The Bread of Life

Image
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.” — John 6:35 (NASB1995) Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.” Then they said to Him, “Lord, always give us this bread.” (John 6:32-34 NASB1995) May we always desire Yeshua, the Bread of Life. He is the only One Who can fully satisfy our hunger and quench our thirst.  Psalms 104:15 (AMP) says it is bread that sustains and strengthens man’s heart. “Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your earnings for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight in abundance.” (Isaiah 55:2 AMP)

He is Able

Image
Now to the One who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Yeshua the Messiah our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority, before all time, both now and forever. Amen. — Jude 24-25 (TLV) I am sure of this very thing—that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the Day of Messiah Yeshua. (Philippians 1:6 TLV) Therefore let the one who thinks that he stands watch out that he doesn’t fall. No temptation has taken hold of you except what is common to mankind. But God is faithful—He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can handle. But with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape, so you will be able to endure it. Therefore, my dearly loved ones, flee from idolatry. (1 Corinthians 10:12-14 TLV) ...submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you. (James 4:7 AMP)

Called Out

Image
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; — 1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV) We have been called out of darkness. For the Father rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (See Colossians 1:13-14) Now we are light in the Lord, let us walk as children of light. Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; (See Ephesians 5:8,11). May you be a beacon of light, shining out clearly, in the world of darkness, holding out and offering to everyone the word of life… (See Philippians 2:15-16 AMP)

Be Filled & Flooded

Image
and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself]. — Ephesians 3:19 (AMP) The greatest pursuit we can have in this life is to know YAHWEH, and be known by Him. No one wants to hear Jesus say: “ I never knew you; depart from Me …” (see Matthew 7:23) May we be fully capable of understanding, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love truly is. Let us come to know, through personal experience the amazing, endless love of Christ. (See Ephesians 3:18 NLT/AMP) As we open our hearts and minds to receive His love, let us also share His love with everyone He brings our way.   And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so...

Come Out!

Image
The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. — John 15:19 (NLT) Jesus chose us and called us to come out of the world. Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. (1 John 2:15-16 NLT) In John 17:15, Jesus did not ask the Father to take His disciples out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. As believers, we live in this world, but the world is not to live inside of us. We are to be filled with the Holy Spirit (See Ephesians 5:18) We are not to be under the sway and influence of this world, but to influence the world for the Kingdom of God. Amen.

Commitment & Sacrifice

Image
Today as we honor Veteran’s, those who have served in the military, I thought about their sacrifice and commitment. It naturally reminded me of Jesus. He made the biggest sacrifice of all. Jesus, our Savior, left the glory of Heaven to be born in a lowly manager, as a man. He lived a perfect, sinless life, but still became the sacrificial Lamb and bore all of our sins. He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you were healed. (1 Peter 2:24 NASB) He gave His life on a cross, to pay the debt of our sins. He was committed to do the will of the Father, at all costs. He was committed to His undying love for humanity.  May we make a dedicated decision every day, to be committed to execute the will of our heavenly Father in our lives. And the greatest commandments are to love God and to love others, as you love yourself. As Jesus exemplified, when you are committed to the cause, you are willing to give y...

Our First Love

Image
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. — 1 John 2:15-16 (NLT) Don’t dilute your love for the Father, by setting the affections of your heart on this world. Listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. “ I know you are patiently enduring and holding firm on behalf of My name. You have not become faint. However, I have this against you: you have abandoned your first love. ” (Revelation 2:3-4 VOICE) If you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, setting your desires and affections on the heavenly things, not on earthly things, which have only temporal value. Just as the Father has lavished His love upon us, may Jesus be our first love. May His Presence be the passionate l...

Be Willing to Learn

Image
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you [who are willing to learn] with My eye upon you. — Psalm 32:8 (AMP) Let us keep our ears open to hear the voice of our heavenly Father and have open minds that are willing to learn. Never let the noise of your storm drown out the voice of the LORD. He is always speaking to those who listen. “This is God’s Message, the God who made earth, made it livable and lasting, known everywhere as God: ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’ (Jeremiah 33:2-3 MSG)

Get Wisdom!

Image
Know, too, that wisdom is good for your soul: if you find it, your reward will be a bright future and an enduring hope! — Proverbs 24:14 (VOICE) Why is it that when we don't know what to do, asking God seems to be the last resort? Let God and His Word be your first resource. If you are facing a situation that has you perplexed, heed the words of James 1:5, If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. (AMP). Wisdom involves having the correct knowledge and understanding when and how to apply it.  Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. (Proverbs 4:5 NKJV)

Stand Strong!

Image
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. — Ephesians 6:10 (NLT) Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).  When we put on the whole armor of God, we are able to stand strong against the wiles of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  (Ephesians 6:14-17). And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of p...

Come Near

Image
Then Hezekiah answered and said, “Now that you have consecrated yourselves to the LORD, come near, and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the LORD.” So the assembly brought in sacrifices and thank offerings, and as many as were of a willing heart brought burnt offerings. — 2 Chronicles 29:31 (NKJV) God’s people were told to come near after the priests brought out all the debris they found in the temple of the LORD (2 Chronicles 29:16). Let us remove from our hearts (His temple), anything that doesn’t belong. Any unforgiveness, any offense, rebellion or pride. Consider it rubbish. Be of a willing heart to let it go and come near to the living God. No matter where you're at today, the LORD is saying, “Come closer!”

Grace to the Humble

“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”  — James 4:6 (NKJV) Humility is the acknowledgement that anything we accomplish in this life is only by the grace of God. Humility recognizes that everything we have belongs to Him. God empowered us with the strength, wisdom and all that we needed to come this far. Romans 12:3 (AMP) says, [not to have an exaggerated opinion of your own importance]. So, don’t get puffed up with pride. Instead, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, (1 Peter 5:6, NKJV). Be thankful for all of your successful endeavors and continue to depend on and be devoted to God, with all your heart.

Always Love!

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. — 1 John 4:7-8 (NIV) Beloved, whatever you do, do it all in love! If we fail to love others, we fail to love God. He is LOVE! Just as the DNA of a baby verifies who the father is, the love we have in the fibers of our heart, our DNA, testifies that we have been born of God. If His love is in us, when we get squeezed and pressured, His love is what will come out of us. May you be rooted and established in His love today and always!

Carry On!

A soldier on duty doesn't get caught up in making deals at the marketplace. He concentrates on carrying out orders. 2 Timothy 2:4 (The Message) Don't get entangled with the affairs of this life. Let us stay focused on our God-given mission. Our enemy has declared war and he will steal, kill and destroy everything and everyone he can. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way (Ephesians 6:11, The Msg). Happy Veteran's Day!

Be Transformed

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 (NLT) As we renew our minds with the Word of God, He transforms us into a new person from the inside out. Instead of being caught up in the customs of this dark world, we stand out as children of the light, who shine with the love and joy of our heavenly Father. Instead of being worried and stressed out like the world, our hearts will be full of peace as we patiently wait for God to show us His good, pleasing and perfect will. Love, Jackie

Always at His Work

Jesus said to them, "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working." John 5:17 (NIV) No matter what troubles you may be facing, remember, God is always at work. He doesn't sleep nor slumber. He is aware of what is going on in your life and He cares. Whatever it is, He will use it for the good and He will see you THROUGH it. Amen. Love, Jackie
