Proclaim His Praises

Image
“God rescued me from the grave, and now my life is filled with light.’ “Yes, God does these things again and again for people. He rescues them from the grave so they may enjoy the light of life.” — Job‬ ‭33‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ (NLT‬‬) Praise Yahweh for drawing us out of darkness and into His marvelous light! For you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. (See 1 Peter 2:9-10 NKJV) For He is the living God, and steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end. He delivers and rescues, and He works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. (See Daniel 6:26-27 NKJV)

Believe

Image
Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”  — John 11:40 (NKJV) When Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was. (John 11:6). Mary and Martha may have thought Jesus forgot about them or that He didn’t care, but it was all for the glory of God. What seems to us like a delay, may be a prelude for the glory of God to be shown. Don’t get down in the dumps during the delays. Instead keep believing and watching with expectation for a mighty move of God! Instead of another healing, John 11:43-44 records Jesus calling a man who had been dead for four days out of the grave. That relationship or situation that appears lifeless in your eyes, can be resurrected and given new life, all for the glory of God. As a result of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead, many of the Jews who saw what Jesus did, believed in Him. (John 11:45) As God’s glory is revealed in your life, many will see and belie...

What are you wearing?

Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.” — John 11:43-44 (NKJV) After we have been transferred from the domain of darkness and death to the kingdom of light and life, we are to be loosed from the graveclothes and be clothed in garments that belong to the Kingdom of God. For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. (Romans 6:4 NLT) He gives us beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that we may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified. (Isaiah 61:3) Put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:24) Since God...

No Escape

Image
I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. — Psalm 139:7-10 (NLT) Why try to escape the Presence of the LORD? As Jonah learned when he tried to run away from God, there is no place we can go to flee from His Presence. He knows where we go and where we lie down. He knows everything we do. (Psalm 139:3) He is intimately acquainted with all our ways. (Psalm 139:3b AMP). His Presence is with us to lead us and guide us. His Holy Spirit is our Helper (John 14:26). The Spirit of God is our strength and support. He empowers us to do all that we are called to do. Instead of running away from God, let us be drawn by His love for us, into a deeper, more intimate relationship with Him. Worship Him and be filled with His Spirit. Let Him occup...

CALL

Image
I love the LORD, because He hears my voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live. — Psalm 116:1-2 (NASB) We can be confident that when we call on the name of the LORD, He hears and He will respond. Death wrapped its ropes around me; the terrors of the grave overtook me. I saw only trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the LORD: “Please, LORD, save me!” How kind the LORD is! How good he is! So merciful, this God of ours! The LORD protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and he saved me. (Psalm 116:3-6 NLT) Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; For You [and only You] I wait [expectantly] all the day long. (Psalm 25:5 AMP)

He is There

I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. — Psalm 139:7-10 (NLT) His Presence is always with us. No need to hide or run away from His Presence. He goes with us for good and not evil. His Presence is our protection, and our peace. His Presence is our source of strength and power. He is a mighty fortress, and a refuge in times of trouble. May we continually delight ourselves in His Presence.

My Help

Image
My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. — Psalm 121:2 (NKJV) Unless the LORD had helped me, I would soon have settled in the silence of the grave. — Psalm 94:17 (NLT) Our heavenly Father is not out to hurt you or harm you. He is not like the earthly Father who let your down, the friend that wasn't there for you, or the spouse that betrayed you. He is our Helper and He is faithful. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. (Psalm 46:1) So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6 NKJV) We experience more of a struggle when we try to do life our way and trust in our own strength. However, when we cast our cares on the LORD and rely on Him to fight our battles, we don’t get stressed out, nor grow weary, because His yoke is easy and His burden is light. (Matthew 11:30) Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grac...

He is Mightier

Image
The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, than the mighty waves of the sea. — Psalm 93:4 (NKJV)  The enemy may be making lots of noise regarding your spouse, your children, your finances or your job/business, but remember that the LORD our God is mightier than the noise of the enemy. Drown out the noise of the enemy with praises to Almighty God. Lift up your voice and call upon our awesome God. The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,” your love, God, took hold and held me fast (Psalm 94:18 MSG). Unless the LORD had helped me, I would soon have settled in the silence of the grave (Psalm 94:17 NLT).

Focus on JESUS!

We must focus on Jesus, the source and goal of our faith. He saw the joy ahead of him, so he endured death on the cross and ignored the disgrace it brought him. Then he received the highest position in heaven, the one next to the throne of God.  — Hebrews 12:2 (GW) Among all the celebrations and family feasts that will take place today, let us never lose focus, JESUS is who we celebrate today. Even though the enemy tried to destroy Him, He endured the cross and triumphed over the grave. We celebrate the fact that His tomb is empty and Jesus is ALIVE! He conquered death and sin.  He paid the debt for our sin and brought us back into fellowship with our Heavenly Father. Hallelujah! Be Blessed as you Celebrate Resurrection Day!

His Unfailing Love Supports Us

Unless the Lord had helped me, I would soon have settled in the silence of the grave. I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me. When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. Psalm 94:17-19 (NLT) I know for a fact, if God had not reached out and helped me I would not be here today. His unfailing love is our support. When we hit rock bottom in life, it's the hand of our heavenly Father that reaches out and picks us up. He carries us close to Him and gives us the strength to go on. When you are upset and beside yourself, He will calm you down and cheer you up (Psalm 94:19, The Message).
