Point of View

Image
Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.” — Matthew 16:23 (NLT) May we see situations with eyes of faith, from Yahweh’s point of view. His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. (See Isaiah 55:9) Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. (Colossians 3:1-2 NASB1995) A mind set on the things of man is a tool for Satan to use. Let us have our mind set on the things of Yahweh and His Kingdom.

Stand on His Word

Image
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? — Numbers 23:19 (NIV) Some people in our lives may have made false promises or failed to do what they said they would, but our heavenly Father is not a man that He should lie. He fulfills every promise. The entirety of His word is truth… (Psalm 119:160 NKJV). And the word of our God stands forever. (Isaiah 40:8 NKJV). You can stand on His Word and all the wonderful promises He has spoken. Stand on His Word, believing with every fiber of your being and you will not be disappointed. So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11 NKJV)

Rely on His Love

Image
So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. — John 1:14 (NLT) Christ Jesus makes His home among His people. He dwells within us. He is full of unfailing love and faithfulness. That means that His love will never fail us. If everyone in your life deserts you, know that the Lord will stand by you. If you're not feeling loved by the Lord, then you have been listening to the lies of the enemy. Nothing will ever stop His flow of love to you. We do not have to earn His love. He loves us because it is who He is. No matter how you feel emotionally or how circumstances may appear, continue to rely on His love. Everyone who confesses that Jesus is God’s Son participates continuously in an intimate relationship with God. (1 John 4:15 MSG) And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. (1 John 4:16 NIV)

He Never Fails

Image
God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? — Numbers 23:19 (NLT) God cannot lie (Titus 1:2). If He has spoken it, He shall bring it to pass. You can stand on His Word and all of the wonderful promises it contains. After Abraham had patiently endured, he obtained the promise, in the miraculous birth of Isaac (Hebrews 6:15). Indeed, we count them blessed who endure (James 5:11). God does not show personal favoritism. We too shall receive what was promised, through our obedience, and patient perseverance. As He has spoken, so it shall be!

Give Him Your Heart

Image
The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.” — Isaiah 29:13 (NIV) These people were going to church and saying the right things, but God did not have their hearts. After being asked which is the most important commandment? Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ ” (Matthew 22:37 NKJV) Won’t you give Him your heart today?

The Greatest Promise

Image
And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life. — 1 John 2:25 (NKJV) God planted eternity in the human heart (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT). And of all the promises God gave us in His Word, the promise of eternal life is the ultimate one. This is eternal life, that we may know Him, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom He sent (John 17:3). Our heavenly Father created us to know Him and be in constant fellowship with Him and His Son Jesus Christ. May we always seek to grow more intimate in our relationship with the Lord and become more like Him as we gain greater  understanding of His ways and His nature.

Make a Difference

Image
Remember how short my life is, how empty and futile this human existence! No one can live forever... — Psalm 89:47-48  (NLT) Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone (James 4:14 NLT). Live life with a sense of urgency. Let us make each moment count toward something that is going to last, the kingdom of God. As we reach out and touch others with the genuine love of God and share the Good News about Jesus, we are changing lives and making an eternal difference in the world.

When I Am Weak

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. — 2 Corinthians 12:10 (NKJV) The Amplified Bible says: when I am weak [in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful in divine strength). When we are weak, the strength of Christ works through us. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak Isaiah 40:29 (NIV). May you be strengthened in the Lord today!

By His Spirit

‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts.  — Zechariah 4:6 (NKJV) Why waste time and energy trying to force a closed door open with mere human strength? Let us live in the Spirit, and also walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:25). Any worthy thing will only be accomplished by the Spirit of the LORD, as we listen to and obey His Holy Spirit within us. Amen!

He will Deliver!

Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, — 2 Corinthians 1:9-10 (NIV) Don't rely on yourself and what you can do in your human strength, rely on God and what He can do in the supernatural. Only He can bring the dead back to life. What we can learn in all of our suffering and troubles is to trust God. He has delivered us and He will continue to deliver us again and again! When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD lifts up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19). Amen!
