God, the LORD, created the heavens and stretched them out. He created the earth and everything in it. He knit us together in our mother’s womb and gave us the breath of life. He wrote all our days in His book before one of them came to be. Let us look to Him for help, before we phone a friend or consult a counselor. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. (Psalm 118:8) He is the source of our help, our hope, our peace and our joy. Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. Go straight to Him. You don’t need a middle man. God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 11:16 NIV).

And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables and said: “The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come.  — Matthew 22:1-3 (NKJV) Our natural instinct is to pick up the phone when it rings. However, our heavenly Father has sent out a call to each and every person. Yet so many just let the phone ring. They refuse to answer the call God has placed on their lives. They hear the phone ringing, but they get distracted with other things, things that have no eternal value. Matthew 22:5 says, those who heard the invitation, made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. In the words of Pastor Matthew Pollock, this is indeed a major biblical tragedy. Today, people neglect the call of God to do their own thing. Let there be no more excuses, nor delays - answer the call!
