loves us and gives us new mercies every morning, let us walk in unconditional love and show grace and mercy to others. Just as our heavenly Father has forgiven us of our transgressions, and set them as far as the east is from the west, may we forgive those who offend us and not hold grudges. Just as the LORD is long-suffering with us, let us be patient and compassionate with others. As we follow the example of our heavenly Father, we invade the darkness of this world with His glorious light and advance His Kingdom here on earth. Amen.

Help Love Prosper

Image
Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends. — Proverbs 17:9 (NLT) Help love to flourish in your heart and in the lives of those around you. Love prospers when we forgive the failures of others, and don't highlight their faults. The Message Bible says, love doesn’t keep score of the sins of others. (2 Corinthians 13:5) “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history.” (Isaiah 43:18 MSG) Philippians 3:13, says to forget those things which are behind and look forward to what lies ahead. Let us imitate our Heavenly Father. He forgives all our sins.. (Psalm 103:3) As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. — Psalm 103:12 (NKJV)

Live in the Light

Image
In the past you were full of darkness, but now you are full of light in the Lord. So live like children who belong to the light. Light brings every kind of goodness, right living, and truth. — Ephesians 5:8-9 (NCV) With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. (Ephesians 4:17 NLT) Let us live as children of light. Do not be bitter or angry or mad. Never shout angrily or say things to hurt others. Never do anything evil. Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ. (Ephesians 4:31-32 NCV) In Luke 6:35-36 (NCV), Jesus said: “ But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without hoping to get anything back. Then you will have a great reward, and you will be children of the Most High God, because he is kind even to people who are ungrateful and full of sin. Show mercy, just as your Father shows mercy. ” As we live our lives in the light and love of Jesus, we will dr...

Have Bold Belief!

Image
Some men arrived carrying a paraplegic on a stretcher. They were looking for a way to get into the house and set him before Jesus. When they couldn’t find a way in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof, removed some tiles, and let him down in the middle of everyone, right in front of Jesus. Impressed by their bold belief, he said, “Friend, I forgive your sins.”  — Luke 5:18-20 (MSG) Bold belief is compassionate enough to carry those who cannot walk on their own. Bold belief makes a way to set others in front of Jesus. Bold belief doesn't turn back when met with difficulties, but presses in, and overcomes obstacles. As a result, lives are changed for all of eternity. Bold belief is love in action. May we exercise bold belief in our daily affairs. …the righteous are bold as a lion. (Proverbs 28:1 NKJV)

Lavish Forgiveness

Image
“Seek GOD while he’s here to be found, pray to him while he’s close at hand. Let the wicked abandon their way of life and the evil their way of thinking. Let them come back to GOD, who is merciful, come back to our God, who is lavish with forgiveness.” — Isaiah 55:6-7 (MSG) If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) He removes our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. (Psalms 103:12) Instead beating yourself up over past mistakes, decide to seek the wisdom of God at this present moment. Seek our merciful God while He may be found. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16 NASB)

Seek & Sow

Image
The wicked man earns deceptive wages, but he who sows righteousness and lives his life with integrity will have a true reward [that is both permanent and satisfying]. — Proverbs 11:18 (AMP) Seek what is good (God is good) and sow righteousness. The LORD upholds and sustains the righteous [who seek Him]. (Psalm 37:23 AMP) He who earnestly seeks good finds favor, (Proverbs 11:27a).  Just as God has freely given to us, let us freely give. Sow love, joy, peace, patience, and kindness. Forgive those who hurt you. Comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Corinthians 1:4) We will truly be satisfied, as we allow ourselves to be channels for God's goodness to flow through us and into the lives of others. Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires. (Psalm 37:3-4 NLT)

Stone or Flesh?

Image
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. — Ezekiel 36:26 (NKJV) The New Living Translation says: “… I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. ” (Ezekiel 36:26b) Is your heart tender and responsive to God? If you have a stony heart, let the gentle hands of our heavenly Father remove it and replace it with a heart of flesh. The heart of stone is cold and hard, nothing can get into it and nothing can get out. It is prideful and stubborn (wants its own way). It holds on to grudges and offense. A stony heart does not know God and turns away from Him. The heart of flesh has the blood of Jesus running through it, constantly giving it newness of life. It is set on fire by the embers of His love. The heart of flesh is humble and willing to forgive. It is wise and seeks understanding. The heart of flesh is a believing heart. It knows God and believe...

He brings Healing

Image
Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth. — Jeremiah 33:6 (NKJV) God desires for His people to be healthy and whole, in every area of our lives. “For I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds,” declares the LORD… (Jeremiah 30:17a NASB). He wants to show us peace and truth, so we can be set free by the truth and live in peace. Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually]. (3 John 2 AMP) Let us also seek the LORD for the healing of our land. “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV)
