Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. That’s why Scripture says, God opposes the proud, but He pours out grace on the humble. — James 4:6 (VOICE) Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, (1 Peter 5:6). So I’ve learned from my experience that God protects the childlike and humble ones. For I was broken and brought low, but he answered me and came to my rescue! (Psalm 116:6 TPT) He rules by His might forever; His eyes keep watch on the nations; Let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah. (Psalm 66:7 NASB)  But the humble of heart will inherit every promise and enjoy abundant peace. (Psalm 37:11 TPT)

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. (1 Corinthians 13:4 TPT) God’s perfect love for us is constant. May we continually walk in love, with all people. Love is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others. (1 Corinthians 13:7 TPT) We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. — 1 John 4:16 (NASB)

And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. — Matthew 17:14-15 (NKJV) This father humbly came to Jesus on behalf of his son and the child was cured that very hour (Matthew 17:18). Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. (Psalm 95:6) May we humble ourselves and kneel before the LORD. Kneeling is a reminder of our position before Him. He is above all. He is our Maker, the One who created us. He is worthy of our worship. Kneeling is a sign of submission, reverence, respect and honor. “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6) Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, (1 Peter 5:6).

For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” — Isaiah 57:15 (NKJV) Psalm 10:17 (NASB) says the LORD hears the desire of the humble, He strengthens their heart, and inclines His ear to hear their voice. Isaiah 29:19 (NKJV) tells us, “The humble also shall increase their joy in the LORD…” James 4:6 (NKJV) says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, (1 Peter 5:6 NKJV). Let us abide in His Presence, in the high and holy place. For we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, (1 Peter 2:9)

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9a (NLT) The Apostle Paul was given a thorn in his flesh, to keep him from becoming proud. Three different times he begged the Lord to take it away and each time, the Lord directed Paul’s attention back to Himself. (2 Corinthians 12:7-8) We all have some thorny things in our lives that continue to prick us and make us uncomfortable. They constantly call for our attention. Sometimes we pay too much attention to our weaknesses, those things that consistently challenge us. That will cost us our peace and our joy. Instead, let us remember what the Lord said, (His grace is all we need), and shift our focus to the Lord. Then, His power is able to work in us and through us, to bring about God's perfect will in our lives. His grace strengthens us to be and do all that we are called to be and do. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT) The Apostle Paul was given a thorn in his flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment him and keep him from becoming proud (2 Corinthians 12:7). God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). When we admit we are poor, we can draw from the riches of His grace. When we admit our weaknesses to Him, His strength and power is available. When we surrender all and submit to God, He can do His best work in us and through us.

“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”  — James 4:6 (NKJV) Humility is the acknowledgement that anything we accomplish in this life is only by the grace of God. Humility recognizes that everything we have belongs to Him. God empowered us with the strength, wisdom and all that we needed to come this far. Romans 12:3 (AMP) says, [not to have an exaggerated opinion of your own importance]. So, don’t get puffed up with pride. Instead, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, (1 Peter 5:6, NKJV). Be thankful for all of your successful endeavors and continue to depend on and be devoted to God, with all your heart.

So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. — 2 Corinthians 12:7b (NLT) The Message translation says, so I wouldn’t get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan’s angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. Are you being pricked? So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor (1 Peter 5:6, NLT). And remember what the Lord said: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness,” (2 Corinthians 12:9a, NKJV). His grace (favor, loving-kindness and mercy) is more than enough!

Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty, and before honor is humility.  — Proverbs 18:12 (NKJV) Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up (James 4:10)! Let us be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble,” (1 Peter 5:5). I believe pride and arrogance are some of the most putrid smells in the nostrils of God. The Message Bible says, pride first, then the crash (Proverbs 18:12). Humility starts with putting God first and then considering the needs of others before your self. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time (1 Peter 5:6).

"My hand made all things. All things are here because I made them," says the Lord. "These are the people I am pleased with: those who are not proud or stubborn and who fear my word." Isaiah 66:2 (NCV) Instead of being a people pleaser, let us seek to please our heavenly Father. May we practice humility and give up our stubborn ways to follow His Word. James 4:6 says, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
