He Remembers You

Then they arose early in the morning and worshiped before the LORD, and returned again to their house in Ramah. And Elkanah had relations with Hannah his wife, and the LORD remembered her.  — 1 Samuel 1:19 (NASB1995) In 1 Samuel 1:10 (NLT), Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the LORD. Eli, the priest, saw her lips moving but heard no sound, so he thought she had been drinking. (See 1 Samuel 1:12-13 NLT) “Oh no, sir!” she replied. “I haven’t been drinking wine or anything stronger. But I am very discouraged, and I was pouring out my heart to the LORD. Don’t think I am a wicked woman! For I have been praying out of great anguish and sorrow.” (1 Samuel 15-16 NLT) When they returned home, Elkanah slept with Hannah, and the LORD remembered her plea, and in due time she gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, for she said, “I asked the LORD for him.” (See 1 Samuel 1:19-20 NLT) If you are discouraged and in deep anguish, pour your heart out to Yahweh. He reme...

Ready to Rescue

Image
Is anyone crying for help? God is listening, ready to rescue you. If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath. — Psalm 34:17-18 (MSG) Never believe the lies of the enemy. Our heavenly Father is faithful. He has not forgotten about you and He will never abandon you. He hears your cry and comes to your rescue. The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. (Psalm 34:17 NLT) The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and the One who rescues me; My God, my rock and strength in whom I trust and take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower—my stronghold. — Psalm 18:2 (AMP)

Smile!

Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? Fix my eyes on God—soon I’ll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face. He’s my God. — Psalm 42:11 (MSG) When we keep our eyes fixed on God, our hope in Him is alive and well. Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God, (Psalm 146:5 NKJV) We can smile at the future because we know, with His help, all things are possible. The hope of the righteous will be gladness, (Proverbs 10:28a). Sailors put out the anchor when they want to keep the boat in place. In stormy times, we have to let hope serve as our trustworthy anchor, sure and steadfast. Hope will hold us close to our Savior.  Let us be constantly rejoicing in hope because of our confidence in Christ, (Romans 12:12a AMP).

He's Ready to Rescue!

The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; — Psalm 34:19 (NIV) Is anyone crying for help? God is listening, ready to rescue you (Psalm 34:17 MSG). None of those who trust in Him shall be condemned (Psalm 34:22 NKJV). The Message Bible says, no one who runs to him loses out (Psalm 34:22). As long as we run to Him and rely on Him, we WIN! We cannot lose because our great God ensures our victory. Hallelujah!

Call and He Will Answer!

But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head. I was crying to the LORD with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Psalm 3:3-4 (NAS) Our heavenly Father is a protective shield around us. He is the lifter of your head, full of glory and grace. Call out to the LORD and He will answer. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God (Philippians 4:6).
