The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made it prosper. — Genesis 39:23 (NKJV) While Joseph served as a slave, the LORD was with him, and made him successful in everything he did. (Genesis 39:2). Instead of feeling abandoned by God when he was sold into slavery, Joseph knew God was with him. Even in that adverse situation, Joseph maintained his integrity and refused to sin against God. He did not give in to the daily temptations of Potiphar’s wife. After being falsely accused and thrown into prison, God was still with Joseph and made him prosper. Genesis 39:21a (NLT) says, the LORD was with Joseph in the prison and showed him his faithful love. As we maintain a right relationship with the LORD, our circumstances cannot stop our faithful and gracious God from pouring out His love and blessings. “If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” — Genesis 4:7 (NIV) Sin crouches at our door, ready to pounce. We don’t have to go looking for it. However, the temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability to resist, but with the temptation He will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13). We always have a choice. Choose well. When you make the wrong choice, don't let the enemy condemn you and cause you to run away from God. The love of our heavenly Father never fails. If we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. — James 4:7-8 (MSG) Say “no” to the devil and his lies. Don’t fall for his tricks, distractions and temptations. When we cry out to God, He hears us and comes to the rescue. Just as a loving parent listens for the cry of their child, our God loves and us and keeps watch over us. Say “yes” to God, His ways and His will. Resist the devil and submit to our heavenly Father. He only wants the best for you. And He is able able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20 NIV).

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. — Romans 8:37 (NLT) Despite all the challenges, trials and temptations we encounter in this life, overwhelming victory is ours through Jesus Christ, who has demonstrated His sacrificial love for us. We can continue to praise the Lord, through all difficulties, because the battle belongs to the God (2 Chronicles 20:15) and He has already given us the victory in Christ Jesus. Amen!

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; — Ephesians 6:17 (NKJV) When Jesus was in the wilderness being tempted by the devil for forty days, His only response was to speak the Word of God. Three times He responded to the devil by speaking the Word (Luke 4:1-8). For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). A sword never taken out of its cover is useless. Our tongues hold the power of death and life (Proverbs 18:21), when we speak the Word we release that power into our atmosphere. In the midst of your trials and temptations, continually speak the Word and the devil will flee!

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. — Revelation 12:11 (NKJV) Are you testifying more about your troubles than about the amazing God who delivers you out of all your troubles? All the trials and temptations we suffer in this world, are nothing more than an opportunity for us to testify about how our great God brought us through. Tell others about all the good things God has done in your life. Speak of how the wonderful Word of God has been proven true in your life. Give testimony of the victory we have in Jesus Christ!
