Wait & Listen

…Yahweh was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but Yahweh was not in the earthquake. Then after the earthquake a fire, but Yahweh was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a thin gentle whisper. — 1 Kings 19:11-12 (LSB) The winds of adversity will come and go. Your world may get shaken and you may go through some fiery trials, but don’t draw back or give up. Lift up your prayer to Yahweh and then take the time to listen for His still small voice. Sometimes our lives are too busy and too noisy, to hear His voice. Clear your mind of all clutter. If our minds are filled with anxiety, worry, or fear, it makes it difficult to hear the gentle whisper of our heavenly Father. Let the peace of God guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (See Philippians 4:7), as you listen for His word to come to you. If you want a closer walk with God, you must patiently wait, with expectation, to hear His voice and then follow His instruction. Elijah was hiding out in a cave when t...

He Knows

O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways. — Psalm 139:1-3 (NASB1995) El Elyon, the God Most High, is over every person, place or thing, for He created it all. He is our Maker, and He is intimately acquainted with all of our ways. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Indeed, He knows the number of hairs on your head. (See Luke 12:6-7) He knows the plans He has for us. All of our days were written in His book before we drew our first breath. (See Psalm 139:16) Whatever troubles come, He has already made a way out for us. Nothing that happens to us is a surprise to Him.  Let us worship and thank our great God. He is a good, good Father and a gracious, generous God. Be glad in this day, which He has made, knowing that our lives are in the hands of the One Who created it all, and the plans He has for us...

"Come & Follow Me"

But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. — John 10:2-3 (NLT) We are a chosen people. God called us out of the darkness and into his wonderful light. (See 1 Peter 2:9 NLT) Jesus invites all people to come to Him and to follow Him. In John 1:43 (NLT), Jesus found Philip and said to him, “Come, follow me.” In Matthew 8:22 (NASB1995), Jesus said to one of his disciples, “Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead.” In Luke 9:62 (NKJV) Jesus said: “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Let us move onward and forward, no looking back. Today, Jesus beckons us to come and follow Him. As followers of Christ, may we abide in Him and adhere to His ways and teachings. Ignore the distractions and everything else that creates distance between you and our Savior and ...
