Walk the Right Road

Image
Wise people walk the road that leads upward to life, not the road that leads downward to death. — Proverbs 15:24 (GNT) In Matthew 16:13-16 (NKJV), Jesus asked His disciples, “ Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am? ” So they said, “ Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets .” He said to them, “ But who do you say that I am? ” Simon Peter answered and said, “ You are the Christ, the Son of the living God .” If you know Jesus as the Son of the living God, and accept Him as our risen Savior, then you have chosen the path of life that leads upward. Jesus came that we may have life, and that we may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 NKJV) Let us continually follow Jesus. He leads us in the paths of righteousness. And whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:15)

He Knows You

O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. — Psalm 139:1-3 (NLT) The people around us may not always understand us, but our heavenly Father knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows what we are going to say before we speak a word (Psalm 139:4). Our hearts are like an open book to Him. There is no reason to pretend. He lavishes His love on you right where you are today. His thoughts about you are so great, they cannot be numbered! (Psalm 139:17) God still loves you in spite of any shortcomings. His love never stops. Instead of beating yourself up for past mistakes, open your heart to receive His love and grace. Every day of your life was recorded in His book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. (Psalm 139:16) God has already made a way for you. Just keep moving onward and u...

Deep Roots & Much Fruit

Image
And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward. — 2 Kings 19:30 (NKJV) Let’s be among the believers who take root downward in the Lord and bear much fruit upward and outward. Colossians 2:6-7 says, as you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith… (NKJV). By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples (John 15:8 NKJV). May the roots of our inner beings be firmly and deeply planted in the Lord and always on the grow. And let us purposefully, bear an abundance of fresh fruit in every season.

Don't Turn Back!

Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back. — Philippians 3:13-14 (The Message) As we begin to put closure on this year, let us forget those things which are behind us and press on. Where we are going is much more important than where we have been. May we move onward and upward, to Jesus and the call that God has on our lives. Don't turn back. Keep your eye on the goal!
