Be a Light-Bearer

Image
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “ I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life. ” — John 8:12 (NASB) In John 12:46, Jesus said: “ I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. ” Everyone who believes in Jesus is to depart from darkness and be light. You are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14 NASB). We are to let His Light shine through us and pierce the darkness. May we continually bear His Light in dark circumstances, the Light of life, the Light of hope and peace, and the Light of God’s grace and unfailing love. “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there...

Remain Faithful

When he got there and witnessed for himself God’s marvelous grace, he was enthused and overjoyed. He encouraged the believers to remain faithful and cling to the Lord with passionate hearts. — Acts 11:23 (TPT) Like Barnabas, may you too, see God’s marvelous grace at work, in the midst of your life. I encourage you to remain faithful and continually cling to the Lord. Fight the good fight, finish the race, and remain faithful. (2 Timothy 4:7 NLT) When we let truth be our guiding light, we will choose the right course of action and stay on the path that leads to everlasting life. Truth’s shining light guides me in my choices and decisions; the revelation of your word makes my pathway clear. — Psalm 119:105 (TPT)

Better Choices

Image
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve... — Joshua 24:15 (NIV) Every day we make a decision to follow the LORD, the world, or our flesh. We choose to walk in the love and grace of God, with every action, and reaction. Let’s challenge ourselves to consistently make better choices. As we grow and mature, we can make better choices with the use of our time, our talents and our money. We can make better choices in the attitudes we display and the words we speak. Choose to speak positive, uplifting words of life. Praise God that He will do the amazing, spectacular things He does, but it is always our responsibility to make better choices. Choose wisely!

God's Grace

As God’s fellow workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. — 2 Corinthians 6:1 (NIV) The word vain means to produce no result or to have no meaning. Let us not take the goodness of God for granted. In Him, we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28). Pastor Matt Pollock has described grace as having everything you need, when you need it. God’s provision is not for us to just sit back and grow spiritually fat. His grace has a higher purpose. He equips us that we might fulfill the call of God in our lives. Having received God’s grace, let us engage in an active pursuit of completing the mission we have received from God and focus on fulfilling His purpose in our lives. Amen!

Our Only Aim

I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. — Acts 20:23-24 (NIV) May our only aim be to finish the race and complete the task given to us by the Lord Jesus Christ. No matter what hardships you may suffer in this life, do not be moved. Our lives are worth nothing unless we complete the mission given to us. Keep the main thing, the main thing and always share with others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.
