Sometimes, the best approach is to remain silent. Instead of conversing with the enemy, take it to God. Ecclesiastes 3:7 says: there is a time to be silent and a time to speak. Remain silent and listen for the still small voice of the LORD. The Word of God carries more weight than any other voice. Proverbs 4:23 (NLT) says to guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. “What I say to you I say to everyone, ‘Be on the alert [stay awake and be continually cautious]!’” (Mark 13:37 AMP) For you do not know the day, nor the hour of our Lord's return.

I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. — Micah 7:7 (NLT) The minute we think we have everything under control, we think more highly of ourselves than we ought and we have allowed the pride of our hearts to deceive us. (Obadiah 1:3). May we humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt us in due time (1 Peter 5:6). Let us look to the LORD for help and confidently wait with full expectation that He will cause everything to work together for the good of those who love Him. He shines His light in the darkness and makes right the wrongs. He heals the broken-hearted and proclaims liberty to those held captive.

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. — Proverbs 16:3 (NIV) There is a way that seems right in man's eyes, but it leads to failure, destruction and even death. When we take our eyes off of Jesus in an attempt to do what He has called us to do, our own way, we can easily deceive ourselves or fall prey to a myriad of distractions and pitfalls. As we closely follow the LORD and walk in His ways, He will direct our steps and establish our plans.

When we hear the Word of God preached, may we also search the Scriptures daily, so that we may believe and know the truth. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect (Mark 13:22).
