This is the Day

Image
This is the day which Yahweh has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. — Psalms 118:24 (LSB) Oh come, let us sing for joy to Yahweh, let us make a loud shout to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, let us make a loud shout to Him with songs of praise. For Yahweh is a great God and a great King above all gods, (Psalms 95:1-3 LSB) Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before Yahweh our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts… (Psalms 95:6-8 LSB) Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in You; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul. — Psalms 143:8 (LSB)

He Delivers

Image
Then they took Jeremiah and cast him into the cistern of Malchijah the king’s son, which was in the court of the guardhouse; and they let Jeremiah down with ropes. Now in the cistern there was no water but only mud, and Jeremiah sank into the mud. — Jeremiah 38:6 (NASB1995) Jeremiah was thrown into a dungeon for obeying God and speaking His word of warning to the people. Even when we are doing as Yahweh has instructed us, things may not go as we think they should. When you are mistreated for speaking the Word of God, remember that Yahweh is always with you. You are never alone. And they will fight against you, but they will not overcome you, for I am with you to deliver you,” declares Yahweh. (See Jeremiah 1:19 LSB) Just as Jeremiah was lifted out of the dungeon (See Jeremiah 38:13), Yahweh will rescue you from the hands of the enemy.  Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For YAH, the LORD, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’ ” There...

Receive Him Gladly

Image
Zaccheus was trying to see who Jesus was, and was unable because of the crowd, for he was small in stature. So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree in order to see Him, for He was about to pass through that way. When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” And he hurried and came down and received Him gladly. — Luke 19:3-6 (NASB1995) May we have our minds set on seeing Jesus and getting to know Him more intimately. Let us position ourselves away from any distractions, and above all obstacles that may block our view from seeing Him and understanding His ways more clearly. Hebrews 12:2 (NLT) tells us to keep our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Jesus is standing at the door of your heart. In Revelation 3:20, He says: “…if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” Will you receive Him gladly...

We Do Not Belong

Image
“ I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. They do not belong to this world any more than I do. Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. ” — John 17:14-18 (NLT) As followers of Christ, we are not supposed to conform to the world and its ways. We do not belong to this world. We are on assignment to give them JESUS, to spread the love of God and share His Word, the truth. To let His light shine through us, into the darkness of this world. Once we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we became citizens of the Kingdom of God, a higher and better Kingdom, one of righteousness, peace and joy. Let us declare the goodness of our great God in giving His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish...

Stand Firm

Image
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember and trust in the name of the LORD our God. — Psalm 20:7 (AMP) As the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the LORD.” (2 Corinthians 10:17 NLT) For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” (Romans 10:13 NLT) Don’t put your confidence in weapons, nor rely on human strength. Trust Yahweh, Who fights our battles and gives us victory. Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. (Psalm 20:6 AMP) Our enemy will not prevail. No weapon that is formed against you will succeed. (Isaiah 54:17a NASB) God sends supernatural help from His sanctuary. The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is his name! (See Jeremiah 10:16 NLT) Rise up and stand firm!

The Greatest Joy

Image
“ My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up power within you to endure all things. And then as your endurance grows even stronger it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking. ” — James 1:2-4 (TPT) And then, after your brief suffering, the God of all loving grace, who has called you to share in his eternal glory in Christ, will personally and powerfully restore you and make you stronger than ever. Yes, he will set you firmly in place and build you up. (1 Peter 5:10 TPT)  To Him be dominion (power, authority, sovereignty) forever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 5:11 AMP)  … thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him. — 2 Corinth...

He Sees

Image
Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, “You are God Who Sees”; for she said, “Have I not even here [in the wilderness] remained alive after seeing Him [who sees me with understanding and compassion]?” — Genesis 16:13-14 (AMP) Our heavenly Father is El Roi, the God Who sees. There is no need to try and hide. He knows all of our thoughts and feelings and He sees us with understanding and compassion. He holds us by the hand and watches over us for good and not for harm. O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! — Psalm 34:8 (NASB)

Walk the Right Road

Image
Wise people walk the road that leads upward to life, not the road that leads downward to death. — Proverbs 15:24 (GNT) In Matthew 16:13-16 (NKJV), Jesus asked His disciples, “ Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am? ” So they said, “ Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets .” He said to them, “ But who do you say that I am? ” Simon Peter answered and said, “ You are the Christ, the Son of the living God .” If you know Jesus as the Son of the living God, and accept Him as our risen Savior, then you have chosen the path of life that leads upward. Jesus came that we may have life, and that we may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 NKJV) Let us continually follow Jesus. He leads us in the paths of righteousness. And whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:15)

Wait in Hope

Image
Even youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, but those who wait for the LORD [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun];  They will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired. — Isaiah 40:30-31 (AMP) God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits, to the woman who diligently seeks. It’s a good thing to quietly hope, quietly hope for help from God (Lamentations 3:25-26 MSG). He satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the [soaring] eagle. (Psalm 103:5 AMP) Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD! (Psalm 27:14 NKJV)

Stand Still

Image
And Moses said to them, “Stand still, that I may hear what the LORD will command concerning you.” — Numbers 9:8 (NKJV) Instead of rushing into something God has not called you to, stand still and wait to hear His instruction and guidance. Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for Him to act. (Psalm 37:7a NLT). Do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. (Psalm 37:7b NIV). The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the LORD, and He delights in his way [and blesses his path]. (Psalm 37:23 AMP)

Not Worthy to be Compared

Image
“Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” — Luke 24:26 (NKJV)  Jesus was falsely accused, mocked, condemned to death, and crucified before He entered into His glory. Joseph landed in the palace, by way of a pit and prison. Joshua endured the forty year journey through the wilderness before he stepped foot on the Promised Land. Can we see the things we suffer as temporary events, that God will turn around, to reveal His glory in our lives? For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us (Romans 8:18). For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So let us fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.  (2 Corinthians 4:17-18)

Be Willing to Receive

Image
Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. — Psalm 81:10 (NKJV) It is in the heart of God to bless His people. As we incline our hearts toward Him and walk in His ways, we will naturally experience the abundant blessings that flow from having a rich relationship with our heavenly Father —joyful hearts, peaceful minds, etc. No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11). Be willing to receive all that God has to offer: His instruction, His wisdom, His unconditional love and His Presence. The godly are showered with blessings (Proverbs 10:6 NLT). Amen!

What? vs. Why?

His disciples asked Him, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he should be born blind?  — John 9:2 (AMP)  I suppose it's human nature to want to point fingers and place blame. That started in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve. Adam blamed his sin on the woman God gave Him and Eve blamed the serpent (Genesis 3:12-13). However, the response Jesus gave the disciples takes our focus away from placing blame to a more productive approach. Jesus answered, “It was not that this man or his parents sinned, but he was born blind in order that the workings of God should be manifested (displayed and illustrated) in him.”  (John 9:3) With that response in mind, we can now ask ourselves, “ What can I do, to let love cover a multitude of sins?” (1 Peter 4:8) Or, “ What actions can I take, in this situation, that the glory of God should be revealed?”

Yearn for His Courts!

How lovely is your dwelling place, LORD Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God . — Psalm 84:1-2 (NIV) May your soul yearn (an intense feeling of longing for something) for the courts of the LORD. We enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name (Psalm 100:4). Better is one day in His courts than a thousand anywhere else! (Psalm 84:10) We flourish in the courts of our God (Psalm 92:13). Let your heart and your flesh sing for joy to the living God!

Our Strength and Shield

Praise be to the LORD, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Psalm 28:6-7 (NIV) Just like a mother is attentive to the cry of her newborn baby, the ears of the LORD are always open to hear the cries of His children. Our mighty God is the source of our strength. He is a protective shield around us. We can completely trust our heavenly Father to help us work through the challenges we face. Sing praise to the LORD and let your heart be filled with joy!

A Great Light

The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined. Isaiah 9:2 (KJV) In John 8:12, Jesus said, “ I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. ” Jesus came as a light to the world, so that whoever believes in Him should no longer abide in the darkness. The light of Jesus, encompasses a full and abundant life and freedom from sin and death. His light is full of everlasting love and grace. Enjoy living your life in the Light and praise the Lord!

Let His Light Shine!

God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:5-7 (NKJ) We have been called out of darkness and into God's wonderful light (1 Peter 2:9). We are to let our light shine before men, that they may see our good deeds and praise our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). As we allow the light of God to shine in our hearts and illuminate the dark world around us, we will walk in unconditional love and forgiveness. We will humble ourselves and consider the needs of others more important than our own. We will have compassion and be patient with others. Allow God to wrap you in His brilliant light and then share His light with all who come your way. Love, Jackie

The Mighty One

The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets. Psalm 50:1 (NIV) God is still impressing upon my heart, what a mighty God He is. How important it is for us to know the God we serve. Nothing can stand in His way. He speaks a word and it is done. If we, as believers doubt and worry about anything, we have forgotten the power of Almighty God and all the marvelous and miraculous deeds He has performed. Take some time today to sit in His Presence and meditate on the awesome nature of our wonderful God. In Awe, Love, Jackie
