The Goodness of GOD

Image
“ Let my soul be at rest again, for the LORD has been good to me. He has saved me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. ” — Psalms 116:8 (NLT) I will be glad and rejoice in your unfailing love, for you have seen my troubles, and you care about the anguish of my soul. You have not handed me over to my enemies but have set me in a safe place. (Psalms 31:7-8 NLT) God is my shield, saving those whose hearts are true and right. (Psalms 7:17 NLT) So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the LORD! (Psalms 31:24 NLT) How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. (Psalms 31:19 NLT) I will give thanks to Yahweh according to His righteousness and will sing praise to the name of Yahweh Most High. (Psalms 7:17 LSB) Oh give thanks to Yahweh, call upon His name; Make known His acts among the peoples. (Psalms 105:1 LSB)

Rest

Image
Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.” — Mark‬ ‭6‬:‭31‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) The demands of this world would have us constantly coming and going. Sometimes we need to unwind and unplug. Let us remember to retreat to a quiet place and rest. For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” But you would not,” (Isaiah‬ ‭30‬:‭15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬) “Quiet your heart in his presence and wait patiently for Yahweh…” (See Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭7‬ ‭TPT‬‬) “Return to your rest, O my soul, for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. For You have rescued my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. I shall walk before the LORD In the land of the living.” — Psalms‬ ‭116‬:‭7‬-‭9‬ ‭(NASB1995‬‬)

He Sees You

Image
O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. — Psalms 139:1-5 (NLT) You can fool some of the people some of the time. But you “ain’t” fooling God at any time. Yahweh sees the real you, inside and out, with no filters. We do not have to pretend with Him. He sees into our very heart. Not only does He see you, but He knows you better than you know yourself. He saw who He created you to be before you became you! Before you ever seen the light of day, the number of days He planned for you were already recorded in His book.” (See Psalms 139:16 TPT) And He loves you with an everlasting love.

Return to Him

Image
Lord Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Come back to me! By returning and resting in me you will be saved. In quietness and trust you will be made strong. But you refused.” — Isaiah 30:15 (TPT) The LORD is a faithful God. He longs to be gracious to you, and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him. (See Isaiah 30:18 NASB1995) Yahweh desires for us to come to Him so He can show us His love and compassion. Isaiah 30:19 (NLT) says: “He will be gracious if you ask for help. He will surely respond to the sound of your cries.” Even though the Lord may allow you to go through a season of hardship and difficulty, he himself will be there with you. He will not hide himself from you, for your eyes will constantly see him as your Teacher. When you turn to the right or turn to the left, you will hear his voice behind you to guide you, saying, “This is the right path; follow it.” (Isaiah 30:20-21 TPT)

Find Rest

Image
This is what the LORD says:  “Stop at the crossroads and look around.  Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it.  Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls.  But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’  — Jeremiah 6:16 (NLT) Don't be hard-headed and refuse to walk in the wise ways of YAHWEH. Psalm 91:1 (NLT) says: Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts. (Isaiah 57:15 NLT) He dwells in the high and holy (set apart) place. May we humble ourselves and find rest for our souls by abiding in the shelter of El Elyon, the God Most High. He lets you rest in green meadows and leads you beside peaceful streams. (See Psalm 23:2 NLT) The LORD will guide...

Why, Come?

Image
“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” — Matthew 2:1-2 (NASB) Jesus is always beckoning us to come to Him. Let us be like the wise men and come to bow down and worship King Jesus. Come to receive rest. In Matthew 11:28 (NASB), Jesus said,  “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Come to cast your cares upon Him for He cares for you. Come to receive salvation and be made whole. Let us be like the one leper in Luke 11:15-16, who was healed, and came back glorifying God and fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Jesus.

REST

Image
The Eternal is my shepherd, He cares for me always. He provides me rest in rich, green fields beside streams of refreshing water. He soothes my fears; — Psalm 23:1-2 (VOICE) As we remember it’s not about man-made rules and religion, but a personal relationship, we can stop striving, be still and come to a greater knowledge of our good and awesome God. Rest in His Presence. Put the yoke of Jesus on and learn from Him, for He is gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest and renewal for your souls. (Matthew 11:29) And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.” — Exodus 33:14 (NASB)

Sure & Fearless

Image
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand]. — Psalm 91:1 (AMP) God is our shelter and our strength. When troubles seem near, God is nearer, and He’s ready to help. So why run and hide? No fear, no pacing, no biting fingernails. When the earth spins out of control, we are sure and fearless. When mountains crumble and the waters run wild, we are sure and fearless. Even in heavy winds and huge waves, or as mountains shake, we are sure and fearless. (Psalm 46:1-3 VOICE) “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” — Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV)

PEACE

Image
When we arrived in Macedonia, there was no rest for us. We faced conflict from every direction, with battles on the outside and fear on the inside. — 2 Corinthians 7:5 (NLT) The Passion Translation says, … we found no relief. We were restless and exhausted; troubles met us at every turn. Outwardly I faced conflicts and inwardly emotional turmoil. (2 Corinthians 7:5)  We often face conflict from all directions, in addition to dealing with internal fears, but remember the words of Jesus: “ Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. ” (John 14:27 NASB) In 2 Corinthians 6:4 (NLT), the Apostle Paul says, “In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind.” May we be true ministers of God and patiently endure the troubles, hardships, and calamities that come our way, knowing that Jesus has over...

Come & Rest

Image
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” — Matthew 11:28-29 (NASB)  Jesus calls ALL who are weary and heavily burdened to come to Him. God shows no favoritism (Acts 10:34 NLT). He longs for us to come close to Him. The invitation to come is an open invitation to come any time and in any condition, come just as you are, just COME . If you are carrying a heavy burden today, give all your worries and cares to God because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7) When we put His yoke on, we join our hearts and lives to Him. We walk with Christ and and let Him work with us and through us. We let go of the world’s ways and learn His ways. When we are yoked to Jesus, our weary souls will find rest. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. — Psalm 23:2 (NLT)

Rest in God’s Faithfulness

Image
Believe in the Eternal, and do what is good— live in the land He provides; roam, and rest in God’s faithfulness. — Psalm 37:3 (VOICE) The Amplified Bible says to trust, rely on and have confidence in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and feed securely on His faithfulness. (Psalm 37:3) When we rely on Him to work in us and through us, His perfect will is accomplished. Let us put more confidence in our great God than we do earthly events, that doctor’s report, or the balance of our bank account, etc. Trust God to handle everything that concerns you and He will keep you in perfect peace. God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) He is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. Amen.

He Rescues

Image
The Eternal your God is standing right here among you, and He is the champion who will rescue you. He will joyfully celebrate over you; He will rest in His love for you; He will joyfully sing because of you like a new husband. — Zephaniah 3:17  (VOICE) Acts 7:9-10a (NLT) says: “These patriarchs were jealous of their brother Joseph, and they sold him to be a slave in Egypt. But God was with him and rescued him from all his troubles…” Just as God was with Joseph, He is with you and will rescue you from all your troubles. He is our Champion, Who goes before us and makes a way out of no way. What people mean for evil toward you, God can turn it around for good. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. — Psalm 34:17 (NKJV)

Wait on the Lord

Image
For from days of old no one has heard, nor has ear perceived, nor has the eye seen a God besides You, Who works and acts in behalf of the one who [gladly] waits for Him. — Isaiah 64:4 (AMP) Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. (Psalm 37:7) Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord! (Psalm 27:14) Our walk with the Lord is not a do-it-yourself project. Let us wait patiently, with gladness of heart and full of confidence that our God will work everything together for good. My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. — Psalm 62:5 (NKJV)

Rest & Rely

Image
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. — Matthew 11:28 (NKJV) Jesus calls all who are tired of laboring and all who have heavy loads to come to Him. He will give you rest. In the Message Bible, He says: “ I’ll show you how to take a real rest. ” When we spend time in His Presence, He refreshes our souls and renews the right spirit within us. He fills us with His peace and gives us strength to persevere. If you are empty, let Him fill your cup to overflowing. (Psalm 23:5 NCV) Take a real rest and rely on His help. Wherever you are, His hand shall lead you, and His right hand shall hold you. (Psalm 139:10 NKJV) So, don’t be afraid, for He is with you. Don’t be discouraged, for He is your God. He will strengthen you and help you. He will hold you up with His victorious right hand. (Isaiah 41:10 NLT)

Our Oasis

Image
“Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.” — Matthew 11:28-30 (TPT) In The Passion Translation, Jesus says, He is our oasis. An oasis is a pleasant and peaceful place found in the midst of hard and difficult terrain. In this chaotic world, Jesus is our calm. In a dry and weary land, He is a spring of living water. When we join our lives with His, we learn His gentle and humble ways. As we learn to draw our strength and all that we need from Him, we will rest and be refreshed. He who comes to Jesus shall never hunger, and he who believes in Him shall never thirst. (John 6:35)

Gracious is the LORD

Image
Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; Yes, our God is compassionate. The LORD preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me. Return to your rest, O my soul, for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. — Psalm 116:5-7 (NASB) Our God is full of grace and compassion. When difficult circumstances bring you down, look up, to Abba Father. He is an ever-present help. The Message Bible says, God takes the side of the helpless... (Psalm 116:6). He will right the wrongs.     Our heavenly Father shines His light, in times of darkness. Keep your trust in Him and He will deal bountifully with you. And the Eternal watches over the naive. Whenever I was knocked down, He reached down and saved me. O my soul! Return and relax. Come to your true rest, for the Eternal has showered you with His favor. —Psalm 116:6-7 (The Voice)

Still in Pursuit

Image
“When Gideon came to the Jordan, he and the three hundred men who were with him crossed over, exhausted but still in pursuit.” — Judges 8:4 (NKJV) Let us press on and continually pursue the things that our heavenly Father has called us to, and we will fulfill our purpose. We will reach our desired destination. First Timothy 6:11, tells us to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness. Romans 14:19 says to pursue the things which make for peace. Hosea 6:3 instructs us to pursue the knowledge of the Lord. When we come to end of ourselves, let us draw strength from the LORD, our Source. And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” (Exodus 33:14  NKJV)

Return & Rest

Image
“Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Accept my teachings and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit, and you will find rest for your lives. ” — Matthew 11:28-29 (NCV) If you are tired and heavily burdened, Jesus says, “Come!”  Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden ... (Psalm 68:19 NASB).    When we try to do things in our own might and power, we become weary. May we rest in His Presence. The LORD gives us the strength to do all that He has called us to do, by the power of His Holy Spirit within us. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest... (Hebrews 4:9,11). For the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel has said this, “In returning [to Me] and rest you shall be saved, in quietness and confident trust is your strength.” (Isaiah 30:15a  AMP)

“Come!”

Image
And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. — Revelation 22:17 (NKJV) The message of Jesus is always for us to come to Him. In Matthew 11:28 Jesus said, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” He continually invites everyone to come to Him. It’s an open invitation, to come close and fellowship with Him. In Matthew 14:29, Jesus said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. Peter had an extraordinary experience because He was willing and took action to approach Jesus. May we get out of the comfort of our boat and walk on the water with Jesus. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. — John 6:37 (NKJV)

Remain Secure

Image
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand]. — Psalm 91:1 (AMP) We remain secure when we dwell in the shelter of the Most High. The word dwell indicates a permanent place of residence. If we want to remain secure, we cannot use the LORD as a temporary place to stay, where we check-in and check-out on Sunday morning. We are to abide with Him, seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Be gracious to me, O God, be gracious and merciful to me, for my soul finds shelter and safety in You, and in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge and be confidently secure until destruction passes by. (Psalm 57:1AMP) I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah  —Psalm 61:4 (NKJV)
