Choose Life

Image
“So now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God ask from you, but to fear Yahweh your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of Yahweh and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?” — Deuteronomy 10:12-13 (LSB) “See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God, which I am commanding you today; and the curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God, but turn aside from the way which I am commanding you today, by walking after other gods which you have not known.” (Deuteronomy 11:26-28 LSB)  …the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it. (See Deuteronomy 30:14) I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your...

Better to Fear God

Image
Then Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, gave this order to the Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah: “When you help the Hebrew women as they give birth, watch as they deliver. If the baby is a boy, kill him; if it is a girl, let her live.” But because the midwives feared God, they refused to obey the king’s orders. They allowed the boys to live, too.” — Exodus 1:15-17 (NLT) It is better to fear God rather than man. “The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.” (Proverbs 29:25 NKJV) So God was good to the midwives, and the Israelites continued to multiply, growing more and more powerful. And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.” (Exodus 1:20-21 NLT) Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples. For great is the LORD and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. — Psalms 96:3-4 (NASB1995)

Obey God

Image
Then they brought the apostles before the high council, where the high priest confronted them. “We gave you strict orders never again to teach in this man’s name!” he said. “Instead, you have filled all Jerusalem with your teaching about him, and you want to make us responsible for his death!” But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority.” — Acts 5:27-29 (NLT) In Acts 4:18, the apostles were commanded to never again speak or teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, “Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than him? We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.” (Acts 4:19-20 NLT) As the Apostle Peter said: “We must obey God rather than men.” In Luke 12:5 (TPT), Jesus said: “The one you must fear is God, for he has both the power to take your life and the authority to cast your soul into hell. Yes, the only one you need to fear is God.” The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in and puts his confi...

The End of the Matter

Image
When all has been heard, the end of the matter is: fear God [worship Him with awe-filled reverence, knowing that He is almighty God] and keep His commandments, for this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, every hidden and secret thing, whether it is good or evil. — Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (AMP) “Why, then, O Jacob’s tribes, would you ever complain? And my chosen Israel, why would you say, “Yahweh isn’t paying attention to my situation. He has lost all interest in what happens to me”? Don’t you know? Haven’t you been listening? Yahweh is the one and only everlasting God, the Creator of all you can see and imagine! He never gets weary or worn out. His intelligence is unlimited; he is never puzzled over what to do!” (Isaiah 40:27-28 TPT) Yahweh has not forgotten about you. The eyes of the LORD are in every place, watching the evil and the good. (Proverbs 15:3 NASB1995) He carefully watches all of our paths, all of our comings and goings. (See Proverbs 5:21 AM...

Trust Confidently

Image
But as for me, I trust [confidently] in You and Your greatness, O LORD; I said, “You are my God.” My times are in Your hands; Rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from those who pursue and persecute me. — Psalms 31:14 (AMP) May we confidently trust in our heavenly Father, at all times, without wavering. For Yahweh is a great God and a great King above all gods, in whose hand are the depths of the earth, the peaks of the mountains are His also. The sea is His, for it was He who made it, and His hands formed the dry land. (Psalms 95:3-5 LSB) Nothing is too difficult for Him. …great is the LORD and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. (Psalms 96:4 NASB1995) He is great and does wondrous works! He alone is God (see Psalms 86:10 AMP), the only true and living God.  O LORD of hosts, how blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You [believing in You, relying on You, and committing himself to You with confident hope and expectation]. — Psalms 84:12 (...

Fear God

Image
And Moses said to him, “As soon as I go out of the city, I will spread out my hands to Yahweh; the thunder will cease, and there will be hail no longer, that you may know that the earth is Yahweh’s. But as for you and your servants, I know that you do not yet fear Yahweh God.” — Exodus 9:29-30 (LSB) The [reverent] fear of the LORD [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge (See Proverbs 1:7 AMP) “When I had nothing, desperate and defeated, I cried out to the Lord and he heard me, bringing his miracle-deliverance when I needed it most. The angel of Yahweh stooped down to listen as I prayed, encircling me, empowering me, and showing me how to escape. He will do this for everyone who fears God.” (Psalms 34:6-7 TPT)

Fear God

Image
Then the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah and the other was named Puah; and he said, “When you are helping the Hebrew women to give birth and see them upon the birthstool, if it is a son, then you shall put him to death; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.” But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt had commanded them, but let the boys live. — Exodus 1:15-17 (NASB1995) Let the actions of Shiphrah and Puah serve as a reminder that we need to obey Yahweh, rather than man. God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be held in reverence by all those around Him. (Psalm 89:7 NKJV) The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe. (Proverbs 29:25 NKJV) Exodus 1:20-21 says, God was good to the midwives, and the people multiplied, and became very mighty. Because the midwives feared God, He established households for them. Behold, for so shall the man be blessed and di...

Fear God

Image
And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people; and he said with a loud voice, “Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters.” — Revelation 14:6-7 (NASB1995) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10 NKJV) “Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28 NLT) Wise men and women seek first the Kingdom of God. Wisdom is calling. May you have ears to hear. Worship the one and only, true and living God, YAHWEH. Fear God with awe-filled reverence and profound respect.  When all has been heard, the end of the matter is: fear God [worship Him with awe-filled reverence, knowing that He is alm...

Great is His Goodness

Image
How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from those who conspire against them. You shelter them in your presence, far from accusing tongues. — Psalm 31:19-20 (NLT) Trust in the LORD. Be glad and rejoice in His unfailing love, for He has seen your troubles, and He cares about the anguish of your soul. He has not handed you over to your enemies but has set you in a safe place. (Psalm 31:6-8) He is our rock and our fortress; for His name’s sake He will lead us and guide us. (Psalm 31:3) Follow Him.

Be Strong & Courageous!

Image
So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him. — Isaiah 59:19 (NKJV) When the enemy comes in like a flood, remember, God is on our side and there are more with us than with the enemy. The battle belongs to the LORD, and He has given us the victory! “ Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him. With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah. (2 Chronicles 32:7-8 NKJV) Be strengthened by His Word today.

Just Do It!

Image
The last and final word is this: Fear God. Do what he tells you. And that’s it. Eventually God will bring everything that we do out into the open and judge it according to its hidden intent, whether it’s good or evil. — Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (MSG) King Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived, searched high and low for the meaning of life. His final conclusion was that the greatest and most meaningful thing we can do is to fear God (honor Him) and do what He tells us to do. For this is man’s all (Ecclesiastes 12:13b NKJV). It is only when we pursue our God given purpose that we live truly happy, successful and fulfilled lives.
